There were a lot of these that I had no idea about, very fun video! I don't do advent boxes, but I love seeing others do them and their opinions. I am one of those people that I don't like surprises for that amount of money because I'm afraid I won't like it 😂 I've never even bought a mystery box of yarn before. I think I'm probably the odd one out in that. Every year I plan on crocheting an advent and haven't yet, you've definitely given lots of great ideas. I really like the gnome ones, those are adorable. It's so fun to know you like gnomes too. I agree on buying numbers, I definitely do not have the patience to do all that either! 🤗🥰
I definitely think we would have fun crocheting gnomes and fun little toys together. We have very similar tastes plus we like yarn….bonus!! 😍 And I totally understand not wanting to spend the money, not knowing if you would like it each day. Completely valid! But this way, you can live vicariously through me. I’ll take the hit for us both. I honestly, just like the surprise…whether I like the item or not, the surprise alone makes me happy. As a mom, running our show alone, I get very few surprises that bring me joy. Here’s my joy. Lol. Wishing you a great week friend! 💗
lol you are so right about the Crochet society fbook! 😆 I I didn’t order it this year, because I still have the last two years boxes sitting full. I never even looked in them. Lol I got so busy helping my mother the first year, and then last year with her passing on New Year’s Eve, I just wasn’t able to have the bandwidth to deal with anything. I also picked up one last year from Hobby lobby called 12 days of stitchmas, I wonder if they’re going to have it again this year. Looking forward to all the shenanigans! ☺️💕🧶
Oh, Jo! I’m so sorry about your mom. I don’t blame you for not having the time or energy for that. Sometimes, the emotional life stuff, makes it so hard to enjoy the parts that make us happy. Those grief waves are a hard ride, but I hope you’re feeling and doing better and finding happiness in things you love. And….ugh fb….I really narrowed my world so I don’t see as much bad stuff. They are so cute! If I could, I’d have mittens and stocking garland everywhere in my house. My daughter has already taken some and put them on my dogs. They aren’t appreciative. 🤣And gnomes are just the best and they work up so fast!! I’m glad it’s not just me that likes cute little gnomes! It’s amazing how things without faces can be so adorable! 😍💗
Oh honey….it was bad. But this year, let’s hope, I can avoid that as much as possible. I highly recommend trying an advent. Whether you crochet one or buy one….it’s just a nice little something just for you. We all need a little tlc, especially during the holidays. 😁🎄Let me know if you do one! 😉
So fun! I have a few of those. Well sadly my CS 2023 was damaged so not starting out great but my family checked the items and thankfully nothing is broken that they can tell. So that's plus. The Woobles one I am really excited for. I just got my first kit and I am filming the review for it now. I do that too! Just collect the patterns and play with the little extras they give us. LOL!
I’m so sorry you CS was damaged. My putter box had seen things, but thankfully the main box was ok. Glad all your little bits are there. I’m assuming you’re doing the amigurumi stuff too. Oh fb…I’ve had to really narrow my feed. It gets rough in some of those groups. I never comment and have learned to not read many of them. I hate people being mean to each other. I’m glad we will be doing the advent together. It’ll be fun to compare notes together! ❤

Thanks Cindy for the intro to the world of advent calendars, which I was vaguely aware of but have never explored it before! Not sure if I want to enter or not! I am with you on the whole number thing-especially given that there are 24 in total. I might survive the first couple but then I would just get frustrated! I do like the idea of free advent so thanks for the intro to them. I must admit Christmas for me involves a lot of extra time doing kid's craft activities out in the community so making something for each day of advent gets a bit too stressful for me to contemplate!
I totally understand. The holidays are already so stressful and adding in one more thing to “complete” is hard. I’m a person that can’t start a new project until I finish the one I’m working on, or else I feel horrible guilt. So, sometimes these things bite me in the butt. I’m hoping that starting some of them early because of how I will have to film things, will help. Only time will tell. Another possible idea is to find those big wooden dice and just make a Christmas character to put next to them to countdown….even less work. Wishing you the best of luck in whatever you do….and remember it’s all ok if you just can’t add one more thing. 💗💗💗

There's no place like gnomes! Or being smitten with mittens! I love amigurumi but am picky on what I make, not all amis are created equal, so am a bit anxious on those. (Maybe should make my own advent -- )
I am so behind on getting my holiday gifts made, lol, ponchos for the granddaughters, sweater set and cocoon set for new grandbaby due in January and the list goes on 😂 I would never get the advent calendar made, lol. I had some family drama this weekend that made me wish I had a pack of cigarettes to go out and hide in the milkhouse with and snuggle with the barn cats and goats. Then I was like, no, then my mouth will taste gross and my hair will stink, I probably wouldn't like it after all 😂
This year, I’m not sure I will be able to get anything made for my people either. Life…it truly gets in the way.🤦🏻♀️ Congratulations on that new grand baby! So exciting. 💗 I think hiding in the barn with cats and goats is a much better option than the cigarettes. Best to smell like a goat than a pack of cigs. 😂🤣 Though they are reminiscent for me of my years in college🤦🏻♀️ but the thought of that smell now just makes me nauseous 🤢. I hope the drama gets better, we have it in our family too….ugh🤦🏻♀️💗

I get them from lovecrafts.com. I sometimes use stylecraft special dk, but I’ve found the thinner yarns I struggle with. Another great one is berroco vintage….but it’s pricy. I save it for very special pieces. But it works up beautifully. Hope this helps! 💗

Advent boxes are extremely expensive for me, so it's a no for me. I doubt that a box costing $150 dollars gives you 12 full yarn skeins (or even 6). That would be a true steal. I'm guessing they're minis. I have to add a ridiculous amount of money on shipping, and because of the price (anything above $75 in my country), zaps you for a huge customs charge. So again, not for me, even if I do have the budget. And above all it's a mystery, so you don't really know what you're getting. Again, not for me. I would rather buy yarn I know that I want it. Nonetheless, great review abd I truly enjoy watching others opening up theirs. Thanks!❤
