There is an other gate, I recall, wich "will remains closed until a catholic monarc sits again on the throne of England". Note that the Bear gate of Traquair House refers to a Stuart monarch, and this other to a Catholic monarc. I remember have seen this sentence graved in an iron door, I do not where. Perhaps in a book of English arquitecture. Is it real or I dreamed it?
Hey didn't Queen Mary (Stewart) II count as a Stewart monarch? She was joint ruler with her husband. Some people don't like female monarchs however and don't think they could. As the father of three girls, I would disagree! Ha...
