I've seen people talk about using the redstone output from the chiseled bookshelves to make a secret door. If we combine that with your idea to use the chiseled bookshelves as flooring, the secret door could be almost impossible to find. (Also very easy to lose lol)
I can imagine chiseled bookshelves being used not only as a secret passage way, but as a trap. You gotta know which book to pull or else you will trigger traps instead. Could make for some fun puzzle type adventure maps.
@@MiyuwiTV disagreed. bamboo blocks are super yellow-tinted, a flushed out tannish color is far better in terms of wood based building and more accurate to real life.
I’d personally like to see bookshelves (both kinds) come in wood variant colors. I could see the sides of the chiseled bookshelves used in a British style as wainscoting
That and the campfires would be really nice to have different wooden variants of. It would also be nice to be able to make a bundle of sticks for each wood type that looks similar to the bamboo blocks. No clue how crafting for that would work without changing sticks though.
@@legorocketraccoon8297if it's just as a decorational block, then you could just surround a log with regular sticks and the outcome block would depend entirely on the log used
The ability to make a classic secret bookshelf door that opens when you pull out a certain book might be what gets me to learn redstone after almost ten years of playing the game.
Minecraft logic. You use six wood and three books to craft the original bookshelf, which has about 20 books on each side. But if you put one book in the chiseled variant. One book is inside the shelf.
Ok, I’m brave enough to say it. 10:56, the first one looked better. Idk what the wall is for, but for the way I build adding trapdoors and fence posts would get in the way. It just breaks up the pattern too much for my taste. Do with my comment what you will!

I'm very excited for the chiseled bookshelf. It'll be a huge upgrade to my world. I like the idea of bamboo wood and the texture is really good, but I don't have any build ideas. The torches shown in the video were a nice decorative idea.
You can use the side of the bookshelf as a wall skirting at the base of the wall and then add the bamboo designs to act is a wallpaper or terracotta as wall paint. Edit, this would be great for mansion builds.

What if you could add an item to a hanging sign like how you can with item frames? That would limit the text even further, but add a really cool effect as you wouldn't have the air space between the sign and item frame

Can the new hanging signs hang from trapdoors? An item frame can be placed flush against the trapdoor so if the hanging sight can be placed under that you get rid of the floating item frames.
The sign tight rope is what I've been needing for my circus. Only question. Can villagers path find across them? I guess I'll find out tonight. I'm excited!
Be nice if u could put hanging signs against the side of blocks so it looks like it’s hanging by a nail on the wall. The pole should be a separate block
Questions for people playing the snapshots the new hanging signs can we place them on the side of fences instead of hanging off them and get that beam coming off the top of the sign connecting it to the fence? it could be used for road signs
I don't like that they call the woven bamboo bamboo mosaic it makes no sense. Also the woven bamboo is what bamboo walls are like in real life ( or at least as I see here in Indonesia )

It would be cool if we could use bamboo as piping for possible water and lava transfer and then also updating mining by being able to make automatic mining like in the Tekkit mod
Gonna be honest: Most of these build tips are terrible. The "realistic" bamboo wall sucks, the "bamboo pile" sucks, and the "camel seat" is absolutely ridiculous. Who would ever build like this? That said, I do like the idea of waterlogging bamboo in order to create decorations... I may use that in conjunction with actual lapis block floors in my desert builds. Thank you for the idea!
an obviously half assed video pumped out to try and capitalize on the new stuff, lol. can’t blame him but yeah.. the majority of these were super iffy and i doubt anyone wanting a decent looking build would use them.
1:19 they actually serve a reason if u wanna get easier fortune or silk touch or any "better enchant" u get higher rate if u got more bookselves for example fortune to be at max % chance need 3 more bookshelves and lvl 36 on enchanter but its dosnt show it it counts look i up ;D
