I did this method for one season. A 3-step aider with only a lineman’s can be very sketchy, especially in wet conditions with slicker bark. Your foot can so easily slip on bark as you shift weight. In those instances I HIGHLY recommend using a tether to make that move.. After that realization, I jumped on the one-sticking train and haven’t looked back. Way safer, climb higher, less gear, less weight.
I’m runnin the .75 with 2 14 inch compacts each with a cable aider and a cranford rope step. Gets me to 14ft pretty easily. Could never really get use to the webbing/amsteel multi step aiders. Also the way you secure the sticks to the stand in the last video was the perfect solution for me I hate using the j hooks in the dark, I had a strap stager from G3D laying around and made use of it👍🏻
What was that you said about genesis 3 printing? I dont understand what exactly happened when you put the strap on the tree before hanging the stand? What strap was that?
It’s called the strap stager, it allows you to hang the strap around the tree without fighting the tree and stand. It’s a game hanger for me personally and allows myself to not have to awkwardly try to hang a stand which means for a more safer setup. Def worth buying
I can get 8ft per stick, so 16ft here plus an additional foot or so once I step up into the stand. The overall height is really determined on how high the hunter can reach but in most applications I’m really only using the 3 step aider off the first stick and hanging around that 14-15 ft range.
