Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Very interesting and visual. It becomes more clear how to use mnemonic techniques. Good luck in your business and all in your life.

What about adding more information to each element? For example, the periodic table has groups in vertical columns and periods in horizontal rows. How can this info be stored? I can guess 2 methods: 1. Associate a group and period to each item as you walk through your palace. Unfortunately this feels like it would be too hard to remember since the groups are "just numbers" - but I have a feeling you would have a way to make it easier. 2. Create a separate palace for each group/period. One palace for "Group 1" ... "Group 18" and then "Period 1" ... "Period 7". 25 palaces! Maybe you would then link them to the original palace somehow? Of course you will also have to store that there are 18 groups and 7 periods somewhere. Would you use any of these methods or do you have an alternative? Some kind of chunking perhaps?

I am going to try/practice using the memory palace method and "trust" the process. I've seen other videos with other instructors teaching the same method. It seems so nonsensical to me to break down information/words and "visualize other objects or words" just to remember "one bit of information." It seems like I'm giving myself "more stuff to remember" in place of the original "memory intent." I must remember, "trust the process." Wahi' Valleys

It seems nonsensical to you because you don't know how memory works. we are advanced monkeys, vivid imagery will obviously be easier to remember than any string of symbols or sequence of encoded sounds will be.

I started to avoid the term "memorizing" in my courses. I just say "We are going to create 20 little stories to train creativity" Afterwards people are surprised and ask me why they still know it :D...they still don't trust the method...

Hello, thank you for sharing your techniques! Could you give advice on how to create memory palaces from street view using google? thank you

I really appreciated this walkthrough but I have a concern about the memory palace method. Some of the keyword associations feel too forced or arbitrary. For example, Beryllium at 6:52 is associated with berries on a mirror. I do understand that having "gross berries" smeared all over the mirror would be something to easily remember - BUT the problem is that this VR image of the mirror does not have any actual smeared berries on it. I imagine returning to this memory palace and looking at the mirror and not retrieving my keyword because there is no typical association between a mirror and berries. Maybe if I could interact with the VR space and actually smear berries on it then I would feel better about committing to the memory palace technique. Do any known tools offer this level of interaction? Or does the method still work well without it?

Thanks for your question. Of course a real interaction would put another level of link between the mirror and the berries. However the idea is that if you imagine something in your mind and if you train that it becomes more and more visual and clear. Imagination can be completly enough. The key is that you should not only "see" this in your mind. Try to imagine how it would feel on your hands. How it would smell. How it would taste if you would start licking the mirror :D . Using a Memory Palace is more than visualizing. It's also about your "feeling" of an association.

@@MemorysportsTV OK so more senses used means more solid connections and an increased chance to associate X with Y in the future - got it. Makes sense. Have you had any issues with Matterport 360 property tour sites disappearing? After all, this type of VR content can be removed whenever they want. I'm anticipating that this happens after a property has sold and I'm concerned I'll lose access to whatever memory palace I come up with.

Is there a software that allows you to place the item in the room that you are using? An AR program or something?
