Did these people even watch the show? I mean, how is Wilden “pretty much the good guy” in the show? He stalked the girls and constantly abused his power as a detective, he covered up Hanna’s shoplifting in exchange for a sexual relationship with her mom, he threatened the girls multiple times. WTF? How is that “pretty much the good guy?” And this is just what I remember. I’m sure there’s more.
Jared Scoggin he tried to kill Aria on the train, and the shoplifting sexual relationship thing turned into an actual relationship between him and Ms.Marin in the books
And he looked through Emily’s purse and read the letter she wrote to Alison. As well as questioned them without one of their parents present. When Veronica Hastings walked in and talked to Wilder about that, was iconic. 😂
Probably it's minor, but in the books, the school the main characters go to is actually a private school. Emily is also the youngest child of her family, with two older sisters and an older brother, and with old parents.
I remember reading that Darren was a lot more kinder to the girls in the books and helped them out. He was just a shady jerk on the show and did everything he could to get the girls in trouble
Rhea Bon Same, I don't like how they kinda played favorites, I feel like they gave Trorian the arc because they l like her better than Sasha, but that arc was shitty, the build up was shitty, the ending was shitty, I waisted my damn time on this shit
I agree, seriously thought that's what was gonna happen as I watch the show because clearly she was the main character, I'm so glad I didn't read the books before watching the show because I would've been so disappointed. I thought it was a good show but if they would've stuck to the books it would be longer and alot better imo
SPOILER AHEAD ok if your confused on the Alison and Courtney story here it is. Alison and Courtney were twins and they did everything together Alison was a little bit prettier but everyone loved Courtney personality. Alison gets jealous of Courtney because of her popularity and threatens Courtney to pretend to be her. The twins parents thought Courtney was insane and Courtney said Ali was making her do it but Ali denied. Courtney is sent to Radely and Ali got a perfect life. One day Courtney had to switch mental hospitals during stayed home with Ali. At this time a school time capsule is going on and the four girls decide to try to steal Ali flag. When Courtney realized they were out there she took the chance to pretend she was Alison and go outside while the real Ali was inside and her mom took Ali to the Mental hospital because she thought she was Courtney. Now Ali seen with the girl is actually Courtney and she has to pretend she is Ali. Courtney is really a nice person but she has to be mean like her sister that’s why she is so mean to the girls. Fast forward to the night Ali goes missing. Ali believed as Courtney is back home and is stalking Courtney at her seventh grade sleepover. When Courtney is having a fight with spencer she realized this and walks away soon after Ali kills Courtney intending to be Ali again but fails. Now Ali is mad at the four girls for being in that yard for the time capsule giving a reason Courtney to go outside and not going to the mental hospital. This is why I loved Courtney and will always hate Ali for what she did. When I read the accompanying novel about Courtney I couldn’t finish the book because I didn’t want to read Courtney death scene. BTW if you read this I’m surprised
Shorter, more legible version with actual facts: Alison is a psychopath. Courtney is a sociopath. There is no 'good' twin. Alison gets Courtney locked up and Courtney switches places with her and gets her put away instead, but now has to pretend to be Alison.. She dumps Ali's friends and takes the liars on because they're losers who Alison would never have picked to be her friends which would piss off Alison, and also helps her because they don't know the actual Alison and wouldn't be able to tell that she isn't her. Alison sets this plan in motion to get her place back by killing her sister but it backfires in that her mom now thinks that not only is she Courtney but she's also murdered Alison. Alison goes back to Radley and blames the liars for being put away because if they hadn't been around when it was time for Courtney to go back to the asylum and they hadn't spoken to her, then her mother wouldn't have thought she was Alison and she wouldn't have been sent away. So that's why Alison becomes A.
mooglemania I would suggest reading the accompanying book Ali’s Pretty Little Lies and it will tell you what actually went down. And the backstory of the twins. Also Alison doesn’t go back to Radley because it closed she goes back to another mental hospital
Ali is my favourite character- she’s the perfect sociopath who’s clever, cunning and ‘Survival of the fittest’ genius! Courtney was actually very sweet and sensitive but she always felt pressured to be a bitch otherwise people would catch on that she wasn’t Ali. When Ali kills courtney at the end of the prequel novel it’s so sad because Alison almost doesn’t go through with it- it’s only when Nick turns up she gets the courage to push her into the hole.
I had no interest in reading the books so I went into this video like “eh, I already know Ali has a twin, what more could I be missing” well it turns out I’m missing EVERY-DAMN-THING!!! I’m going to go pick up my copies today lol
Which twin theory.. I prefer the Alison twin thing because without Alison being A she gets away with everything, despite not really having changed and it makes me mad. She has to literally be A for the liars to actually hold her accountable for her actions.
They also forgot the books start with them in middle school when Ali disappears, so when Aria and the others meet up after she went to Iceland, it has more of an impact on them. Also Spencer hardly ever keeps a boyfriend for more than a few books. And that Aria’s and Spencer’s parents end up divorcing. And Emily sent away in one book and pretending to be Amish (or Mennonite) to look up I think Garrett‘s past. Also Noel Khan’s father dress up like a women (I’m pretty sure it never tells if it’s anything more than cross dressing, but I could be wrong). Oh and Maya never dies in the books, unlike the show. Or Spencer’s almost relationship with her step brother or her bratty step-sister. Or the deal that happens with Emily giving away her baby. And who can forget Spencer’s pot-brownies incident. Or the boat crash. And Lucas and Hannah dating. Or the transfer student Noel’s parents house get Aria broken up with Noel, only to then get together with Ezra after he and Aria meet up and she considers dating her, which also lead to the Transfer student (who is said to be from a European country) being soon outed as an American girl pretending her accent. And my favorite thing, Wren (who is Wren Kim, British guy of English and Korean Ancestry, not just British) and Spencer having sex during children shows playing in the background. Let’s just say, even if the books can sound silly, they are a fun read.
Not sure if you're joking so giving the serious answer: Ezria is a ship name. A ship is a pairing and the name is usually a portmanteau of the two parties being paired together. In this case, Ezra + Aria = Ezria.
i love pll so much!!! i finished watching all 7 seasons and then i went back and watched seasons 6&7 again to answer some of my questions and now i'm watching the show over again and i'm on season 4.
• Hanna cares more about popularity in the books than she does in the show • Spencer had a much more difficult relationship with Melissa • Emily's mom is a racist making her (Emily) relationship with Maya too difficult • Hanna cares more about her friendship with Mona • Hanna also tries to ruin Kate's life in the books • Spencer doesn't feel guilty and isn't sorry for having a relationship with her sister's boyfriend • Not all the liars look like Victoria's Secret models • Meredith is way more nicer in the books, tbh That's all I remember lmao
wrong, noel khan did not break up with aria after discovering she was with ezra, that was sean, hanna's ex. also wrong , emily dates maya for a short while till her parents send her to lowa where she meets another girl , then her and maya become frenemies. infact in the book emily dated about 3 different girls
sasha pieterse (the actress who plays alison) actually said in an interview that the producers were going to go with the twin idea but instead brought alison back to rosewood.
*Spoiler* Alison didn’t make people think she was Courtney. Courtney switched places with Alison and she pretends to be Alison. Meanwhile Alison is trying to tell people who she really is but is denied.
You make Alison sound so innocent. You forgot to mention that Alison got her locked up because she was jealous that she was more popular and the only reason Courtney switched places was because Alison wouldn't vouch for her and help her get out of the Radley equivalent they had in the books. Alison was a complete psychopath whereas Courtney was just your run-of-the-mill sociopath.
I think they could have taken a little bit more from the books. But still kinda love the fact that they didn't. I could never imagine PLL without Caleb (Haleb), Spoby and Mona's perfect happy ending :D I also love Spencer as the one with the twin, but would like to see Alison with her twin :'D so complicated, I could never decide between the books story or the tv show!
I don't care for Caleb and Haleb and Spoby but I like Mona and love Paige and Paily. Hate Alison and think she's A regardless of what the liars tell themselves in order to sleep at night.
I wish these thing happened on the show 1. Mona dies 2.noel and aria. 3.Evil Alison 4. Blond spencer 5. Nick maxwell 6.hannah and Mike 7.dilaurentis twins 8 emilys pregnancy
Tandy Bennett Oh ok. It seems like that would be more complicated, because her relationship with Nate/Lyndon, could have meant something.....it seems less complicated with her only dating girls.
I really love this show! The fact that the book is totally different from the show I really like it because it's like I reading two completely different stories. Is anyone else who agree with me?
Has this person ever watched PLL. The pronunciation of the names aren’t great. Also Darren was ‘pretty much the good guy’ he abused his power as detective and stalked the girls.
Radley DID turn into a hotel :) SPOILERS And Alison wasn’t pretending to be Courtney . When Courtney was allowed to come home from radley , she switched places with Alison and was able to convince her parents she was Alison . And I love Haleb and spoby .And I wish it was included in the book 📚 , and that Mona did die . Because she’s honestly one of my favorite characters .
You for got the its was Spencer and Alison and her twin in the books where related as half sisters. Spencer's dad and Alison's mother had an afire. But the TV series it was Jason and Spencer where related instead.
they do realise that in the book what really happens is that before hanna gets hit by a car that she finds out that mona is A but that after she gets hit that she forgets. She then realises when shes in the car with mona that shes A and pushes her off a clift.
Omg all my fave moments r Spoby moments and the saddest moment for me is between when Spencer got shot, Ezra got shot, Maya died, or they all got arrested.
Ok this one is better this one video I watched was totally dissing the cast, like “they are not as flawless” or “Hannah was supposed to be skinner” It’s was bad... so tysm this video was amazing
I knew there was something off about this show.....this explains so much. Now I’m not talking about the romances I’m actually ok with that and I’m ok with Mona being alive but the whole plot with the twins.....HELLO?!?! WHY DIDNT THEY KEEP THAT!! Holy shit...THAT WOULD OF BEEN SO FREAKING BETTER!! 😑
The best bit of pretty little liars was when the last episode where the child addison was being mean to ali and then she goes missing . I also like the first episode where ali had been missing for a year and it is the funeral then after they get a message from A and also when they tell you that alison was getting messages from A before she went missing
I knew Charlotte had to be a courtney version but with out the twin part and I feel like Alex was like Courtney because Courtney is Alison’s twin and Alex is Spencer’s
i like Haleb in the show but i love that Hanna and Mike were together in the books and i would have liked if they were together on the show. Also Mike should have been on the show a lot more he was way more involved in the books and i just loved his character in the books he was so funny and when hanna made mistakes he always stood by her
The books were so good I never managed to really enjoy the show. I thought the characters were insipid and the whole series was soooooo long. Just read the books. It's way better!
honestly I like tv show but sometimes the way the girls would towards ally I thought was weird they acted like she was the bad guy sometimes which never really made sense to me but now I get it! Ali was originally A which makes way more sense! Even if they didn’t want Ali to be A WHY DIDNT THEY KEEP THE TWIN?! THAT WOULD OF BEEN WAY BETTER!....I would go read the books but....I’m way to attached to my ships....and seeing them not happen in the book would be way to weird 😅 especially the whole Toby thing like...I can’t
Thank goodness they put Caleb in the movie I mean seriously he's like the best bf in the world he would have gone to jail for Hanna I would want a bf like him. How could they kill off Jenna and Toby they made the movie much, much better and more interesting. I'm so glad they made the movie how they did.
Ok, so I read the books and watched the tv series. Both: Center around "A" who knows all the girls' secrets and sends them anonymous messages. The liars try to find out who A is but is very difficult. I would have preferred if they actually made the characters look like how they were described in the books.
I prefer Emily's character as Gay to be honest. Her having a baby in the books was a bit much for me even though it is a teenage reality these days. I just like the idea of her being completely repulsed by boys. Also pll with out Haleb is a travesty.
PLL without Paige is worse. The only reason I wouldn't get into the books is because even though eventually Emily comes to her senses, from what I heard she's all over Alison, even more than in the show. Ugh.
not sure how this hasn't been mentioned but also they weren't really friends in the book. its a few years since the disappearance and none of the girls hang out with one another especially the first few books its made a point that they are not close
I heard in the books that Courtney ,Jenna and Mona was a clique fun fact =) and that also Aria, Hannah , Emily and Spencer was A in many other books to keep their secrets .
