Ben E. King is a favorite, I grew up on the oldies and motown, Stand By Me is one of my favorite songs ever. I was surprised Ozzy's No More Tears wasn't on this list, or a lot of other iconic bass line lists I've seen/read.
Given the enormous talent over the years, it was a monumental task to narrow this list down to twenty. The choices you made are an excellent representative collection. Neat work!
Of course, even if you select 50 riffs, there will be a lack of lots of wonderful songs. I think for your second video, we need you play something by Rush, Primus, Black Sabbath and John Entwistle, please. And "Into the fire" from Deep Purple would be not so bad...
@@leonid7785 It's still some classical bass lines. Such as any of them in the videos, I saw the RDCP, Ben E King and Queen everywhere too. (same as Gorillaz) So it doesn't work. Where is Dream Theater with Panic Attack too? This man is insanely talented, no doubt about it. Just missing some stuff there, and some choices I don't understand. It's just different culture I guess.
Yo, that was sick! You got all the "required ones" lol plus a few ones I didn't even think of but totally deserve to be there but I was kinda disappointed in the lack of TOOL basslines, Justin Chancellor's Bass is legendary, like Forty Six & 2 and Schism are awesome baselines.

I think Al Cisneros from Sleep should get a mention. Dragonaut one is very relaxing and groovy one. I would also put something from Lemmy as well just because of his wildly different playing style and overall tone.
Ur good but, what is with san andreas intro? Oooor the chain fleetwood mac? Thats in my opinion one of the best bass riffs, everyone who this song cuz of the bass line and ooohh YYZ Rush.
Being a bass player myself I always struggled to read the sheet music because it's flipping in my eyes top down G,D,A,E yet on the bass its E,A,D,G so I end up having to re right it like it is on the bass just so my brain can understand it
