Two years ago I watched this video. Three days later I bought a bass and have been playing ever since. Thank you for inspiring me to pick up the bass guitar.
Look, bass lines are the foundation of a good song. No bass line, not a memorable song. But guitars have legendary TONES. Because they use a lot of effects

@Sergio Balaguera Yes, every bassist. But go up to some rando on the street and ask them to hum the guitar in that song and they'll hum the bass every time.
M65 F I think his greatness is overlooked because of his laid back personality (compared to the other three guys in Queen). His musicianship is fantastic.

Bass guitar. Its a bass guitar unless you have an upright which doesn't make sense in this case because in this video its a bass guitar and someone was referring to it as a guitar
When somebody go to my home and see my bass Say - OHHH YOU HAVE A GUITAR?! CAN I PLAY IT???!!? PLSSSS, when i Say to this person - That not a guitar, This is bass- W-What is bass?
I'm a regular 6-string guitar player and always took bass for granted until I started adding my own bass parts into home recording mix tracks. I quickly learned that the bass has the ability to change the feel and mood of any rhythm and melody part simply by alternating the bass lines and notes that are being ridden on underneath the rest of the tracks. It's changed my outlook of the instrument and I'm begrudgingly starting to admit that it's the most important part in any mix, which is quite humbling being a dedicated 6-string player.
Do it! If you don't want to get a teacher, you can definitely to at home, learn how to read tabs and use RU-vid for lessons. It is soo fun to play an instrument and jam along your with your favorite bands and maybe your own someday.
I'm sooo happy that there are 2 Queen songs in this video because *Deacy is a fucking legend* and he's a cute little bean only Queen fans will understand me.
I came here just expecting to hear John Deacon's iconic bass lines, you saved the best for last I see! Also, this video made me remember I love Interpol's Evil bass line is awesome too!
for anyone who likes bands with a dominant bass, check out "The stone roses" amazing band. two of my personal favourites are 'I wanna be adored' and ' i am the Resurrection'
Props for including the classic Peter Gunn theme popularly heard in the Blues Brothers! 😎 Was surprised to hear I Feel Good and Livin on a Prayer here-never fully appreciated how much of a role the bass plays in those classics. Honorable mention here has to be given to The Real Me by The Who!! That whole song is just an ongoing bass solo!
Steve Nejezchleba Swamp Song is genius, but as a bassist the kne that to this day is the most impressive to me is the 10,000 Days licks that are so fast that Justin has to finger pick instead of using his trademark pick style. As far as iconic goes, it's definitely between Schism and Sober though just cause those are their most radio-played songs
My youth, right here. Hanging out in Old Bridge. Pool parties with James & Cliff. All nighth drink fests. Walking around NYC and showing the boys the "sights". Getting lost in Brooklyn. R.I.P. Cliff. They've never been able to replace you....
I’ve been playing the base for about 4 days now and I know how to do house of the rising sun and I love it! I played the guitar for about a week before that for music class and my music teacher told me I’d do better on the base and he was right.
I watched this video a few years ago, and I had never listened to Tool (except for those songs on guitar hero 4). Now it's one of my favorite bands, and this was the video that made me want to listen to the band. Thank you for that!
This guy: plays every well known song to a bass player. My friends: Hey, play something for us!!!! Me: plays twinkle twinkle little star. I have played for four years and that’s the first thing that comes to my head Lol.
I’m a drummer of 10 years and I really tried to get into guitar back in the lockdown but it just never stuck. I think the bass is more appealing to me bc bass and drums for the most part are so heavily rooted together within a songs structure. Also if I ever come up w a melody in my head, it always sounds more like a bass line rather than a guitar part.
It's making me a little uncomfortable with how fast and out of hand the Queen fandom is getting.. But it's nice to know that Queen is still appreciated! Out of my 18 years of being a Queenie, I've never seen the fandom this active haha
Well, it was bound to happen, with the movie being such a big hit. But luckily obsessions go away quickly, and hopefully in the end we’ll be left with a fresh batch of new fans of Queen, which is always a good thing!
i came to this vid bc i really love the way bass guitar sounds on my new headphones, and now I actually have a bass guitar and am learning to play. quite the evolution.
I do realize now, how strong and effective of a support the bass guitar can be, some may say that a bassist is a failed guitarist, but in actuality the bass, is a completely different instrument, and without it, the song would feel hollow and empty!
