I got different answers but none were "totemism" Them I played native american as a Repubilc with frequent election ( the president just needs to leave the office and will become an ancestor..not until he is dead) so evry 3 years you could add an ancestor if you have the Diplo mana Jesus Christ !
If you go horde and then monarchy you also swap from the terrible native units to chad Chinese tech units. You could potentially get Western units if you go catholic temporarily, but that would probably cause you to loose all ancestors.
I have tried 1.31.6 and 1.32.1 but starting is nothing like it. I dont understand. All border nations have 7 thousand troops. Once you reach 8k to have the mission more troops than neightbours, all of them is now 10k. I guess I have to try each 1.31 patches
Actually it's pretty balanced in the few multiplayer games I've seen where people actually start as natives the native player normaly loes the coastline but bounces back after 1600s
@@burakparlaktuna4505 The Mayan religion doesn’t work like Totemist. The only way you can do a Mayan horde is if you border a horde when you click Reform Religion.
Cherokee actually believed that a leader which is good during times of peace is likely not good during times of war; and vice versa. Therefore, when you declare war, you get a war-time leader. When you declare peace, you get a peace-time leader. Therefore, you can just do a war cycle to farm for ancestral aspects.
They're a "war chief" so when you ain't at war... Also not sure if you saw but if you're cheeky you can basically have a 100+ dev megacity before the colonisers show up using the whole migrationi thing
Another little trick as well (Unless its been patched). If you go Horde as a tribe in a colonial area and then from horde become a monarchy, republic or Theocracy you can actually form Colonial Tags like USA, Texas etc. It works in Australia too.
if you choose the settle down reform on tier 3, you can transfer your tribal development into the province itself and there's no cap on how many irragation buildings you build. also if you complete all federation reforms you can get a new set of ideas, settle all provemces and still can build more irrigation buildings. I used these to get 636 dev with 90+ dev capitol and 2 20+ dev gold provences
Just pointing out that you can't reform to a horde if you have settled down. Also, reforming with the tier 4 appropriate reform when colonizers arrive allows you to get 2-3 institutions and maybe some tech at the cost of getting the form of government of the country you're reforming off of. Doing it with colonial nations makes you a republic, useful to cycle the ancestor aspects and getting the best ones. The cons is that they arrive waaay late...

Lol. You should be getting -20% for every leader with that trait. So theoretically once you've had 5 leaders with the ae trait you should be sitting at -100%, thus no ae whatsoever xD and that would only occupy half of your total slots
Or +400% improve relations. Or +20 shock pips. Or +100% discipline (Prussia say whoat?) :P Alas, according to wiki they can't be stacked, even if you get two leaders with the same trait (except I presume current leader and totem). And since it's RNGesus, the odds of getting 10 AE reduction traits are rather low anyway. But you could for instance get 10% AE reduction, 40% improve relations, 10% discipline, 10% morale,, +2 shock, +2 maneuver, -2% army tradition decay. And we'll toss in 10% idea cost, 10% tech cost and 20% production. Plus current leader trait. Seems to me the main downside is that you can't really convert much as totemists don't seem to get any bonuses in that regard? So if you're planning to take non-totemist land, it's gonna hurt.
@@sorsocksfake I guess the number of missionaries is indeed quite limited as a Totemist nation. But since you can become a Horde as a native... Horde+Humanist ideas -> never ever worry about religious unity again and get absolutely bonkers ideas on top xD
Yeah, I'm having the same problem. I even switched around looking for other tribes to play (Apache, Navajo, etc) but it's just alliance locked everywhere. Shame.
I like playing the natives, my biggest problem really is massive federation blocks forming that make early conquest painful, particularly as Navajo for example
In that case if you have no federation or a small federation try going for early allies, curry favours until they will join your wars. If you have a strong fed then make sure to go for the federation wars option asap.
Potawatomi is the best pick as they can have 10+ nations in federation in 1444, and with that and reform to call federation members to wars you can steamroll any enemy. In early i recommend declaring humilate wars (you get that cb on every neighbour and it has 0% cost for taking money), get few technologies, take native ideas and when you see settled tribes reforming (usually nations near Chickasaw do that first) you should wait abt 15 more years, unite federation and choose republic to have many opportunities for picking new ancestors. From policies to native ideas you can get additional 10% dev cost, and generic federation ideas also have 10% so its good possibility to play tall.
yeah im having trouble with that too, so far i've just been picking on the smallest blocks i can find while building favours with allies to call them into the bigger one. I also started my own federation with 5 members and just unlocked offensive federation wars (automatically calls all fed members into war no matter what) which is super useful
Late reply but hope this helps. I rushed to get mil tech advantage. Tech 5 I think allows you to get new infantry that have 2 pips for morale offense. Combined with higher morale from tech and %buffs to can stack wipe. Also try to never ally someone in a federation block you want to attack.
@@brandonlyon730 not really a problem you need to basically be at constant war, taking tribal land when you can and the rest of the time taking prestige, trade power and war reps. This builds your economy to where you can construct buildings and get advisors. Don't focus on gold in wars as your allies or federation take most of it usually. A strong federation becomes like a vassal swarm you can just click war and watch them go fight for you!
16:20 A good thing to note here is that federations also get a huge boost to their...whatever it's called, when next to a colonizer, and any tribe that is reformed counts as a colonizer. Also, am I the only one that doesn't get the war/peace leaders event?
No im not getting them either!! i dont know why. I looked up the event triggers and I do have all of them as far as i can tell, all you need is to be a native tribe with 20 army tradition and at war
Did they fix Totemism in the meantime though? Couple months ago I was playing as the Aztecs and switched to Totemist. None of the leader spirits (or whatever they're called) worked. Just got a question mark and no modifier :/
Yes but you need to enable all 8 federation refroms which can take a while. you also need to be settled for the 8th reform which i think means you wont be able to form horde (as once you form horde youll lose the federation, but if you go settled you lose the ability to form horde)

Im currently playing morocco from your andalusia guide and oh boy is it pain(i buyed eu4 4 years ago with no dlc and refused to play more than 7h until a month ago, now i have all of them praise the weekend discount) manage to get granada and algiers before 1448 along a 5/6/5 heir. The stupid start sultan died from disentery(lol) mid 1447 and I got a 5/6/4 regent. Just as april 1448 starts the castillians and portuguese decide they want my booty(no england:D) I get naval superiority and got tunisia and and my 3 vassals with me. My army started the war at 13k plus 5k of my vassals plus 16k of tunisia. I let 6k portuguese get to tangiers to kill them with a 20k stack. Battle goes good till a 25k castillian stack gets out of nowhere and smacks me in the face. 8k lost:(. I got 25 k to beat portugal and castille. I have naval supremacy so far and most of castille are busy sieging granada and i got 7k portuguese at tangiers. What should i do to turn this around? What are some tips to progress with my campain(consider im 2 steps from a complete noob) love your videos man:D
When you reform into horde then back into a monarchy or republic, your tech group becomes Chinese, which will allow you to form usa and other colonial nations as a totemist native
Choose seasonal travel for tier 3, amass as much tribal land as possible. When you're satisfied, change to settle down in wherever you want your capital. Then settle your tribal land provinces, and *build irrigation in every one*. Irrigation nets you +.02 tribal dev for every province you have it in. You can get your tribal dev ticking at more than 1 per month easy. By the time you've westernized you're basically guaranteed to be #1 GP
I can recommend trying Navajo, Sioux or Onondaga (last one starts settled). It's a bit annoying that you have to start a game with one of the tribes before you can work out their starting situation but these tribes have a good start and extra missions that are essential to look at closely. Quizquiz is also a great start and has a special achievement.
Name all the American tribes?....before and/or After the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd "Great" Migration. Reason for asking is there a literally hundreds of different American tribes and just keeping track of the history of the one's in my state (montana) is a full time job and nightmare in of itself.
Sadly the mod is stuck in 1.29 land. You have to roll back if you are in 1.31, and even that is not enough (mod dev says clean install is the best). The mod is very cool though. As Byzantium you escape the wrath of kebabini and flee to the new world

BRB trying this.... So I tried it any everyone around me is joining tribal confederations, so I can't realistically win any wars because it's always 1v4 or 1v5.
Here's what you do. Position your army next to the war target since u can crush them before their allies come near u. Go over forcelimit (I did for my whole run) and get allies or federations yourself!
