Which terminal is your Copa flight? Don’t be mislead by the stated departure or arrival terminals number. Transiting, changing flight, transferring flights with no baggage to collect.
Well now you will have to make an update to the new immigration updates. No automatic 90 days, you might get 15. Also cash at entry increases from 500 to 1,000.
Thanks for the heads-up. Where did you learn that from? I must be missing something, I have seen nothing from Migracion or lawyers on that. Also there is no fixed cash sum, there is a minimum of $500 (or if it has changed then $1000) which they use only as a starting point, but the requirement is “enough” cash, credit, or bank balance on a card, for you particular stay in Panama.
Great video! I will be flying through Tocumen later this year on COPA. I will have a 3-hour layover. It would be great if I could leave the airport to see a few sights in Panama, that are not too far from the airport. Even if it's just to get some authentic Panamanian cuisine, and then return to make my flight. Based on security when coming and going, and based on the airport location, is this such a far-fetched plan?
I always allow a big margin of safety when it comes to flights, because the cost of missing one can be significant. I would recommend keeping to the immediate vicinity and you could get some local food to eat. I would not go further than Metromall (about 10mins drive in perfect conditions). And I would check local news and traffic pages for any adverse conditions like protests, heavy rain, strikes. If I had 3hrs I would want to be back after 1hr.
I apologize if this is off task but I have a question that you could possibly answer. I've looked into flights to boquete and they are pretty expensive from the states roughly $1,500 round trip. But if you fly into Panama City and then catch a connecting flight to David, it seems to be a lot less expensive. Is this something that you can speak to?
You’re right, however depending where your David flight departs, bear in mind you may need to travel between airports (although this is a breeze normally but check for weather, flooding, protests etc). The only benefit of connecting flights in same airport bought on one ticket with one airline as one trip with same or partner airline is that if your initial flight is delayed or cancelled they will have the problem of arranging your connecting journey, and sometimes they will even delay connecting flight for you to catch or get you a hotel if that’s the case.
Domestic flights without checking who is flying and if they are on a blacklist/watchlist, wanted criminal, and so on? Then the airport would need to be constructed differently so that certain gates and all the areas beyond security would be separated for dom only, reducing the efficiency of the airport. I could go on… The main point being a plane is capable of flying anywhere, including abroad, with anyone on, once airbourne. A member of a Mexican cartel gave a demonstration this week in fact.
Hi .. Sorry still a bit confused. I am flying from New York to Ecuador via Panama. I arrived to T2 Copa and then I am supposed to transfer to T1, should I need to pass customs and collect my baggage in T2 and recheck in T1?
hello 👋🏻 can you update us on your trip? how was everything with the layover? were 2 hours enough to find your next gate? and did you have to claim your baggage? thank you
The question was clear 🙂do you need to go through customs/immigrations process if you gonna change the terminals to follow transit flight 🙂or u still need full context
