Awesome video! That is absolutely beautiful country there; I am planning a vacation to Ireland in fall 2025 and cannot wait to see it! Also love seeing the full double pump setup from the sky with the drone. It's amazing how you can create your own miniature pipeline system for moving slurry that far! Hope your slurry season finishes out smoothly!
We normally take out the middle pump to blow out its hard on the mechanical seal blowing through it, having a second compressor at the middle pump is handy if you blow out a lot save blowing out full pipe every time
Hi Phil, your auto steer is an important part of your job, sure makes it easy to stay on track. I enjoy your slurry videos. You always make things work better by adding the pump. You could add a little something to the video like showing what Father Phil is doing always enjoy in put on things he is doing.
In relatation to the stone walls the past generations of Rossie Farmers were ingenious in their ability to move big rocks in order to clear fields and build boundries Thank you for highlighting the wonderful countryside of South Roscommon Take care
McHugh Brothers from Taughnaconnell reclaimed the world of land around there 50 - 60 years ago and they used Dozers along with tractors. McHughs pub is still there in Taughnaconnell all those men are sadly passed . A lot of hard work done taking stone out .
Hi big changes since I was spreading in the 80s an 800 gal fleming and a Leyland 272 towards you're outfit 520 hp of course you're a lot quicker and less fatigued than I would have been
Here's a suggestion for ya Phil. Learn a bit of some intermediate/advanced excel stuff. You'd be amazed at what you can do with excel and might be useful for you on the farm. One thing I thought of is you could build a model that predicts the finishing weight of animals or predicts the date a certain animal will be fit for slaughter. Can use predictors like weight, breeding, EBI of dam, feeding etc. I'd imagine it'd be fairly good at predicting these variables given all the data you'd be collecting. And could be fine tuned with further data points. Could be useful for picking which calves you buy...
Put the compressor at the second pump to blow out pipes away from it, when changing fields saves blowing out the whole line 👍 did you go for any 5” pipe?
Wait for slurry get to second pump pto on and reve her till she starts suck in pipe then ease off . When blowing out wait for air get to second pump and let pto on few reves help blow her on quicker
