I can imagine the local electric board sending a couple of electrical engineers round to find out exactly what is going on causing the huge power surges. Then them being invited in for a cup of tea and a look round and only leaving 6 hours later in total awe and promising to fit a bigger transformer and a special cable down the street on the quiet as a mark of respect.

I loved it when you tested it outside. Ships that were about 5,000 miles away probably saw it and went “There’s land over there, with a nutcase on it” 😆

Your electric bill must be something from a horror story.

This lamp is called a CP99. It's used in a fixture called an Arri T24 Fresnel. There is also a 24kw version available. It should NEVER be operated out of its fixture like this as they have a tendency to explode. Used for many years in the film industry, at least 20 of these lamps where used on the first Harry Potter film. Oh and it's a lamp not a bulb.

This man's harnessed the whole fucking sun in a bedroom. Imagine walking by at like 1 am, house is pitch black and them bam blinding light starts radiating from every window I don't know what I would think probably aliens. 😂

I too have that same bulb, just my bulb is made by Koto. I haven't been as nice to mine, but It still operates. A few filament supports are melted off. Enjoy your channel! Take care.

A lux meter would've been interesting. Also, imagine for a moment, putting that lamp facing downwards at an altitude of, let's say, 1500 ft above a town's center. You can leave out all the other street lighting. And you might even be able to wear sun glasses while driving.

I have worked for one of the oldest lamp companies and we had an even bigger incandescent light bulb with even bigger coils, but as far as I know without halogen gas fillings. It has a regular lightbulb shape but about 30 cm in diameter. Never saw it light up, but that is crazy to get those filaments to glow. Not filaments, but springs...;)
