This is pure history. What a wonderful record of what was splendid to watch. What a pair!

Boy, I'm sure gonna miss 'em--Hugh Downs and Barbara Walters. I'll never forget both of 'em together. 😭

Hugh Downs said, "Well, time right now for us to turn into "Nightline" where Chris Wallace is sitting in for Ted Koppel. Chris?"

"We're in touch, so you be in touch". I miss this era. Its class, integrity, sense of hope, sense of honor.

Chris Wallace said, "Hugh, we'll look at two stories tonight. First, the heroes welcome for soldiers in operation desert storm. Why is it so different than when troops came home from Vietnam? And the oil fires of Conway. How long will they burn and what will it cost? Hugh?"

RIP Hugh Downs we will miss you
