Railroad Crossing Closures, 2 Long CSX Freight Trains In Hamilton Ohio & Working On The Railroad Crossings. Look how long the first train is! 2nd Train is heading for the Norfolk Southern Railroad interchange where it runs off the CSX main line and is heading to Cincinnati. The first train came from Cincinnati and is heading north. Look how many auto racks is on the second train! They emptied the yard of auto racks. Lol. Both railroad crossings are very busy and were being rebuilt. The first one is Butler Street and the pavement has been removed from the tracks. The second crossing is Heaton Street and the crossing has been repaved and smoothed out. Gate runners will have a much smoother ride. Lol. While I was filming the first train I got to meet one of my viewers named Chuck L. Shout out to Chuck and thanks for watching my videos!

Although I’m an English man, I’ve enjoyed American railroads for years, and I’ve been fortunate to have experienced them in the flesh. I have a recording taken on my cell ‘phone of the the helpers in Grand Junction, sitting idling, waiting to assist an east bound freight. The rest of the tour party thought I was nuts

1:09 - Can hear the Doppler effect with the train horn reflecting off of - I guess - those tall buildings in the background. Slightly lower pitch for the reflected sound. And then 1:39 - slightly higher pitch in the reflected sound.

I remember the days when you could tell how long the train was by how many local motives went in front. Now they're dragging two and three mile trains with two locomotives. Sometimes I miss the old days.

208 cars on that first train. That's a record for your channel since I've been watching. Around here, with all the crossing that were re-done many years ago, they put metal plates between the tracks, flush with the tracks. Those crossings are nice and smooth. 133 cars on that auto racks train. It's possible there were as many as 135-138. Three times I closed my eyes and caught myself dozing off, but just for a few seconds. That train started out going half the speed of the first one, or a bit less than that. But it sped up later, a little bit.

In the small town where I grew up, we had a rail line. The town drunk would watch a train go by, then write down the numbers of every car that went by, by memory. He was a master with numbers.

Wow, another great video of the 2 CSX trains! The 1st one had a lot of steel for between Flatbed cars and Coil cars. I counted 46 Coil cars out of curiosity but they definitely emptied the yard building that train. And the 2nd one with all the AUTORACKS certainly didn't leave many for anyone else! Nice job as always JT and appreciate your time and effort!

Sadly CSX is one of the RR's that doesn't have "heritage" paint schemes( they do have special markings on some, but it's still CSX paint ) they do have the police/first responders/ military vet schemes. 👍 I would love to see a Chessie system or a WMD loco!!

Thank you for going to Hamilton, Ohio 22 September 2022 and capturing these two CSX trains at the crossings that were being repaired. The Heaton Street crossing looked like it would be finished that day. I would presume that they would not take the barricades down until the next day to give the asphalt time to settle. The gate runners at Heaton Street will have less wear and tear on their car suspensions now. Both trains were long. I would not be surprised if that second train of auto racks was two miles long like you mentioned in your comments.

I think they are starting to recognise me. Last week I had a railroader ask me not to film him because he didn't have his safety vest on. I didn't know that was a rule so I deleted my video. With cold weather coming up it is time to put on a jacket lol

JT: CSX has torn up & replaced a most of the crossings in my home town of Plymouth, MI. They still have a couple more to do. Also, replace some rails, with new welded rail. I was just at Fostoria, Ohio on Saturday, but only videoed 3 trains in 2-1/2 hours after the Model Train show there. Great job on this video! Joe Bliss (caseyjones1950 on RU-vid)

GBW, HI !! Here in Green Bay the C.N. recently also rebuilt 2 crossings downtown on Walnut St. And Dousman St. on the original C&NW line that was the very 1st rr in G.B. WAY BACK in November 1862 during the Civil War that was a vital supply route for the North because before shipping was on the Fox River, or on the wagon routes, thus now in 2022, is the 160th Anniversary of the Original CNW RR in G.B.!!-!

Great video, enjoyed watching. CSX as NS are rebuilding crossings. this is good to see as many are in real need of replacing. MOW crews are stretched thin. . Many areas are over-grown and need to be cleaned up as well, brush cutting and removal of old R/R items blocking view of the tracks at crossings. I see many of your cars and trains as well way down here on the A-Line in SC. Thanks for your wonderful videos. Take care out there and hope to see you next time you get in our neighborhood..
