I am presently learning French in evening classes. I am also trying to learn from other outlets and have found (in my opinion), Alexa to be best for her explanations and therefore my understanding (most of the time anyway😂). However, apart from not using Car at the beginning of a sentence, am I the only one who still finds this confusing? Im glad Alexa said not to worry you can use either one😂

It's definitely not clear - cut, but like most things in life you'll find it starts to come together and make more sense to you over a longer period of time you'll find in most cases due to knowledge acquisition of the french language itself. So ever get discouraged.. !

Étrange que car et plus formel en français mais il est plus court que parce que. En anglais, dire "cuz" est plus court que "because."

Bonjour, 'à cause de' is somewhat different. You can not replace 'à cause de' by 'parce que' ou 'car' as the sentence structure is completely different. 'because of' as different meaning to 'because' ; 'Because of' means 'due to' so express that something bad/negative happened so when something bad happens, you can place blame using 'à cause de'.

I think it depends on your sentence, but it's too difficult to explain it correctly as I'm not a teacher (for example, in the latest sentence, "as" can be translated as "car" but also as "parce que", "comme" might work but sounds weird to me. But if you say "As I'm not a teacher, it's too difficult to explain it correctly", you should definitly say "COMME je ne suis pas prof, (...)" (maybe "parce que" works but don't even try to say it or it will sound weird to a French native speaker) . There's maybe a rule but as a native speaker, I don't pay attention while talking... sorry :X
