Im a med student (not a doctor yet lol) and I also had the same surgery JT had in high school. I told people I was expecting 4-6 weeks for him. Maybe 6 is more realistic for a catcher but a month isn’t out of the realm of possibility for a guy like Realmuto. I was back in 4 weeks in high school.

@@jeremylawrence9270 it really depends on how much of the cartilage was torn. if it was a lot, there may be a longer recovery but after a menisectomy, you feel pretty good once the initial incisional pain is gone. the pain comes from the loose cartilage going into the joint. once it's gone, the pain largely goes away. if it had to be repaired (cartilage sewn back into the bone) his season would be done. but that would only be necessary if a lot of cartilage was torn from the bone. so luckily he got it done early and not too much cartilage was torn which usually happens from long term wear and tear

Good News w Relamuto out , the teams ERa will drop. Bad news this team lacks hitting , even w Trea Turner return , Dahl off to great start but I'm not impressed everyone that comes up does this , Clemens, Hall , Wilson all came up like gangbusters , Trade deadline get Luis Robert or a hitter of that caliber , Luis Robert is a 30 Hr a yr guy he's also young , 3 yrs left on small contract , also hes available.

I have medical experience and agree that one month is VERY “iffy” to return to catching after this knee surgery. More like 6 weeks is typical. I wonder if other teams are going to go after Stubbers with plate collisions. Just some paranoid thinking I guess.
