i can imagine him being a gangsters "problem solver" talking to the "problem" he's about to "solve" and tell the "problem" exactly how he's going to "solve it"..
@@davadoff No, no need to thank me. It's not like there are phrases in every language that gain a widely understood meaning over time but don't necessarily adhere to their languages' grammatical rules. You know, languages are like code. Change one or two words and suddenly all meaning is completely lost and the sentence just turns into useless noise. What is common sense, after all?
holy shit you've made that thing perfectly. i was afraid you would close in those variacs but once i saw the blue lights and the clicking i knew you made it the best possible. the way the power cables come out the back is just so cool. i love how your house is basicly a museum of electrical infrastructure with all the bulbs and mercury arc rectifiers and fusses sitting about. they really are some of the most beautiful decorations. as for not having a diagram for wiring up the buttons, you already have the diagram in your head so if you tried to follow a piece of paper it would just be tedious and waste time. atleast thats how it is for me. i bet you've been building this thing in your head for years. i'm sorry things are still going rough for you. life can be a real bitch sometimes, computers too. i barely get my videos working due to compatability problems, i have to convert the video files like 3 times before i can upload. and i try to upload once a day so it reeeeaaally makes my blood boil sometimes. i do have to say your camera looks great. and the structure of this video is so well made. just don't feel like now that youve made such a nice video you always have to make your videos so nice. i would still enjoy even if you recorded on VHS haha. btw i think i may need to send you something to "fix" with your new power supply. i'm thinking maybe my 1960s powerdrill that always shocks me, that thing should take a lot of power before it pops. :D
Message read and understood, sounds like a man who has same video file issues lol, thank you, I will get to the bottom of this file format and interlace problem, Don't spend vast sums posting stuff! If its light and inexpensive, then no harm I guess.
***** don't worry about the cost, i might be able to write it off on taxes for my channel. turns out the bad power drill is burried in a storage shed. i'll spend a week or so pondering if maybe something else would look cooler when it fails. i'd definatly PM you before i mailed it though just to let you know what you'd be receiving.
I have insulators and powerline hardware sitting around my house as well as a powerline that I built across my backyard if your interested!! I haven't messed with my line in over a year but over the last few months I've been adding stuff to it the updates are on my channel. I also rebuilt my high voltage power supply so I could energize it- I had one just like it 5 years ago but scrapped it shortly after I built it- the only thing I kept from it was my 7,200Volt capacitor.
I always come back at these video's, this lad has so much knowledge and such a well proven skill set. Where did you go Photon, we need people like you in these dire times.
I really love your videos. I used to do some electrical experiments as a kid but my little battery powered utility lamp with a multiplier circuit attached pails in comparison to anything you've made.
I wonder what he did with all of his equipment. Maybe we should open a museum in his memory. I know he's not dead, but we won't see any videos anytime soon.
So good to have you back on the channel Photon... it has certainly felt like a long time without you but it is truly understandable why you would need time away and I am so sorry to hear of your loss. We have had the sudden loss of my wife's father a couple weeks ago which was unexpected and is hard enough to process during the best of times so our thoughts and kindest regards are with you having to process through it straight after a divorce. I hope you have had good friends to be with you during tjis time. I have always and still do admire your intellect with electronics (reminds me of my Grandfather who was very talented and was a radar developer during the war then built their areas first tv from oscilloscope green screen and had the neighborhood children around it to glimpse the first tv programs. Im more computers and programming hut also love creating and testing concepts and I love playing with hydrogen production via electrolysis especially pushing the gas back into the 2 stroke gen to feed the power again :). So seeing your up and coming project has me rather excited to see your vision fulfilled. There are many things that are just not built to last in a capitalist society like ours today to ensure purchase of replacements or the next bigger / better version and I would love to send something over to you for plasmafication but I have lived in New Zealand for last 11y after leaving quiet Norfolk for a better life in the sun so if anything it maybe something small, although will definitely send you something over to the PO Box but it will probably be more of a gift from here rather than plasma food :) My condolences and kindest regards David
Awesome, You're back! Now that is one big boys power supply, can't wait to see something get annihilated on that! I don't know where the like button has gone since the last RU-vid update but I would like this video if I knew how. Sorry to hear about your loss btw.
I'm sorry for your rough year Photonic. I enjoy your humor and videos even if I cringe at your safety ethic sometimes ;) I hope you find enjoyment sharing your wacky ways with the world, I enjoy watching them. Chap like you be pullin fanny in no time mate.
Sorry about your loss, have enjoyed your videos for some time. I have no idea what that power supply actually does, but it looks like you built it right.
I dont comment much on anything, Andy, but I am very sorry for your loss, and the struggles you're going through in your private life. Keep your spirits up and focus on the good things, like amps, volts, those farad things and of course, jiggawatts! Love every vid you've ever done, and looking forward to many more. Cheers mate! (I think thats how it's meant, right?)
Welcome back mate! Nice job, I finally took the time to sit through your entire video. Sorry to hear about the bad things that happened throughout time, but from the videos I think I know you well enough to confidently say: You'll make it and even get better than you did before! Wish you all the best and greetings from NL!
What a fecking awesome bit of electrical gear, and wish I had a power lead like that ... you are a true guru amongst blokes and master of mega power! Women everywhere are missing out big time.
probably a lot of people offered there help about Vegas and stuff, if u need help in those fields i would be glad to help. but fair to say it is not that complicated just have to know certain things. So u can concentrate your energy on ur projects. An nice to see, hope it is a rise from here
The fact that you wired all that yourself means you must know what you're doing... you have more balls than most working with insane amounts of energy. Keep up the good fight mate
That's one hell of a piece of electrical engineering, I struggle with a 9v battery! I lost my mother a couple of months after you put this video up, all I can say is I miss her a lot more than the first wife.
I'm glad you're back mate. Also, hope you do good in your real life, because you've already awed us on RU-vid. I've never seen so many volts going through various gadgets before discovering this channel. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: you're the closest thing I've ever seen to an evil scientist :))))
Hey bud, cheers from Texas. Sorry to hear you are going through a rough patch. Lots of crap all at once; that's too bad. But then you don't seem to do anything on a small scale, so I guess its all in the course of things... I hope things return to normal for you soon, and please know that you make many people very happy with your vids. Some of them have me doubled over laughing so hard that I am crying and have cramps in face and sides (the large mass in the spinning washmachine is one that did it for me). Cheers mate; hope you bounce back quickly from all the shiz going on.
To be honest, I've always used Adobe Premier and After Effects as a combo and haven't had any issues with uploading to youtube. And the way they have a separate rendering program to do final exports I think really helps since formats you work with in the editor don't really matter since at the end you have something that puts it all in the right format
That power supply is pure genius !!! A truly remarkable design and brilliant construction. You are one hell of a guy, AWESOME vids, I will never tire of watching them. I WANT MORE ! lol
I can imagine you doorknocking on your neighbours houses and asking them to turn off their ovens, microwaves and electric heaters so you can use your power supply...
Geezah!!! #ffing love the video..the coordinated deep pile floor coverage and fireplace transformers...that hum as you cranked the variacs really got me in mind of that brute presence I felt whilst touring the bowels of a huge hydroelectric dam...
i wonder what it looks like in the big boys power supply variac from stuffing over 60A through it, since it can only handle 15A, its fun destroying things, with more power it can't take of course, that don't bloody work or do anything right, pretty soon i'll be posting vids.:D BEST UPDATE, thanks.:)
He needs to move to a commercial unit so he can get some high current. NO wait that would be dangerous for all human life. :) Thank you for sticking with us viewers.
I have one question. Well two. That hydrogen reactor, is that going to be used in that little attic? And I assume you put it together up there, because no way does it look like it will fit out any door, window, etc. Unless it's not fully assembled with welds or bolts.
Looking back at the motorway drive, you say that you'll need to take the house offline, because of the power that panel pulls. That's a 100A circuit, and you say you'll be using that and then some. *Edit:* The variac is rated at 209, so 415 is out of the question. However, assuming the panel is 240 (which seems likely, whereas 415 doesn't seem as likely for a residential hookup), and knowing the panel is 20 kW, you'd be drawing only 83 1/3 amps. Tell us what that beast really draws? On an unrelated note, I do hope you'll be building a ridiculously high voltage transformer for this. =)
Can we please hangout. I would love to have you come look at my solar back up power system. I haven't been able to talk to anyone else that can easily understand it. Your projects make mine look simple and that says alot
