I loved reading Murder Road last month since Simone St James is auto buy author and loved all of her books so far. Also Waxing On: The karate kid and me by Ralph Macchio which I really enjoyed because I’m a huge fan of the actor and love this movie series.
I LOVE Bone Smith. Gave it 5 stars, and have to agree, it's more New Adult. I gave Crimson Moth 4.5 stars. Again, new adult, but I'm not complaining since I did receive the Fairyloot edition. Can not wait for the sequels of both to come out!! I did like Murder Road. Gave it 4 stars. There was a part with the hand and truck that left me very unsettled. If ya know, you know. Simone st. James is a 4 star author for me. The only book by her that received 5 stars was Broken Girls. Also, to me ratings are personal. When I finish a book, I just know what to rate it. Like a gut reaction.
WOW an amazing reading month. Now added a bunch of books following your review to my ever growing TBR 😂 Reading a curious beginning finally following your video!
I also give a lot of 4s and 5s and sometimes I think I’m being too generous, but I also think I might just be an easy to please reader and frankly I don’t think that’s a bad thing. But also I think I (and it would seem you as well) know my reading taste and don’t pick up thinkings I know I probably won’t like. DNFing is also a really healthy thing so I won’t be fussed with those comments! You do you boo. They are probably just jealous they don’t love what they read as much as you do 😘
I'm in my early 40's and still enjoy many YA fantasy books. I definitely agree there's a good number of books being promoted as YA that shouldn't be. Crimson Moth, being one of them. Loved that book, rated it a 5 star, BUT it was definitely not YA imo. What YA book has a character insisting on the guy sleeping with the girl so he can check her who-ha for a witches mark? Not to mention the violence. I'm not complaining, tbh I often prefer a good "YA" fantasy romance over an NA, my issue with new adult is they focus so much on their raging hormones that it very quickly becomes cringy, were as a young adult fantasy romance is often a lot deeper and romantic, imo... Maybe because the author has to focus on other aspects to make the reader feel the chemistry/connection.
