@annethornton9938 4 года назад
Jack Uzumaki perfectly natural for a beard to go grey that way. Most people go grey from the temples outward, and that could well apply to facial as well as hair on the crown of your head.

I know this video is old, but I broke my tibia so my mom is letting me put a single fish in my 20 gallon tank. I was thinking a halfmoon plakat male betta. What do reccomend for something individual and interesting, that can be aggressive or a little bit bigger at 3 or 4 inches?

I used to have a 20T with a nice assortment of fish until I added a pair of Jewel Cichlids. It didn't take long until I only had a pair of Jewel Cichlids and a lot of baby Jewel Cichlids, all the other fish vanished. I was young and didn't know better.

Hello I’m 6 months deep in the hobby now, I love the channel you provide a lot of great information and tips, I have a quick question about stocking an aquarium, how many different species would you say is too many for a community tank? I currently have hengeli raspbora’s (5), julii/sterba cory’s (3/2), odessa barb’s (3) and an albino bristlenose pleco. I wanted to add a couple leopard danio’s and a handful of neon tetra’s to add some mid to upper tank dwellers. Is having 5 or 6 different species in a 24 gallon too much diversity though?
@PrimeTimeAquatics
@PrimeTimeAquatics 3 года назад
I don't think it is too much. The neons might be a little better fit than the danios in your setup though.

Back when I used to work at my LFS, and we would always recommend danios as a starter fish due to their hardiness and higher activity. Personally, my favourite is the Kyathit danio, or the "orange-finned" danio! Mine didn't get as blue as I have seen in photos online, and I am still on the lookout for ones that have more of a leopard pattern (mine have more stripes), but they are indeed a cool little fish. They are nippier than I expected, so I would definitely recommend them to be kept in their own school in a 20, or for bigger aquariums, with more active tetras like Phantoms, Emperors, or Blue tetras. They like lots of open swimming space to zoom around! I would say they're underrated in my experience, usually due to the fact that they're not initially as flashy as a neon or cardinal, but once they colour up at home they put on quite the show. Great recommendations all around, and perfectly timed for my 20H overhaul :D

Slightly off topic, I'm raising 6 red shoulder severum in a 20 gallon tank, and I realized that in the wintertime the well water I'm using gets really hard. It turns out that this actually promotes the growth of your fish! I'm trying to find any literature or study on how this could affect the fishes metabolism in general but other than vast generalizations there is not much to be found. Spawning,laying eggs etc. Is a different story, but this is actually good news to all those that are constantly fretting about water hardness ph.etc.
@PrimeTimeAquatics
@PrimeTimeAquatics 5 лет назад
It can help by provided minerals the fish require. However, most wild-caught fish that normally reside in softer water may struggle considerably. You are correct, many fish that are naturally found in softer water may not be able to produce viable offspring in harder water.

It's hard to say. They can be a little rough on one another if you wind up with a bunch of males. I've had multiples of one kind in a 20 gallon long and 29 gallon with minimal issues, but they grew up together and had their own territory. If you try it, I would have a back-up plan just in case it's not working out.

I like your videos. I live in California and I have a 20 gallon fish tank. I want to put use it as an outdoor fish tank on the side of my outside bar on my patio that has a cover. What fish do you think I can use or try out?
@PrimeTimeAquatics
@PrimeTimeAquatics 4 года назад
Depends on the temp of the tank. If you think it will stay in the low 70s you will want cooler water fish like white clouds, hillstream loaches and paradise fish. If it's going to get into the upper 70s consistently, any of the fish listed here should work. Wish I could do that, but Chicago weather doesn't allow for it. :-)

So I am thinking about making a tank. I have a 20 gallon long and was thinking about 1 fancy goldfish in it. I kind of wanted one that was decently planted though as well. I’ve normally seen goldfish in a non-planted tank do you think that I could put a goldfish in a decently planted tank? Thank you.

@ Prime Time Aquatics, what would you suggest for tank mates for a breeding pair of pelvicachromis pulcher (Kribensis cichlids) in a 29 gallon long tank? It seems to be a waste to have that large of a tank for only 2 fish. Maybe a small school of some type of tetra or barb? Snails? Shrimps? If you had to set it up and the only restrictions were that it had to be a 29 long and had to have a breeding pair of pelvicachromis pulcher how would you set it up?
@PrimeTimeAquatics
@PrimeTimeAquatics 4 года назад
Good question. Snails and shrimp would probably be attacked if they get too close to their spawning site. Anything fast will probably eventually pick off all the krib fry too. I'd probably just move the pair into a 10 gallon or 20 and re-stock the 29.
@thomasashe2681
@thomasashe2681 4 года назад
@@PrimeTimeAquatics I don't have anything in the 29 yet and I was considering putting a breeding pair of pelvicachromis pulcher in it but thought that it would be a waste of space to have that big of a tank for only 2 fish plus I would want a clean-up crew. What about a few sparkling gouramis and an L 280 pleco (they only get 2.5 inches max). Would they get picked on or killed? I think that would look amazing if compatible. The bright colors of the Kribs mixed with the full colors and bright blue eyes of the gouramis and the mini pleco or pair of mini pleco for clean-up crew would all compliment one another if they can be mixed.

They there Jason. So, I had Dwarf Rainbowfish in my 20gallon tank, optimal water conditions, and i've had corys and mollies living happily in there for over 6 months.. Sadly, these rainbows passed only 1 week in the tank, do you know what could have caused this? Water was 0Amm, 0nitri, and very low nitra (planted semi-heavy) and the ph was around 7.5..the only thing i can think of is that it's the same thing that caused my mystery snail to turn black/brown and pass.. i think maybe theres some kind of metals in my water(like copper from the pipes) that's causing the issue, but i've had a betta live for a while in the water (same water as the snail) and as mentioned earlier, mollys/corys in this tank for a long time... any suggestions you might have for a 'centerpiece' style 'showstopper' fish for this tank? one that might be able to handle w/e hidden thing is in the water quality?

Depends on the tank, but I could see them working ok with angels. Hard to say for sure with the rams only because I have found similarly sized cichlids tend to chase each other around periodically. If I were trying that I would also have a back up plan in case they don't get along.

I'm thinking of getting like 12 cardinal tetras and a male betta, with live plants. The theme (u probably won't understand if u dont watch anime) is Hunter X Hunter and the 12 cardinal tetras are the 12 legs of the spiders in the phantom troupe and the betta is the boss (Chrollo), which is the head of the spider. I wanna get some snails too, it will be 4 and it would be Kurapika, Leorio, Gon and Killua. I feel like that's too much and let's add the fact that I wanna add 1 more type of like fish and that will be Hisoka but I dont know what to put. So that will be 12 Cardianal tetras, 1 male betta, 4 snails, and maybe like a smaller sorta catfish (hisoka). I always liked bettas and ive seen them live with other fish and that cardinal tetras are good companians with them also snails, but i dont know about a catfish if thats to much or maybe the catfish will bother the snail....i know their are some type of catfish that go well with bettas and are small. Its also a 20 gallon long tank. Tell me if thats too much fish or not.
