When I was in the US Army Infantry, we had a thing were we would walk maybe 60 to 70 miles a day. Thats roughly 15 minutes to walk a mile so every hour we went about 4 miles and we'd walk all day and sometimes through the whole night. Every 12 hours we'd have walked around 48 miles. I finished my service about 4 months ago and they let me keep my Large Ruck on the way out. I used to be a M240 gunner and I'd carry 5000 rounds on my person. That and all the other shit in my bag I was weighing around 450lbs without carrying my weapon. I'm pretty sure I got the whole "Getting used to weight" thing down. I'd started turning my old ruck into a Bugout bag. What you guys should do I get some Veterans to do a show with you, they'd have alot of REALLY good info for you on alot of this kind of stuff.
It’s made entirely from Dynema, so 11x stronger than steel and water proof…weighs nearly nothing. I’ve put almost 300 miles with it so far and it’s easily the best pack I’ve ever had. My entire food strategy for bugging in revolves around Campbells chunky soup with the flip top (no opener needed), and white rice in Mylar bags. I rotate the soup keeping it at about 150 cans, eating it for lunch once in a while. Of course we would also have whatever’s in the pantry, which is usually pretty stocked. Thoughts? Pros & Cons?
