I love how with the first one, their goal was to "reduce our dependence on screens" or whatever. So their solution? Literally put screens directly on your eyeball
You.....why are you like this? With AR contact lenses you can do stuff online while still having full control of your surroundings, that is what the problem is. Not "uhhhh people today dumb look screen all time, back in my day no phone was good"
A HUGE NO to the computer contacts on my eyes! We went on a trip using our gps system Thursday with the weather the getting the coldest it's been in years ..and our gps went crazy! It had us driving out in the water...crossing roads and we weren't even ON A ROAD! It was totally bazaar! Thankfully we had an atlas in the car that we could refer to since the GPS was totally UNRELIABLE in the weather! SMH 😕 We did however get some good laughs at it! 😂😂Lucky we have a good sense of humor!
Good points! Glad you had an atlas for sure! With the contacts, I wonder if they could do damage to your eyes? Maybe not right away, but long term. I don't have any scientific reasoning to back this up, but just some sort of gut feeling, computerized device that close to your eyes.
@@porkysparodies I'm with you on that damage to the eyes. I can't see it being any good for the eyes - if staring at a computer screen all day causes damage to your eyes - wearing one certainly couldn't be good for them! It seems a little common sense would tell one that. 👍
I’ve been scouring the internet for nice tech innovations to invest in. The AI sensor related gadgets looks like they have a lot of potential. Definitely adding them to my watch list
Exactly. Though some of them turn out to be just concept techs and never really take off as major projects. What other interesting holdings do you have?
A handful of the top ones like apple, meta and the likes. Then there are some new innovations like Rivian in the EV space that I hold. My advisor added some others to my portfolio, over time more than 7 of them have each risen by over 230% in value. Not all of them are US companies though
How does your advisor combine both US and foreign stocks. I have been looking to do this because there are some really hot stuff coming up outside the states I would like to get into early on. Can you share the name?
Sure. You can look up Mary Elizabeth Huxley. I’ve been with her for years. Sometimes I look at my portfolio and I’m like, this is exactly what working with Warren Buffett will look like haha.... What she does is that she uses her platform to connect a lot of different markets. Then she hooks mine into them and it’s a go.... Simple process actually. I still get to make my own suggestions and picks too
With regard to graphine, I just read an article about using lattices of graphine to repair damaged nerve systems in spinal cords. The reason why this works has to do with the material's electrical conductivity.
Just as a hint, never say impossible in a Technology podcast, what people though was impossible when I was a kid is now old hat and been bypassed many times, I was born in the early 50's, the computers we had back then were really slow and our Mobile phones were so annoying if the string wasn't long enough, but they never needed charging :) and every kid could afford them. Telling people they could afford to fly around the world to visit any place they wanted for not much more than their weekly wage was a pipe dream, I would have had to save my $18 a week wage for two years to go to the next airport in our State or Nation, to fly was a Wealthy persons transport, normal people could only travel by air if some one paid for them. Now a few Hundred dollars and you can fly in comfort to Thailand or Philippines and a few dollars more any where else in the world :) My Wife and I go at least three or four times a year now on cruises or over seas flights for holidays. Dick Tracy had a Watch phone in the cartoons, now it's been real for a few years :), there is no such thing as impossible, just hasn't been discovered or invented as yet and with A.I that can beat Humans with out breaking a sweat or needing to use a tenth of it's computing power in Go or Chess and any other so called thinking mans games, it won't be long before any one can get an A.I that could rewrite every block chain in seconds, all it takes is network bandwidth and Computing power.
Considering how people don't drive worth a shot, then self-driving cars would be much better. Having a self-driving cars means that I would not have to use Lyft or Uber anymore, and people who don't drive won't have to depend on others.
What would a non-driver do when the computer crashes in the automatic car? Uber time... Also, I wonder if they could 3D print working hearts and kidneys? The rest of them are not for me, too much stuff floating around in space as it is. Some of those items could change the whole balance of power in a split second without control. There can't be any flavor in that cultured meat.
How could you leave human age reversal out of the list? Living to 150 years old or more will certainly change our world! The technology has already been tested in mice, is currently being tested in primates, and it's considered likely that it will be available for general human use within 10 to 15 years.
Curing all cancer would be better I believe or any other illness that is a death sentence. Living a long time would be great as long as one remains fit and healthy. I mean who wouldn't like to see the world a 100 years from now.
@@cathalodiubhain5739 Cancer and age reversal are actually closely related. Some mechanisms for reversing ageing have a high risk of causing cancer, so the two are likely to be solved more or less together. Also, many illnesses including dementia and several forms of cancer are age related. Reverse ageing and those illnesses go away.
@@cathalodiubhain5739 There's already been an announcement that there should/will be a cancer vaccine in 2030. The mRNA tech used for the Covid 19 vaccine stemmed from the research leading to the upcoming cancer vaccine.
Some of that life extention tech is already available though it's costly. It will be rapidly improving and becoming more impactful and beneficial. It's been stated by a pioneer in the field that as of over 15 years ago one in their 40s stood a very good chance of living to be 200 and that the first human being to live to the age of 1000 had already been born. It's coming. Faster than anyone might believe. And it's only going to get better and better. Some treatments that are highly effective and beneficial are already available though they're expensive. It's not merely a matter of extending the number of years you spend as a decrepit old person with terrible health and no mobility, etc either. The breakthroughs being made will allow for reversing the aging process so that you're living those long extra decades in a body like the one you had in your 30s or 20s. Nice, huh?
The wild fires kill more animals, plants and trees than they kill people, so the sound wave machines would really be so great. 3-D printing is better than cutting down lots of trees for building homes, and hydrogen fuel cells would be better, especially for cars.
Why not use wood for houses? We have fast growing trees and it is carbon capture. Trees get roughly 93% of their carbon from the CO2 they take in. We also have more trees in the US than we had over a 100 years ago.
I wonder if the sound waves would cause damage to the environment and the animals? I mean if it’s less destructive that fires, then it’s a win. But I heard that fires can be helpful to forests in some cases. What happens if an animal gets hit my a sound wave like that?
That's not true about we have more trees in the USA then in a hundred years. They amount of wildfires is an unbelievable amount buring every year from humans. It's Really 😔
@@dawnnoble8221 Its true because we plant millions of them a year, replacing what we use. 100 years ago, many of the states in the mid-west were almost like a desert, but since they were used for farming, those crops changed the whole landscape, adding trees for shelter belts for wind and wildlife.
have cows, but they should become obsolete, as very ineffient creatures. milk is mostly water, like over 90%. and only used a byproduct of whey. lots of changes coming.
As someone who corrects their vision with contact lenses anyway, I like the idea of being able to make them more useful. Those contacts screens sounds really cool, and am excited for it to become perfected, the only worries I have are to do with what happens when it fails. They have to be powered, so they have tiny batteries or capacitors in them for powering and if that fails it is sitting right next to a very sensitive organ. Same with any of the mini electronics and wiring, I don't exactly want it zapping my eyes.
I have read medical articles that they can possibly be powered by you blinking, but the main focus now is on people with disabilities because they can get Federal funding and they are looking at a 10-year window. But I like the idea of also being able to possibly focus long distances or microscopic with the lenses. I'm old enough to remember the "5 million dollar man" and now any person may have very advanced capabilities. I wear bifocal contacts and they do make a difference, but not huge.
I don't want my phone screen and closer than it is now. I need my privacy and already people feel entitled to too much of my time - can't imagine how entitled some would feel when I can't even put my phone down. Huge animals are not the future for feeding our growing population. It just doesn't make sense.
Lots of cool tech, but satellite advertising, that is offensive in every meaningful way. Instant boycott. Not too keen on the eye phone thing but the tech could be useful for some things like surgery or design.
Agreed. The less computer parts and/or "SMART" technologies there are in cars, the more the "common" man can actually NOT get screwed over by crooked mechanics by fixing his vehicle himself...While I find many of these ideas interesting, a few of them are udderly ridiculous (the floating cows 3 inches apart from one another is one). Humans have to learn to get back to nature. Give me that Nokia (or even a reasonably priced landline phone) back and a log cabin out in the county with a little land so I can grow my own crops. If everybody wants to live like Kings and Queens, then we have been overpopulated for at least a few decades already. The only "techy" thing I would fully support would be space travel/teraforming/colonization of other planets.
@@redblade8160 no I can turn my whole eyeball but I can't shift the focal point in the centre of my pupil to the left or right. Eyes don't work like you seem to think
Very dangerous more so when you’re on the road driving and you get something that pops up you could run over somewhere pedestrians a child a dog a cat anything not cool!
The suborbital accelerator is a modern trebuchet. It won’t take the defense department long to use that tech to launch tungsten cores or some sort of guided weapons system the same way rail guns were trying to be used.
The problem with hydrogen fuel cells is that to make the hydrogen you need to pull water apart and that takes more electricity than a hydrogen fuel cell would produce so...
Exactly, you have to use dirty energy to produce the hydrogen, and the the process is only 70% efficient. always find it interesting how the real issue is not mentioned, not green at all!
This is typically how batteries work... Hydrogen fuel cells are not a generator, but a battery... The question is, is it clean or dirty to make the battery, and where do we get power from? If each home were fitted with a rainwater generator and a wind turbine, electricity would be much cleaner to produce, but we would NEED some way to store it, hydrogen fuel cells might fit the energy density requirement for that...
I wish someone would make Smart Contacts that could compensate for any vision deficits. Such as near sight or farsighted astigmatism etc. I know it can be done.
The challenge with cultured meat is it doesn’t feel the same as real meat butchered from an animal. This is completely fixable. Imitating real meat cuts can go further using the same protein scaffolding being experimented with for growing organ transplants. The protein scaffolding tells the cells what type of cell to become so it is possible to grow a steak that has tendons and fat and gristle etc just like a steak butchered from an animal. This technique will also make more processed meats forms like sausages, meat balls, and mince feel more like the real thing. We could even 3d print the protein scaffolding, making mass production easier. For those times you really want to feel like a carnivore.
No to computer contacts. I don't like anything IN my eye. I might be ok with glasses though. How about glasses that automatically correct your vision?! I would be way more interested in that type of technology.
But the contacts would notify you ahead of time so you can block...or duck. You'd gain Spidy-senses. Lol. But seriously, I'd love contacts that can flash-supress as I have light allergies and walking outdoors into the sunlight causes pain and relentless sneezing.
Augmented/Virtual reality would be best for fixing a cars etc, on your own ~ The good stuff after that starts to drop off!~ To the point I would rather sit by a Real WaterFall~ Take my own videos!~ Stay there as long as I want! Having full freedom To think for myself!~ In a place that you can learn how to do that at!~
Revelation 13:15 “And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” Beware Transhumanism
3D printing is also used in medical parts. I work at one of the largest medical machining companies and we have a handful of 3D printers. They are in a door sealing fire proof room. I believe you need to have full PPE when handling them with the material.
I read somewhere that the average car accident for self driving car was around 9 per million whereas it's about 4.5 for "regular cars".....Don't know if it's true...I'm pretty confident self driving car will eventually become safer than human controlled ones.
Yes, Roman concrete used lime clasts that have 'self-healing' capabilities. Scientists have just in the past decade realized this characteristic of the lime clasts. Roman concrete also uses pumice from volcanos that strengthen it.
@@jtrosse9092 I heard that the salt water used also helped. As I heard it the recipe just said water so people elsewhere used fresh water with worse results. But that region used salt water. I like that we're still learning stuff from the past.
I Will wait on the Brain Chip implant so all I will need to do is think about it ? Soon after the implant I will become Borg where Resistance will be Futile LOL
The spin launch is very cutting-edge tech that will change the aerospace industry in a very big way if they can sustain the machine. It can launch up to 20 or 30 times in a day. That's a game changer for a spin launcher version 1 compared to how many launches Space X can do. The major things to overcome are load compacity and times between launches, so Space X can certainly launch at a much greater payload. Keep in mind. In order to build stations and sustain life off world. You'll need a highly reusable launching system that's very inexpensive. Space X seems to be doing well, but we need prices to drop in a very big way.
NO way! I can't even stand putting eye drops in my eyes - let alone some piece of technology that will only aggravate my eyes, which are super sensitive.
Graphene is a wonder substance just like asbestos was in the past. And in the future, it will be the next asbestos, IMO. Using graphene to filter injectables may have some down sides ;-)
Man i've been watching videos like these since the early 2000s. Trust me, it's just more toys for very rich people, with no plans for what happens to the rest of us.
I wonder how self driving vehicles will work on icy roads or wet roads. What happens when the sensors are covered by dirt or grime? What happens when another car bumps into the self driving vehicle and the sensors become misaligned or damaged? What happens when you drive through a deep puddle where your battery storage area becomes wet? This vehicle sounds good until real world scenarios are considered.
Electric self driving car already broke the law. Pedestrians were already crossing and the self driving car just made the turn. In the real world you would wait till pedestrians finish crossing the intersection. No wonder why this things crashes in to moving semi's or sudden lane changes. good luck with that.
No!!!!!! To the Info over my eye. I love meditation, and calmness as much as I adore computers. I don't want to become a Cyborg. I've used contacts, I'm okay with them. "Big Brother" above my eyes, NO! I don't SMASH buttons, I click them or tap them. What is it with you Millennials?? The Twitter/RU-vid trolls?? HAHA! #17 is pretty interesting. Hey 👋 I had a severe TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY from a Head On Car Crash Aug 29th 1987 and I lost my right field of vision from both eyes and it will never come back so they say. No.20 screen in contact lenses, I would say ‘no’ to. Not because I dislike the idea. Rather, when I turn 40, I couldn’t wear contacts anymore, they really aggravated, my eyes. No.12 nope, I would rather see, natural stars in the night sky, not company advertisements. Everything else, Wow! 😊
"connected homes"....um...no thanks!!! I'm also not keen about furniture telling me stuff i don't want to hear "Your reclining posture is 51% inefficient. Increase angle of recline to 46 degrees, to optimize.... seriously!! i also don't relish the idea of everything in my house going haywire if someone decides to practice their hacking skills on my "connected" furniture, doors, windows, microwaves ovens....or even holding my house hostage if i don't fork over a ransom.
