That was so cute Kelli, we had in our family history a person who was a lamp lighter which was considered a very important job in old times as people relied on them to see their way. I'm pretty sure the sticky out thingy was to rest their ladder against to light the wicks because the lights were I'm pretty sure either kerosene or oil, so for me this was super cute and part of my families history, thanks again Kelli 😃

I went to the Denver Botanic Gardens on Saturday. I combined your guidance with a photo I took. Next to the bench was some old fashioned plumbing. The arm supports curved at the end and the back rest had vertical slats. I did not worry about counting the boards. I loved your lamp post!
