Tips: use an empty toilet paper roll or paper towel to boost items like the candles or tall bouquets to cut down on the "waste" (OCD and $ saver) of rocks at the bottom of your containers. If you are going to keep the container for the long run you can hot glue the roll to the bottom to maintain the structure over time. I used yellow & black split peas for yellow & black bouquets. The paper towel roll gave me a nice center for the flowers and cut down on the amount of peas used for each container. Use wire cutters to clip the popsicle sticks or tongue depressors sticks to save your scissors. You may need to use sand paper or a pumice stone to soften the edges.
I enjoyed this video very much! You are so creative! I love the way you paint your vases & plant pots to match your decor, thenput succulents in them .I love the macrame plant holders and the naugtical rope rug
Hey Liz these are all really great ideas! My favourite ones are the vases. I just love how you can really create a high end look with several vases and other items from the dollar tree!😘❤🙏🏽
I have been watching your DIY videos for a few weeks now and I am hooked. I love me some Dollar tree craft items and it's so cool to learn how to make them even better on a budget! Thanks so much for sharing your gift with the world!
I made the rope tray. Loved how easy it was. Then I made a lantern out of Dollar tree frames. It ended up being a little bigger than I thought it would be. I had a battery candle I put inside and ended up setting the whole thing on my rope tray. It looks great! Thanks for your super ideas.
Love, love, love! Just subscribed. I use to do crafts all the time but since I had my son (2yrs old now) I haven't done anything. This is inspiring me to get back into it. Keep the videos coming, lady!
these are awesome!! 🤩 definitely some of the best DT DIYs i’ve seen! for the tin full of rocks with a plant inside, what we can also do is put some foam at the bottom and fill the top with rocks. that way, it’s not so heavy, you can save more rocks, and the foam will still help hold it in place :)
Loved all of these, but especially the wall planters. I’m going to make some for my deck and, also, the birds.. “Birds?” you ask. Well, every spring some bird decides my planters would make a nice place to build her nest. Then, I can’t water my plant that’s in there. This way I won’t have to worry about it😂
That is my favorite craft, too. My daughter has framed photos & "family type quotes" (framed & also in adhesive form) throughout most of the house, but especially in the long living room. I think this craft would be an excellent place for the eye to rest - in one area of the living room. I will have to figure out what to do in a few other areas. Possibly some small shelves with hurricane candles in one area and glass bowls with succulents in another area. I LOVE THE IDEA OF CREATING OUTDOOR HALF PLANTERS FOR BIRDS! I live with my daughter now that Im medically retired, and she has a great covered patio. I want to spruce it up.. I sit outside for hours watching birds. I'd enjoy watching a family or two grow!
Every one of these craft ideas are wonderful! I have GOT to make that rug though...it looks amazing, and I would bet that no one would look at it and think it was home made! Thank you for so many great ideas, and thanks for including the links to some of the needed items. I’m so glad you included the link for the spool of rope! New subscriber here 🥰
Wow! You are SO creative !! Thank you for the inspo! ;-)......(Just a suggestion, to save a lot of rocks----maybe you could use some other type of filler (such as, wadded-up junk mail, styrofoam, etc) for the first layer, instead of using the pretty rocks that aren't visible.)
In my area, the Dollar Tree stores are so low on merchandise, they look like they are going out of business. It's frustrating when you want to create something specific. I hope this is resolved soon.
Tanya Karazan I have 3 DT’s in my local area and I have the hardest time finding the things most of the RU-vidr’s I watch find as well. Idk if you know that you can order things from DT’s website? You have to buy in bulk on most items but items we use a lot can be worth it. I am going crazy now because I can’t find the Farmers Market Calendar. I can’t find it on their website either. I almost died when I saw Liz use only a small portion of a page from one here in her channel. I have seen many other DIY’s here on RU-vid make amazing and beautiful things with them using all or most of a page. I guess I just feel like if I can copy the words alone with a sharpie or paint, why waste it?
The way you can go onto a site and look at some thing and then go to dollar tree and copy it for a fraction of the price is amazing you got a good eye there dear. And some awesome talent.
The other day, I saw a similar use of the "Adventure" "Explore" etc stickers that you put on canvas for your RV. However, the person had put the stickers on a map and had it hanging in her office. Using a map as the background made it all the more adventurous and "Wanderlust" appealing.
Glad I’m not the only one. I have a real problem I get things then come home and watch more videos and say well I can’t make that I have to go back and get it the struggle is real
Lol. Small world. I am sitting on my porch in....wait for it, ALTON, IL. and wish it wasn't 10:30 PM so I could go to the Dollar Tree in E Alton where that Walgreens used to be on Broadway. I will probably go tomorrow.
I'm new to the crafting world but I love your creations! I've been watching you for a while and I finally subscribed. Keep inspiring me. I'm working on a few your projects for the fall.
I use pool noodles and cut them with scissors (cut to size) and put them in pots for Faux plant designs; they work so much better than rocks or other fillers. My faux plants don't move at all and then I glue maybe moss/small rocks or anything you want to cover the noodle to hide any imperfections. It looks amazing and it really does keep the plants from moving.
Liz Fenwick DIY I’m sorry, I’m sure you get people telling you all the time different suggestions on what to use. I do Beauty Box videos and it’s very different, there’s nothing in my videos that would give somebody a reason to suggest something so again, I do apologize. You do have some wonderful and cute ideas. 💜🦋💜
On the macrame wall hanging- instead of time and glue wrapping around, try a Josephine knot or single crocheting your way around. It would be less likely to come undone without glue and would be less fussy.
Yep... my list was so long, I was overwhelmed! I decided to concentrate on one project’s supplies. Except I was still like a child in a candy store... where to look? 😀
wow ! Amazing JOB! comments are so judgy, but I Just came across your channel and love it !! Thanks for this video, this is great!!! I am so trying the nautical tray soon!
I found nicer tins at Dollar Tree that looked like antiques. I bought three and did basically the same thing. I use old rags to stuff pillows. Old T-shirts work best if chopped up into small pieces.
My aunt lives on a farm. She uses old t-shirts cut into strips to make cat & large dog beds. She has used several things for the outer cover. She said that this t-shirt strip method allows for the animals to snuggle down into it.
I'm going to make the rope baskets! I've been wanting to and watching your awesome video has me all inspired! 🤗 I just found your channel tonight .. love this video! 😊
So love all your ideas!! Keep saving your vids so I can go back to them. I am also renovating my RV so your craft on the half flowers pots for the wall is definitely one I will do! Thank you so much!!
I needed a back splash so I bought a bunch of glass beads from Dollar Tree and made them into a mosaic cementing them to the wall then I put grout between them. The glass beads cost me about $15. A similar effect would have cost me $40 at Home Depot. Plus mine actually looks hand made whereas the one from Home Depot looks machine made.
With the small wooden legs once the hot glue has set you can put a sheet of sand paper on a table or bench then gently rub the bottoms of all four legs at the same time on the sand paper and that should even them up. Don't use anything more course than 60 grit. Then your legs will be perfectly even. That's an old carpenter's trick.
These are great ideas, I have a cat and worry about poisonous plants. This way I can have both plants and cat. And not worry if he chews any of them. Just buy a few extra picks in case he does. You should be on HGTV with all of these wonderful ideas. So easy and inexpensive. Also great for teens and people who can't sew at all. Thank you, and God bless you.
Try using Ranger texture Paste instead of spackling for the pots. It dries to an amazing finish, and can also be painted. They also make a crackle paste that gives a wonderful distress look! Love your ideas! Thanks for sharing ;)
You could use a crochet hook or you could use one of those shish kabob sticks to push it through and on the flower pots when you're done let it dry get some clear shellac and just shellac them and they look very nice sorry I had to do three but it won't take anymore words
I love all 20 of your diys!!! Oh my goodness....you always think outside the box! My favorite is the DT rug pillow....I love how you used the yarn on the 2 sides, genius! I also love the monogrammed frame, the 3 succulents, the plant sconces and the canvas bag pillow! As always thank you for sharing your creativity and talent! Stay safe, healthy and positive! GOD bless you and your family! 🙏❤🇺🇸
On my goodness Macrame! I never thought I'd see it again!. Not since High School, it seems like a doorknob was what I used for the anchor, then you can sit on the floor and work away😬
Kim Boss yep , did that as well years ago, even made a diaper stacker by the baby change table, same idea as her hanging planter, but with a square board I covered with fabric! That was 1980 omg my baby is 40 this year! 😳
MinWax Stain from WalMart works the same way (depending of the surface you are applying it to) and costs less over time (a small can has lasts me countless projects).
