You need to do a test with Skelos Cultist Master on. Those who choose Well-Trained will 100% wear Skelos. Statistically, that's one well trained with ~250% damage vs a war party of 200% damage output. That will be 10x more persuasive. Though, seeing as how they performed in your video, I do believe the final result will remain the same. Well-Trained doesn't stand a chance because he literally can't stand up... but in pve, things might be a little different
Yea I was using 1 buffed thralll...moved to 2 like 2 weeks ago...so much better..better dps, survivability and storage...use 2 bearers and you got tons of storage
The problem is that you are only testing the thralls themselves and not including the player and his or her stats. War party doesn't allow your character stats to effect your thralls. So no follower damage potion or follower damage armor for you. That said....It means you will be able to spec yourself for damage. I've seen what a well trained thrall can do to a boss if it really has everything going for it with maxed corruption and all. It can absolutely destroy the arena champion with your help. However two thralls are weaker overall....The amount of interruption they cause make up for that and with maxed corruption you can dish out insane amounts of damage too. In the end it does come down to what you like and what type of build you have. I use two thralls because I like having more space to stash items when I run out of space. Not to mention....every time you ask your follower to follow you it has to heal up quite a bit because of the hp increase in well trained.
Running with 2 is also simply more fun. Different combos is hilarious. Greater Rhino with the smallest Scorpion. Sky's the limit with pet combos. RH with around 70 in agi, Katana, CB with 60 in str, Havoc and Malice. Great fight animations, that. Or 2 RH's with Katanas. That's a blast also. All different sorts of pairings. Fun stuff
I thank you Firespark & Wak. I play PvE only. I switched to 2 thralls several weeks ago & i totally agree that they get the job done faster against bosses & mobs. I am one of those players that does get in the fight with my followers & will next be setting 1 of the 2 to protect me, just to see how it goes.
Also I've always given my thralls the aja's bane in the past. I fight a lot of skeletons. Also switched to PC and that tenderizer must've gotten some love recently because it was never that good on the PlayStation. Thanks for the video Firespark and Wak. Love both of yalls content
War party is, in my experience, always the better choice over Well Trained EXCEPT when running Zombies. For some reason, the Well-Trained perk seems to have a greater effect on zombies than it does on thralls and, since you can have 3 zombies even without War party, it feels like the 3 zombies + Well Trained may be better than 4 zombies with War party.
I would go with the 2 thralls on that one, as they have armour where zombies do not. especially if you've got them in decent epic armour with like, a 1700 armour rating.
That said....I do believe two thralls are overall better than one stronger thrall.....more general interruption causing periods where more damage can be done.
This is good info, but this is static. Well-Trained is going to fit in better with your average raid/PvP experience that is often very mobile where individual hits matter more because of, well, healing and cover. War Party is handily better at PvE, with definite PvP applications, just don't expect another player with a Well-Trained Thrall to stand still for you.
I don't know if someone notice but if you use spell to be invisable then ride your horse with command mount (hold E then select mount) your horse will be considered as invisable also and monsters will not attack you even that your horse still can be seen 🧐🧐🧐
Not sure if I agree to the PvE message that 2 thralls defeat a boss faster than 1 thrall. With this setup this might be true, but is it still with corrupted stats? With the stacking of follower damage and frenzy you should be able to kill pretty fast. I run around with a accursed berserker and corrupted vit, str and auth (15*3) who wears a two-handed sword and most bosses on Siptah die very fast. I think I will have to try this with two berserkers next.
Heya FireSpark, great video :) Confirms what I've been thinking for a while now. Have you looked into any of the high damage animals for PvE bosses or PvP thrall fights? The special named dogs in Siptah (like Brutus) and the Greater Sabertooth can do some crazy damage at level 20. I've been wondering if, since the 3.0 thrall nerf, they might be on-par now? I'd love to see a video comparing them, or just to hear your thoughts on it.
Umm. Took 2 thralls against the mountain of Rock. On Barbaric. They got shredded. Switched to well trained with one of them and she took out the mountain. So many different variables
Uckle Puck vor 1 Tag Hey FireSpark, There is definitely a big question left in your video. What is when you choose to boost the single thrall and then use the full Zombie Party + Abysal Demon? Do they get boosted as well? Could be probably a killer combo🤔
That's not true war party negates damage from the perk itself Not from your gear You can still boost there damage with potions there gear and your gear I test it many times
So, which is it? Both u guys have claimed to have tested this. U both can't be right. According to the description of the War Party perk, armor and potions would not apply. So I'm leaning towards believing Zazoreal. And that would make sense. However, I have no idea. Anyone have corroborating evidence?
@@Bubbles99718 read the perk again It says "your statistics no longer influence your followers damage output" Is talking about YOUR STATISTICS!!!! PERK WISE NOT ITEMS If that was the case it would of said not effected by any buffs or gear Check your self pls then comment
@@Bubbles99718 Anything that is an effect applied to you, so your gear, your potions, your food e.t.c., doesn't apply when you're using War Party. All of those things affect *your* 'follower damage' stat, and your stats don't affect followers. Gear, potions, food e.t.c. applied directly to the thrall however, will still function, so you can still get up to a respectable damage boost on the war party thralls.
Even though you hate this topic, Im gonna keep asking for it do some test with archers since the dmg multiplier is the same now between melee and ranged. I assume melee will always have higher damage and lower kill times but I'm most curious to see how close the gap is now. Over all built wise the archers would have taunt turned off and the player would be tanking with w/e weapon, probably a mace because sunder.
@Firespark81 - I'm pretty sure that you can level both thralls, at the same time (with war party), just as fast as one thrall. Just try to kill a few of the monkeys with 1 thrall and then the same number of monkeys while having 2 thralls and see how much XP they get.
@FireSpark81 Hey there, live the videos on conan, ive seen in your recent sorcery video that you were casting escalations without needing the 20-40% corruption requirement and also casting without the need of pouches, could you please tell me what mod this was you were using? Thank you so much in advance! Keep up the good work.
I'm not sure about the escalations, but when you go to the admin panel there is a box below "cloak" and "god" to check "no spell costs". That'll take care of the pouch need.
@@Bubbles99718 That's going to depend on weather he was filming on solo for an informative video or on a server to gain an advantage over other players. Playing solo I will totally fly around on creative mode because I enjoy building, but not farming. As far as I am concerned I don't think it's cheating unless it's to gain advantage over someone else or credit for doing you didn't.
@@seamusoconaill8265 yep. Interesting topic actually. Turning the settings to make the game easier, your solo game, is that "cheating ". For me it takes a bit of the fun out of it. The obstacles are what makes it fun. U could spawn in all the Artifacts, remove your bracelet and whammo, the game is over.
@@Bubbles99718 I think context is everything in this discussion. First, what you define as fun (or I for that matter) is not universal. Based on your comment I assume you enjoy the challenge, but do you put your settings to barbaric with only 10% resources or experience gained? Probably not because at some point challenge becomes work well beyond fun. No, spawning in the relics and ending the game is not fun, but neither is working hard in real life to come home and work hard in your entertainment. Where you draw that line between too easy and too hard is how you should set up your game for your fun. In this case you were asking about a mod that would do exactly what the admin control does. Where is the difference? If you download a mod so you don't have to farm for the resources and carry the weight of the bags and I admin control 'no spell costs' either for easy relaxing solo play or for testing to better understand how best to use sorcery on a server is there really a difference?
Wait, was Wak not decked out in thrall damage gear? And what about corrupted authority? You can get a lot more damage boosts stacked on a single thrall especially when you have frenzy than you can with the 2 thralls. I feel like the benefits of single thrall builds weren’t utilized properly in this video.
You are correct! :) I just did a test after getting linked this video and the single thrall came out with a whopping 74 DPS lead in a PvE setting compared to 2 thralls in war party. (the 2 thralls together did 129 dps, the one thrall did 203) The radical difference you see here is because of the maces providing hyper armor on every swing, thus the 1 thrall spends more time being staggered / sitting on the floor so it's more of a stagger race rather than a dps race and true enough that is completely valid and works like that in PvP. When you isolate them though and play to their strengths in a PvE setting, the story is completely different
@@XevyrPlays yeah, this was posted in my server discord and it didn’t seem to change people’s preferences for thrall numbers once the mentioned arguments were made. Also, most people are now running maces on their thralls, lol. Thanks for the numbers! That is really helpful.
I typically run 2 greater pets over 2 humans, namely I like animals as well as greater animals dont get CC'd as much. But bo you cant command them separately or at least I have not found a way, including trying different behavior, once I command attack both run in and fight
Hello. you can put one trhall behaviour to "no attacking" and the other on "defense only". This way the first thrall will only attack when you order to, the second one will attack the target you are attacking or the npc that attack you. Both will attack a distant target on direct order. ( sorry for my poor english).
Whilst your video is entirely factual and i appreciate it, have you played PVP against players thralls? Sure they can kill each other but you can avoid their thralls with so much ease they will never hit you. Get cats!
Coming back to conan after quite a long hiatus. Is there armor or perks that will increase the damage of the big cats? Rolling with sabretooths sounds really fun lol. Thanks for the advice on the cats, going to try this for sure.
I'm wondering 2 things, are the buffs actually working for the war party build even though it says they don't? And if everything is working correctly then it seems Funcom needs to buff the single thrall build to be at least 3/4 as strong as the 2 thrall build, from what I was seeing it looks like it's only about 50% which is why I asked about buffs working for 2 thralls unintentionally.
Then that means the players need to get involved in the fight. The player with war party could focus more on stengthening themselves, they would be more geared toward buffing themselves and have high armor, eating food/elixirs that buffs themselves, while well trained player has gear that buffs followers and food that buffs followers (since food that buffs ur followers also dont work on war party). Its still a trade off.
3 will always have an advantage? What if you focus one 1 weaker thrall? In PVE if the boss decides one of my war party thralls is tastier then the other I have to run away or lose a thrall because he's accidentally exposed the problem with War Party lol
If one is weaker then disable the irritate perk on that thrall, the other one with irritate active should be a le to hold aggro along with you taking aggro some times
@@1815432 That rt there is a powerful nugget of wisdom. That irritate perk might keep us out of harms way but thralls don't have the sense to run away when getting slammed. And since this freaking game bugs out so often and we can't see their health bar we can don't know how much trouble they are in and don't move them. Annoying lesson to learn
@@1815432 Yes but they're all weaker then the 1 thrall with Well Trained, that's what I'm getting at. If you target War Party one at a time you'll cut the DPS in half.
Certain thralls will boost Agi, certain thralls will boost Strength. Generally speaking Cimmerian Berserkers and Dalinsia boost Strength. Relic Hunters boost Agility as 'top tier examples'. Aside from the starting buff to Agility I don't think I have ever put a relic hunter on the ground that got growth rate above 60% in Strength. Similar, I don't think I have put a Dalinsia or Berserker on the ground who got above 60% for Agility. Food and Potion add 30% to either. Armor side, right now Agi is capped at 25% where as Strength is 31% through armor. You can get any of the 3 mentioned above to 75-80% damage bonus with some casual gameplay grind. The game is so over tuned right now, do what you want. I put a thrall on the ground. If she has that slow, dopey voice, I break bond. That's my measuring stick.
@@emel7341 Agility is easy right now. Any crafted short sword. If you have a T4 bladesmith on the blacksmith bench, add an adv or master damage upgrade and it gets them to 70 damage there about. (depends on Adv or master) Strength. Lemurian Axe, Tenderizer or Telith Sorrow. They are all crafted and it comes back to the Tier 4 Blacksmith with the little dagger icon (bladesmith) Again, it's over tuned and the variations in how they attack, when they attack, it isn't going to have deep impact on the end result. It's minutiae to me. Trash mobs will melt and bosses, the biggest influence in the speed of a battle is how many hits you get in.
@@emel7341 Two handed and mace are all strength weapons so stick to Cimmerian Berserkers and or Dalinsia. My default armor for them is Silent legion head and chest. Pictish warchief on the other 3 slots. Exotic feast and Black Lotus potion. They will be firing on all cylinders with that set up.
2 thralls are a waste in a pvp battle. The whole authority is a waste in pvp. It's easy to evade thralls and you just gotta kill the player and the thralls are sitting ducks
These aren't the exact same thralls. They have a window of 300 hp between the 3 of them but the Well Trained one should have nearly 20 more vitality. What are the individual stats and perks for each thrall?
I didn't see any PVP in this. And no, thralls don't destroy anything in PVP, AI is just trash compared to a player. All the thralls can do is run in circles like headless chickens.
One thrall can also be op given that the player gears into follower damage and drinks the potions. Those things don't work on war party. But yea two are better overall due to the sacrifice needed to bring one up to a point where it can challenge two. Plus more thralls mean more interruption of enemy attacks.
You must not forget its much easier to lose 2 war party thralls then it is 1 well trained. I use War Party too but you have to herd 2 stupid thrall AIs around now and that's 2 that can get stuck, or decide that they actually CAN swim while the other stands there at the water staring while the mob chasing you falls in on them lol.
Or on siptah: when fighting bird boss on top of building, one thrall pops up there to help you, the other pops below and gets killed by the judge+skeletons (unless you kill them all first)
2 thralls is nice...3 - 4 zombies is better. I have some chonky boys with 16 - 19k health and 1200 armor. I'm sure No funcom will patch the ability to put armor on zombies. I'm utterly wrecking other player bases with zombies. LOL
@@Firespark81 I don' t even have the zombies in legendary armor, just regular tier stuff and pushing 1100 - 1200 armor with good perks. I hope funcom doesn't patch them because if you forget to take the armor off it is lost, which is why I put the cheap stuff on them. Still, having THAT much health AND armor seems an little OP. They hit like trucks against unarmored stuff but they lack arpen. Which I guess makes sense, seeing how they are going around B slapping everything to death. LOL What would be fun though is if they made gloves you can put on them so they do bludgeon damage so you can knock out other thralls with them. Though, the thought of zombies runnign around with boxing gloves on is hilarious. Oh, and a side note, I so far get the best zombies from the T3s around Sep. I haven't had a chance to try out any around Mounds and Volcano yet.
Whats stats get nullified when using war party? Does the gear I'm wearing that adds 50% more follower damaged get cancelled or is it something else? The game doesn't really explain it well.
