Always so wholesome to see smaller obscure channels collaborating with the big names, can only imagine what an honour it must have been for Daniel and Evan to be invited on to 2ToRamble! Seriously, this was a wonderful and insightful chat, thanks for the fun 🤩
Evan’s TikTok is what got me into reading for fun for the first time since middle school. So glad yall are having him on. Excited to watch this!! Also shoutout to you guys for getting Daniel on. Your rise in popularity has been so fun to watch. You guys deserve it. Next stop, Sanderson!
I’m so excited you were able to get Daniel and Evan on the podcast! You all are four guys whose bookish takes I hold in the utmost regard. Keep up the awesome work.
I really appreciate Evan's words about reading everything and not giving up. Mainly because it reflects my own thoughts. Sometimes you just need someone else to say it again though.
Congradulations on your deal Evan! Can't wait to read your books when they come out 😊 "The big daddy of booktube.." this almost keeled me over 😂 Daniel, I can't wait to read what you put out next too🎉 I'm so happy for you guys having both these fellas on your chanel and the topic is just what I needed 🌸
I am not too familiarized with Daniel's content (I will change that now) but I am so proud of Evan, and it was because of him that I got back into reading and writing, so thank you Evan for changing my life
Great talk and advice given by both Daniel and Evan. I really hope those aspiring to become published authors can get at least some decent insight into the process. The discord chat is gonna be lit today!
Can I just say that you two are great with guests on your podcast? Because I think the way you interact with them and balance really thoughtful and interesting questions with humor makes it so worthwile to watch/listen to, and creates such a relaxed atmosphere that gives the others room to shine. This was an amazing video! And to clarify, that is not to say that your other videos aren't just as good, it's just that this aspect stood out to me here in this specific format. Your book reviews are also a delight, even though I often don't have the time to watch them all :)
Great discussion & I agree with Leikam about not getting caught up in preconceptions, but I seriously disagree with his “just read everything” idea. It’s functionally indistinguishable from not having any standards, which you can’t really have much of if you’re willing to pollute your mind with bizarre minotaur erotica 😅
Loved the episode! Daniel Green is the GOAT. Y’all should review The Dollmakers by Lynn Buchanan. She is a student of Brandon Sanderson. I just finished her debut novel and loved it!
Hey, nice job, guys! You're getting collabs all over the place! I'm hoping for some author interviews soon! Here are my collab/interview suggestions: 1. After finishing First Law Trilogy, have a character writing or trope subversion discussion with Joe Abercrombie. 2. Pierce Brown Interview. Because Austin lol. 3. M. L. Wang interview. Also because Austin lol. 4. Collab with Wera discussing the interworkings of BookTube. Just some thoughts! Also, thank you for posting this! As an aspiring author, I love learning about publishing and different ways to approach it! I dont know whether I will go down the road of self-pub or trad but it's a long way off anyway. P.S. Planning to join your Patreon probably sometime in November or December! I will force you to read Robin Hobb lol
Kal this is great and have the same exact idea as you for Abercrombie - would love to do that. Also trying our best to get those others on! And you’ll be happiy to hear that the Patreon/Discord has been doing a Robin Hobb readalong and are massive fans - they’re on book 8 or 9 now I believe?
I feel like a jerk saying this but Evan's personality and what/how he says things is extremely unappealing. Sorry! It makes me not interested in his upcoming books
Hey guys, gentle reminder that your viewers are mainly here to see content about fantasy and sci-fi books, not so much how to publish and write books. Congrats on your success, I really enjoy watching your content, and I hope your efforts to write books yourselves are successful, but I'm going to start passing on videos that are about publishing.
