I want to watch a TwoSet Fanfic reading part 2, but Ray has to choose his favorite story for them. So Brett and Eddy don’t have to randomly choose lol.
Most probably he was hitch hiking his brother’s cello lessons several times and then stopped. He wouldn’t have gotten anything from those lessons anyway without continuous practice.
Hilary: "Don't touch your nose or hide your mouth when lying" Eddy: "Starts telling the story and immediately rubs the earlobe" Hilary: *chuckles but still plays it nicely to the end*
Brett's lies: "I don't like bubble tea." Hilary's lies: "I played in Vienna when I was 12." Eddy's lies: "Some years ago - never mind how long precisely - having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world. And it was there on the roiling waves of an unruly sea where mine eyes first chanced upon a mermaid..."
the strategies: hilary - keep it simple but outrageous brett - blurry childhood stories that are lies on technicality eddy - DETAILS, DETAILS, HERE'S A WHOLE ESSAY PILED WITH SPECIFICS AND I WILL ONLY MAKE ONE OF THEM FALSE
@@victoromodiale The one I was in actually sent us a small book of works by this obscure local composer a month before, telling us that the piece we will be sightreading is going to be written by this composer, so at least we weren't going in totally blind...
@@ninjaaron totally! I just mean that there are so many soloists who might think that two-set is somehow beneath them. She’s arguably the best in the world and she’s genuinely having fun with them. It says a lot about her as a person. :)
Tbh I think a lot of people know more about the US geography than the geography of other countries that aren't close to them (for those in such countries). I know a lot about the US and where a lot of the states are, mainly due to internet exposure. But I can't tell you the provinces of France for example even though I live close to there. I obviously don't know about one specific place called Lexington in Virginia though lol.
@@aceatlasska4343 well i on the other hand can't tell you much about the US, neither can I tell you anything about France even though it is 2 hours away from me but i can tell you about Italy, and a little place called Albania that is a whole other country.
14:28, after Hilary literally told them about queues that give away when your lying, Eddy touches his right ear whilst telling his first story (which turned out to be a lie). Also, right after Eddy touched his ear, Hilary smiled like she already knew because of that queue.
i was ready for them to be an old married couple again, and they didnt disappoint half the video was just "i had to think of something you dont know" "oh i already know this story" and "what i didnt know that"
Actually, there was at least one more time. He was at the airport, waiting to take a plane, when he realized he had left his violin at home. Everybody left without him (they were on tour with the AYO) and he had to take another flight all by himself later to join the other members of the orchestra ! 😅 They talked about it in their very well-named video "Oops, forgot the violin at home..."
Two truths and one lie: - I have an exam to study for - I am watching TwoSet as soon as they upload - I have plenty of time left Edit: I actually did pretty well! Keep the hard work guys and have a lovely week
So Brett has learnt the violin, piano and cello, played table tennis competitively and studied in school on a scholarship. *self esteem left the chat.*
I’ll help you further by copy pasting his achievements from Twoset website: One of his highlight performances was at the 2014 G20 Summit in the presence of Obama, Merkel, Rousseff, Abe and other world leaders. He made his debut performing the Tchaikovsky violin concerto in 2012 with the Queensland Conservatorium Orchestra and later performed Mozart's Concerto No. 4 with Corda Spiritus. Since then he has worked professionally as a violinist in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. He was concertmaster of the Australian Youth Orchestra and the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony. As a 2013 honours graduate at the Queensland Conservatorium, he was awarded the prestigious Brisbane Club Scholarship.
@@ajchandra7735 haha I read that a long time ago and I thought "nah it's okay he did all of that when he was quite a bit older than me. I still have time" 😭😭😭
@@ladym.7594 He was concertmaster of Sydney Symphony Orchestra fellowship too, and once was asked to substitute SSO concertmaster. there are more still but I lose track already…
@@ajchandra7735 Wait wait wait he subbed in for SSO concertmaster? Where do they talk about that? That must be a pretty crazy story :o The only vids I've seen of him playing with the SSO he was quite far back in the 1st or 2nd violin section.
Hilary Hahn is the type of musician hollywood needs to copy in their movies, i grew up my whole life thinking soloists were snobby arrogant condescending jerks, but it's totally not true, all of the people 2set have brought on the show were really nice, down to earth people, nothing like in the movies :O
Actually, once when I was in California, I was talking to an american piano teacher, and he told me, that Hungarian composers are his heroes. He made me realize that being a hungarian can be a flex. But yeah, this detail about Hilary doubles it. :)
What caught my attention was she said it was before iron curtain had fallen which is not true. It was almost 5 years since iron curtain fell at that time.
Your friendship is so wholesome. The way you each can't believe there are things you still don't know about each other cracks me up lol. This video is friendship goals.
My friend left her viola in a parking lot after a rehearsal, drove ten miles, remembered, came back and it was still there, lol. But then, it was a viola lol :)
Eddy: I once forgot my violin at a train station I once forgot my violin at an airport I once forgot my violin on a bullet train Me a pianist: oh to be this sacrilegious
7:55 Hilary Hahn is a genius. She used the correct logic strategy from the Monty Hall problem (the one with three doors). Eddy knew that one of Brett's statements was true, so he asked Hilary to guess first. Then, Eddy revealed that Brett's story about playing viola at 18 was the one he previously believed to be true, leaving Hilary's initial guess as a possibility, in addition to Eddy's guess. So, from Hilary's point of view, the odds of Eddy's guess being correct were statistically higher because he wouldn't have revealed if he had known Hilary's guess to be true. So, to maximize her odds of being right, Hilary switched her guess.
@@fn_main Your argument has some point. However, all the Monty Hall problem relies on is actually a motive for Eddy to hint at brett's 2nd story being true, it does not depend on Eddy choosing the 3rd answer. Summary of Monty-Hall problem: 2 goats, 1 car behind 3 doors. Choose one door you think the car is behind. The door you didn't choose with a goat is opened. Switching doors after the reveal increases your chances of getting car. Answer proven statistically and through maths. In conclusion, your suggestion depends on Eddy remembering/guessing the correct answer, while Monty-Hall offers fixed probability for all choices of the sort, and it's chance of going wrong increases with the familiarity of Eddie and Brett. Since I guess Eddie and Brett did not meet before 15, I'd argue that Eddie does not have reliable clues to gauge the truthfulness of 1 and 3, and that your suggestion has a significant chance to be wrong, and that Monty-Hall's problem's solution is the best solution.
10:07 I need to think of stuff that you don't know Brett. I cried. I cried for this precious friendship and tight bonding!! I'm literally in tears right now.
@@curio_sphere Eddy mentioned it in their video "5 things we wish we knew learning the violin". It's when they talk about the 4th point (center of gravity in the left hand), beginning at around 15:20 in the video.
The game is called "twoset overshares to Hillary Hahn and lingling wannabees" nothing wrong with that Hillary: "Touching face gives lies away" Eddt: immediately touches face
I'm a teacher, and when my students are working I will often put classical music on in the background. Most recently, I put on a Sibelius concerto with Hilary Hahn as the soloist. One of my students got barely any work done because he was more invested in watching Hilary perform (it was just a time-filler art activity, so I didn't mind much).
@@woobiemoobie8884 It's gonna be mendelssohn, maybe the ysaye will come up later or who knows miracles happen and he might play it as some kind of encore.
Love the exploding sound effect after we found out there was two separate incident about the violin left on the train and the train station. And brett in shocked with hands on his head with his jaw dropped 😂😂😂😂. Props to editor-san. Making small changes that flow so well almost unnoticed but making such a different with emotional ride and fun. Fyi I'm into broadcasting and live streaming so I appreicate so many visual / audio effect in sooooo many of the videos
today I had a terrible day and totally felt what another linglingwannabe said in comments in another video...this is my safe place too bro...thanks for your passion and videos and everything guys and for Hilary of course! haha :)
Thank you 🙏🏽🥰, Hilary, Brett, & Eddy! Also I purchased her album as I watched her RU-vid video of unboxing her copy of the album. It was super duper cool learning about the emotional backstory of a certain piece and that it was composed specifically for her to play. Just beautiful! I encourage everyone to check out her album. Have a lovely day. 🎼🎵🎶🎻🎻🎻🥰🥰🥰
Hilary is just a star on every level! so beautiful, so massively talented, such good humour, and has delighted me endlessly on YT with her performances, mainly in Germany. Bravo Hillary.
2 Truths: if you can play it slowly, you can play it quickly and for achieving perfection you must practice 40 hours a day. 1 lie: this channel isn't entertaining
It seems that most people don't even know that guitar is a classical instrument. I have seem this request many times; it would be great to see them review Recuerdos de la Alhambra or something from Dyens.
In the last round, after Hilary gave the little comment about how touching his nose could indicate that what Eddy said was a lie, once Eddy begins to tell his story he touches the bottom of his ear with his hand and Hilary lets out a laugh. Did she realize that it was a sign that Eddy was lying?
No, not quite, Hilary, it was 4-5 years *after* the iron curtain had fallen. Hungary probably still looked mostly the same as before the curtain came down, though: splendid old buildings but worn out and dirty. The Communist regime in Hungary ended in October 1989. The Berlin wall opened in November 1989 and the first free elections since 1932 were held in East Germany in March 1990. Musically, there was a big The Wall concert in Berlin in July 1990, a few short months before the reunification and Scorpions came out with Winds of Change in January 1991. The hardliner Communist coup against Gorbachev was in August 1991. The Soviet Union gradually dissolved after that and Russia officially became the successor state to the Soviet Union by December 31, 1991.
