I cannot believe you just called Jackfruits tasteless!! Did I hear that right or was I just hallucinating?? Because I love love love jackfruit! And not as a meat substitute! But as a fruit, on its own. When picked and eaten fully ripe, it has a wonderfully sweet scent & taste. My family is always on the lookout for good jackfruits sold at the market. Maybe what’s sold as meat substitutes in the US are not jackfruits at all, but what we call Kamansi (Breadnut) in the Philippines. They look like miniature jackfruits, are picked before they fully matured, and are cooked as vegetables, usually with coconut milk.

i have been eating the Harankash almost weekly with big quantities and its really amazing, and here I am, 58 yrs of old and still alive :) Also we have teh Loquat in Egypt, but its called "Bashmala" and its such tasty fruits as well.

Jackfruit when ripe is sweet fruit... Can eat alone, or mix when cooking desserts If its green, its a good vegetables. I love it sauteed or with coconut milk.

Custard apples are called custy is Jamaica and the pictures that were shown were both Custard apples and sweetsops. A sweetsop is a different fruit from the Custard apple. The smooth fruit without the seeds is the Custard apple and the bumpy fruit with the seed is a sweetsop and they taste completely different too.

So here in Jamaica we as children would eat a tiny little fruit to the version of passion fruit called “sweet cup” not much persons know about it. And another one called jimbilin it’s tiny and related to the star fruit.

Dragon fruit is okay. Like a kiwi but less taste/flavor. Ive only recently noticed them in our stores here in Canada but they've been around a while my mom said. Just not every grocery store has them and when they do they don't seem to stay on the shelf long, not that they are being sold out but only having a limited supply and a wait for more. I tried it only once, right now it isn't in store that I know of
