The 'T' brace on the screen goes over the dowel peg in the middle. The screen sits flush up to the middle bar of the table, therefore it's the same placement and registration each time.
I started out using quilters spray adhesive, but I wouldn't flash dry with it, it's not made for the high heat and worry it may be flammable. There are also double sided paper adhesives you can look at using. Some have even suggested watered down Elmer's school glue, but I haven't tired that. After a year of printing, I just recently started using textac, so don't be afraid to try whatever you can get access to!
They are water based inks. I haven't had any issues not having 'off contact' as long as my ink consistency is correct. I did try plastisol, and had a lot more difficulty. I would need to tape washers or have another way to register off contact for printing with plastisol.
I'll keep this in mind for the next one. I took this as a timelapse, so they're actually individual photos streamed together to make a video. If I slow it down, it becomes choppy. 😕
