I LOVE my 1DX3 and the R3 just wasn’t ENOUGH to get me to upgrade…it’s a fantastic body though! It also gives me the tingles just thinking about what the R1 is going to be like 🤤

I own 2 R5's and am planning on selling one for the R3, we have a lot of stock here in Toronto. I just don't know if I want to spend an extra $4k! I'm a wedding photographer mainly and do corporate/promo videography.

I think that it might be worth it! Extra battery life, exponentially less chance of overheating and a bit more durable!

I'm a hobbyist wildlife photog. Just the EVF lag of mirrorless cameras is the main reason I'm DSLR forever. I want to see my subjects at the speed of light and capture decisive momets instantly.

Is there lag? I honestly dont use the EVF ever haha, I honestly use LCD most of the time

@@Minhute, check the two systems side by side, you'll detect it easily. I knew about it nevertheless, tested it. The difference is clear. Nikon already acknowledged that EVF lag is the main limitation of mirrorless cameras which cannot be fixed. We DSLR shooters see the subject at the speed of light through OVF. Nothing can beat it.

Would you suggest the 1 dx mark iii or r 3 cause you can get an 1 dx mark iii for a lot cheaper tbh

The R3! I replaced my 1DX3 with the R3 and couldn’t have been happier. The 1DX3 was really bad in my opinion, even the 1DX2 was better

@@Minhute I have used the 1 dx mark iii in the wild it gives good results but do you think the eos r 3 is an affordable camera 😂 tbh it is the most expensive one I could just buy the r 3 instead

I bought the 1DX3 at brand new price so it was literally the same for me haha, gotnit once it released. It really wasn’t good for me based on what I had to do. It was a good camera but with a lot of annoying pieces.

Yeah the articulating screen and wifi on the 1DX3 was the best features but besides that its basically a 1DX2 with 4K 60

@@taurohnyt617 love it. Terrible to put into a bag. Very large. Great with video and the different settings. Auto focus is very well. Although, I’ve had it switch focus on the wrong subject when I had 2 human faces closer in frame. Battery life great. Wish it had more megapixels. I know people with the R5 complain about the over heating and too big of a file. It does freeze sometimes and you need to remove the battery. Not sure why. Definitely over priced to be honest

Dynamic range sucks in video. Huge difference between r3 and C70 for example

@@Minhute what was your fix? I'm learning video with my R3 coming from photos. I was surprised at lack of dynamic range however assumed it was my exposure settings.

I own the R3 and it takes 80 to 120 hours to learn it. You mentioned low light focus. As John Greengo says, it's the best low light focusing camera in existence when it was brought out and probably is today. The color palette is good and an upgrade even for canon. Re your question about ISO access, ISO ls directly accessible through the wheel wrappes around the mode button. Still learning it but yeah, it's a beast. Great camera.

The canon R5 / R5C has dual native iso 800/3200 but the R3 doesn’t have it. What do you think the R5/R5C vs R3, which one performs better with high iso in video mode?

You're sharing good information but the sections sections showing the buttons and describing how the 2 cameras are different are all underexposed and difficult to see at all.

Honestly I’m comparing it to itself! I’ve noticed my DSLRs tend to degrade in their autofocus ability overtime for some of them.

I have this camera amd yes it does at 4k 120p but other raw shooting modes (for me limited testing) were okay. 120p however overheated VERY quick.

The 1DX3 also has silent shooting, just have to enable it.

The silent shooting isn’t as silent as the mirrorless cams though!

@@Minhute I’m sorry, but it’s the exact same, dead silent, no sound. If you still have your 1DX3 go pick it up. Go into live view, press menu, red menu 4, shutter mode. Switch to electronic. It’s the only way I’m able to shoot on set BTS photos.

You’re right totally forgot about the electronic shutter on the 1DX3! Forgot they implemented that haha, I haven’t used my 1DX3 in like a year 😔
