20 Abnormally Large Dogs That Actually Exist 

I've always wanted an Irish Wolfhound!!! They are and always will be my favorite breed of dog!! 🐕 My husband and I are saving up to move in about 3 years and trust me, I will be getting an Irish Wolfhound when I have the room to do so!!!

From tiny to gigantic, I love them all.

I have a beautiful, sweet, big Mastiff- lab, he's down to 105lbs but he's almost 12years old now. I'll be absolutely lost and heartbroken when he leaves this world. Thankfully I believe we will be reunited in the afterlife!🤗

This was a great video. I am currently on a waiting list to get a Great Dane as a service dog. I had a spine/cord injury about 13 years ago and while I do have some mobility with a walker/wheelchair, I tend to fall a lot when my leg(s) will give out on me. Having a large dog like a GD for a service dog will benefit me greatly as I will be able to have it brace so I can get up by myself, plus they're the right height for my height so that I can literally just have him/her (hoping for a him) right next to me. Sometimes I do get a bit of notice pre-fall and it would be very nice to be able to reach out for him to keep me steady. My daughter is a dog trainer and currently works on the side at a boarding/grooming/daycare facility here. As such, she is in contact with many different dog breeds and local rescues. When she learned a few weeks ago about a 1yo pup who was going to be shot by her owner because she "played a bit too energetically" with her chickens, with my ok she drove out to get this pup. We have 2 dogs of our own (80lb and 55lb) and so what is one more for a few weeks, right!? Little did she know that the pup she was going out to save is a Leonberger Mastiff! This pup was grossly underweight when she brought her home at 89lbs. She should be about 120lb fully grown. It is a lot of dog to have in our house with two other decent sized dogs (and a cat) here already. She has knocked me over a few times, but that is partly because I'm easy to knock down, haha, and because she is so affectionate an wants to be loved on often. I will say that his pup is a sweet, loving dog. She clearly didn't get a lot of affection at her previous home because the characteristic we are working on is jealousy when a dog (or cat) other than her is being loved on. She can also be a bit of a resource guarder around her food, but with three big dogs, we always fed our other two in separate spaces anyways. She's not vicious, rather she will turn her body so that she is between the other dog and her bowl. Oh well, I've blathered on and on enough here.

The Akita is my favorite. I've raised 8 of them and I mostly rescued the majority of them.

You forgot the giant Alaskan malamute! Those guys are massive and gorgeous!

I've had many Great Danes and Irish Wolfhounds. Loved each and everyone of them. Family. Mine have lived well over 11 years. ❤

OKAY, SO THE LEONBURGER IS A HUGE POOCH, AND IS OF MIXED HERITAGE. BUT, I AM NOW AWARE THAT SOME BREEDS OF DOGS SHOULD NOT BE SO EASILY GOTTEN AS PETS if THEY MIGHT BE A BIT AGGRESSIVE. BUT, THERE ARE ALSO SOME DOGS LIKE THE BOERBOEL PUPS I AM SURE THAT I HAVE MISSPELLED THE NAME OF THE BREED OF THIS POOCHY. BUT, ONE OF THESE DOGS AS A PUP WOULD REALLY BE A great REWARD FOR ANYBODY That has NO IDEA how to ever end up being able to own a really HUGE fancy poochy like some of these breeds of dogs.

I had a Newfoundland / Black Lab mix doggie, AND HE WAS huge, AND A BIG SWEETHEART. BUT HE ONLY LIVED TO 8 YEARS OLD, HE HAD DIABETES, AND EVENTUALLY KIDNEY FAILURE HAD MADE ME HAVE TO EUTHANIZE HIM. WHEN YOU HAVE A DOG THAT IS 185 LBS, AND HE CAN NO LONGER WALK OR STAND, AND HE CAN;T GO OUTSIDE TO PEE AND POO. THE KIDNEY FAILURE HAD MADE HIM NOT ABLE TO GO AND WALK OUTSIDE TO RELEIVE HIMSELF. I REALLY loved HIM. i MISS HIM TOO. i REALLY MISS ALL,OF THE DOGS THAT WE USED TO HAVE, AND THEY HAVE PASSED AWAY. THE LOVE OF A DOG IS A PURE LOVE, THEY DON'T LIE. I KNOW THAT IT ALL SOUNDS REALLY STUPID OR FLAKEY, BUT, IT IS REALLY TRUE.

I have never had any of these wonderfully enormous canines myself but I had a friend who raised and sold Rotweillers quite a number of years ago! When I am out and about in my neighborhood and see neighbors walking their dogs I almost always ask if they will let me pet them. When they say yes I tell them "I am not able to have a pet now so I like to adopt one for a minute." They always smile when I say that! Without question, my favorite dogs are the ones that you (and most of us) call "Gentle Giants!" The Great Dane, Akita, and the Shepherd breeds are the ones that I love most. I have seen a few of these around and it is always wonderful when I can give them some love and they respond in kind. Thank you so much for sharing this video. I really love most of your videos! I have 3 Irish Wolfhound/Great Dane mixes, one of them is 7 ft+ and 190 to 200 lbs on his hind legs at less than a year old.

For those who don't know, the Irish wolfhound is the tallest dog breed in the world, and great Danes come 2nd, Irish wolfhounds were meant to hunt down deers, elks, etc and as said in the video, great Danes are meant to hunt down boars.

I've had 20, 17, & 10. The 2 dogs I currently have are 80 lbs, & 130 lbs. 1 German Shepard & 1 American bull dog mix. I've also had Doberman in the past. The one I would love to have is 7, the blackie, as I do live on 20 mountain acres, and have black bear and mountain lions in the area. However, I don't keep more than 2 dogs at a time.

I have a friend who has an English Mastiff. His name is Rhino, fitting isn't it. He is absolutely huge but a real gentle giant. My friend has 5 boys and has a good time playing rough and tumble the boys. He is the perfect dog for that family. I loved Rhino. Very affectionate, if he knew you. But he could be very protective too. Great dog, but you need a really big yard.

Interesting presentation, once you become immune to the narrator's hammy delivery. The really amusing moments come with the massacred pronunciation of some of the names: the murder of "Dogue de Bordeaux" was the high point, followed by the assassination of "Cane Corso". While you are spending so much time and making so much effort to assemble a collection worth presenting, research the right way to say the names! The low points are the views of dogs mutilated to suit the owners' delusions about what a dog should look like. People should only be allowed to own dogs with mutilated ears and tails if they, the owners, have been similarly mutilated.

the bigger the dog the bigger the damage to your house. and the bigger the damage the more expensive it will be to fix. plus they are way harder to take places. they are more expensive food wise, they take up to much space. they are cute as puppies but that is it. small dogs are way better. yes they still do damage but just like their size the damage is small and less costly. plus they take up a little amount of space, they dont eat much, so much easier to take places. plus they are cute as adults too cause they stay small and looking like puppies their entire lives. i have 2 big dogs i am forced to take care of and i hate them.
