Thank you for this video. I have been looking for videos with people who have had their lock extensions for a while and didn't just cut them off weeks or a month later! Two years! That's awesome. This video really put me at ease for my loc extensions im getting next month on the 5th. P.s. You got a new sub 🥰
So glad you found it helpful. And I remember running into the same problem when I was getting ready to get mine...a lot of people cut them off by year 2 for different reasons. It will be 3 years for me in June...I may go 1 more year and cut them...we will see. Anyway...welcome to the loc family!! I hope you love it here 😉 Come back and let me know how you like them...and thank you for subscribing sis. 💜
Definitely an adjustment 😅 I got my loc extensions in December of 2021 so almost a year and half and I'm just now getting used the frizz, length, and having constant "loose" locs around the perimeter. And, the identity thing has been another difficult part of adjusting to loc extensions.
I find that other people tend to have more issues with locked hair than us locked heads... which is crazy, why does anyone care what someone else’s hair looks like... you just have to learn how to look at people with that “please don’t come for me” look... they know at that point that their opinion is irrelevant✌🏾
Your locs are beautiful ❤️ I think the hardest part about getting loc extensions for me would be the fact of getting some one else's hair and not knowing where the hair comes from or the state of the mental health of persons or if they were on medications or what kind of spirit of the people or just the thought of someone's else's hair is attached to mind. But everyone experience is different. Thank you for sharing.
Sameeee😭I’ll be getting mine installed soon and my even though she bought the human hair somewhere , I just don’t know where they’re coming from so I advice you to just pray and leave it to God.
I got my permanent loc extensions installed back in March and I have like a looser type texture loc. they were made to look like Lisa bonet type locs and on top of budding and frizz, I have a lot of bunching ! Some of my locs look like butterfly locs. And that was something I wasn’t prepared for. I thought loc extensions meant they come mature . But I learned otherwise. I’ve been told to wait at least a year before I decide to add dye to them just so they can mature some and be able to handle the color
Oh wow! We're they wrapped or crochet. And yea, I thought that as well but you definitely still go through ALL the phases. Be patient though...they will mature. And I would recommend waiting to color...let your locs fully loc..💛
Hello hun did you ever get rid of the smell that comes with the loc extensions,it’s been a week I had mines and I’m thinking of taking them down just because of the smell.Every time my hair gets wet even at the slightest it smells like corn chips 😷
Giiirrrlll...lol..sending you my prayers 🙏🏾 LOL. J/k.. Honestly I kept it styled as often as I could. I would also twist the frizz around my locs...but otherwise you gotta just go through the motions. It DOES get better...just be patient. Welcome to the loc family ❤🧡🙂
@@HealthyBrownGirls haha thank you! @ this point, I'll take all the prayers, love and light I can get. I've found doing braid outs helps to tame the frizz. thank you so much!!!
Oh no! Im sorry your loctitian didn't make you feel at ease and comfortable..I read your previous comment as well...if you want you can send it to my email in my about me section or my Instagram. I hope it's just the initial shock of a different style and not someone who is scamming people. Also..If the style hurts definitely have her or someone else redo it. Do you have other loctitians in your area?
I got my locs extensions today and I think my loctitian did rubbish. I have about two inches hair and I added 20 inches to it but she didn’t make the roots neat I don’t know if you understand what I am saying(the tips looks like I made regular braids instead of the knotless braids look),also I did the twist style and it hurts so bad. My loctitian is not experienced at all she doesn’t even know if I should wash it or not.. I am on the verge of tears😭😭😭😭
Oh no! So sorry to see this. What did you end up doing about your hair? 20 inch extensions is really long and might be to much tension on your hair, especially since it is short. I think 8-10 inches or shorter is a good starting length for short hair. Anyway, sorry for the super late response, Im in college so life gets busy. I hope everything worked out for you..
