When she was born in 1533, Elizabeth was a great disappointment to her father, King Henry VIII of England had hoped for a son and heir and was distraught and angry, when Anne Boleyn gave birth to a little girl, Before long the King ordered the mother's execution, Elizabeth was cast away, But as every student of history knows, that was not the end, Elizabeth would go on to be crowned Queen, What's more, she's widely-acknowledged as one of the greatest monarchs to ever sit on the English throne, ruling for an incredible 43 years.

I live in Tokyo and a couple of years ago the science museum had an exhibit, "The Human Body." It started with Elizabeth's notebook in which she had drawings of the human body. The book was written before she became queen. The details of the muscles and bones were very good!

It's messed up that she didn't pay her sailors who saved England from the Spanish Armada and instead was partying back at the palace.

ummmm FACT: Elizabeth was not the "only child" Anne had. She is the only one who lived past infancy. And Elizabeth had a household of servants too while she was gone. She didn't live in poverty. I wish I could go back in time just to say "It's the MALE THAT DETERMINES THE SEX OF A BABY, dumbass." lol to him and all the others like him.

@@wvmountaingirl1976 yeah your right Victoria, she had to write to Henry to ask for new clothes for Elizabeth because she was growing out of her old ones. I just think it’s ironic that Henry was so fixated on his son, when it was Elizabeth who would be the one that thrives and was a brilliant monarch, if not one of the best monarchs weve ever had (I’m from the uk btw lol) x

Once again you make false statements and seem confused about the truth yourself...for example= Elizabeth fell ill with the small pocks AFTER she had been crowned, so was wel over the age of 25...that makes her very much an adult in modern times and in Renaissance England that was middle aged as girls wed at 12 - 15.

Girls didn't usually wed until well after puberty and after they were old enough and experienced enough to run a house. Many working-class women weren't wed until after 18 or 20. Girls with a trade often had to finish their apprenticeships before they could wed. In some households, servants were not allowed to have "followers." Some couples just "kept company" until the girl fell pregnant and then they bothered to get married. Sometimes, it wasn't the wedding that was a big deal, it was when the couple "set up housekeeping," or finally began to live together. Wealthy and noble women were betrothed and sometimes wed at younger ages to keep their property or dowries tied up between their families of birth and their new husband's family.
