The fact that Fitz has been looking for Sophie since he was six makes me laugh for some reason. Wouldn’t humans wonder where his parents are? And why he’s walking alone at six years old? And why he’s not in school? And why he doesn’t speak human languages well? Also, I think Keefe’s middle name is either something outrageous or his dad’s name.

The first time I read the series I got the books from the library and somebody underlined “You kids” when Magnate Leto was talking at some point. I was freaking out like “OMG IT’S MR. FOKLE!!” Rereading the series he says it a lot haha! That was the only time I have ever been thankful for book vandalism and I do not regret leaving it in rather than erasing it! Great video, I learned a lot!

Ok so my friend introduced me to Kotlc after she had read all of them so I would always tell her my theories and thoughts as I was reading. One of them was that Marella would be a pyrokinetic bc of her explaining to Sophie and ofc at that time I didn't think I was right but then I was right.

I did make that Forkle-Leto connection, but not at the first meeting. It was a bit later, probably the second time he said it. And Marella's surprised me and I had honestly forgotten about it. I reread the series for the 4th time and I am blown away by how much FORESHADOWING that Shannon included in the books that I missed. I think there are many subtle hints that Sofitz was meant to be a flop which many people will disagree with me but one Sokeefe foreshadowing that I think is barely talked about is in Unlocked pg 627. Sophie is talking to Lord Cassius about his mistreatment of Keefe and after her long spiel about how Keefe would have been just as special and as important even if his mom didn’t experiment on him all Lord Cassius responds with is “Interesting.” Which Fitz then questions him “What is interesting?” to which Lord Cassius replies “Should I tell him what you’re feeling right now?” Directed at Sophie. Now I think Shannon did not have to include this dialogue at all. We all know Sophie is feeling angry at Keefe’s father in this scene but I think it was Lord Cassius trying to jab at Sophie’s underlying feelings for Keefe infront of Fitz who I think picked up on it to. Not emotionally I’m just sure Fitz could tell how passionate her defense for Keefe was. I believe Lord Cassius is smug about this because it proves his theory that is written in his book about how feelings from the head are different than the heart. Meaning Sophie liked Fitz with her head (like a elementary school crush on a cute boy) but likes Keefe with her heart (since emotionally they have opened up so much to one another). She just doesn’t realize it.

That scene really confirmed Sokeefe was endgame for me! There is so many hints to Sophie and Keefe loving each other, and Sophie's feelings for Fitz are from her head not her heart. Why would Shannon show Sophie and Fitz having so much relationship problems, and the unmatchable thing, if they were going to be endgame? Why have Sophie continuously go to Keefe over Fitz? Why have Keefe tell Sophie that "Nobody will care about you being unmatchable. Nobody who matters, at least." And then proceed to show Fitz having a problem with her being unmatchable? It's subtle details like that, where Shannon shows the connection between Sophie and Keefe that make it obvious he is the one she loves. Sophie even feels "caught" being with Keefe the 2 times Fitz walks in on them. If there was no emotional connection, why would she feel caught? Keefe hints at knowing her heart emotions in the POV of his recovery on Shannon's website. He says it's the most hurtful part of it all. Which I can't blame him for. Keefe can feel Sophie's love for him, but she doesn't want to accept it and denies it to herself. Telling herself "we're just friends." And I think that's what hurts Keefe. She can't bring herself to admit she loves him, and proceeds to date another man. That's a pretty big ego blow, yk?

i would reccomend the Fablehaven / Dragonwatch series (if you haven't read it already) and The Selection and Let the Sky Fall (also by Shannon Messenger!) are also great ones but they're defintely focused on the romance aspect. Happy Reading:)

I have read all the kotlc books and now I am reading them again. I didn’t notice Mr.Forkle as Magnate Leto say “you kids” the first time I read the books. But I did the second time I am only starting the fifth book so I still have a little while till I finish reading them all a 2nd time but I think he says “you kids” once in the second book and twice in the third book.

I think sokeefe is better because well Fitz has hurt Sophie and had even blamed her for things that really wasn’t her fault. Keefe always helps Sophie though, except the times that Keefe does smt that added to his ‘list of regrets’! I also think that Keefe ‘s history is really sad and I think he deserves as much love anyone can give him. And also, Keefe has a crush on Sophie 💞 Yayyyyy Stan Sokeefe or Keephie!

Yeah but it’s not like Sophie treated Fitz great either. She lied to him a lot. And she spent more time with his best friend than him and she got mad when he lied to her. Keefe has run away a lot and has hurt everyone. And if you think about it, Keefe doesn’t really care about anyone’s feelings except Sophie’s. Fitz still loves Sophie, and so does Keefe. They both have their flaws but if Gutz and Sophie could work things out, I’m sure they would be the better couple.

And you brought up Keefe’s back story. To be honest, it’s kind of a sob story. Even he doesn’t care about his family anymore, so the Sokeefe supporters shouldn’t be using that as an excuse.
