Here's how copyright works on music: Works created on or after January 1, 1978 are protected for 70 years after the death of the individual author. Where there are two or more individual authors, the term lasts for 70 years after the last surviving author’s death. For “works made for hire,” the term of protection is 95 years from publication or 120 years from creation, whichever date is earlier. Works created before but published or registered after January 1, 1978: The copyright term in these works is generally computed in the same way as for works created on or after January 1, 1978, provided that in no case would the term of such copyright expire before December 31, 2002, and for works published on or after that date, the term will not expire before December 31, 2047. Works created and published or registered before January 1, 1978: These works are generally protected for 75 years from the date the work was published with a copyright notice or on the date of the registration if the work was registered in unpublished form. For such pre-1978 copyrights still subsisting on October 27, 1998, Congress extended the term by 20 years, providing for a total term of protection of 95 years. Everything that doesn't fit that copyright criteria is considered public domain and can be used by anyone, for instance, Beethoven's music.
Not entirely true. Playing someone else's recording is infringing on the performer's rights. And the studio which recorded it. so, if you play Yo Yo Ma playing a cello sonata, there are a few ways to get snagged. I do a lot of digital transcribing. I use Sibelius with PhotoScore to scan scores, then add instrumentation in Logic Pro X. It's more of a hobby, because , yes, it is time consuming. But, I won't get snagged for any copyright issues. Lots of public domain music available, but many of the recordings are not.
Yeah, the guy that commented is correct, the original sheet music and performance rights are public domain, but any recordings of the performances from I believe 1942-now are copywriten and can’t be played without obtaining mechanical rights or performance rights for that specific use of the recording, unless it’s for educational purposes for that specific piece of music. Copyright law is really confusing sometimes. I took a number of courses in it and still don’t understand some things.
Not sure if he mentioned this but you can create a couch or desk guardian area too. So when u sit on your couch it turns into a virtual couch - same with desk. Its really cool when u are in the virtual environments or playing something like a fishing game. U are sat right in the virtual chair.
Super star or anyone else, how do you make a guardian area around a couch. I have bad knees and need to be careful. Just can't stand to long. Thank you.
Ok CrisperDad. How do I make my resolution better on Walking Dead? I cant even read any papers I pick up. Do i need to have a good pc? Or can I just do this on the quest 2?
Echo VR is amazing but I can’t even get passed the tutorial without feeling nauseous because of the zero gravity feeling! Sucks cause I want to play it
Really? I just got my vr and echo was the first thing I ever played on vr and i wasn't dizzy or anything. Hope you get to overcome it because it's fun to fly lol.
So far this week I sent back a Vive cosmos for controller tracking issues, a Rift s for general connection issues and now my Quest 2 will come tomorrow😁 All I wanted to do was play Half life Alyx
For anyone wondering to enable 90hz properly use sidequest and when you choose ADB commands you can go up to 90hz which applies to all games of course it's not perfect but if you want the 90hz compability on all games def use sidequest ADB commands or just look up a tutorial if you don't understand how to use it there's tons of them all over youtube
this is correct. You need to plug in your Q2 and open sidequest and run the allow 90hz script (download BMF's batch file it will do all the scripting for you). So everytime i use my Q2 i plug it in, turn it on, allow data transfer over usb (in the headset after you plug in usb to PC), then open the batch file from BMF, then you will have to shut off the screen and turn it back on (on the quest 2) then its finally in 90hz mode for games.
Waltz of the Wizard has a(n experimental) hand-tracking mode that's neat. This, along with the upcoming expansion that seems to be adding some sort of dungeon crawling aspect to the game, made it a day-one buy for me. The free game Elixir is a neat little --tech demo--game that is should be longer or get expanded on later. That hammy witch character is too fun to listen to.
Does anyone know how to get back to the original environment when you first start the quest2? It was my favorite, but when I tried the other environments, I can't seem to get back. It had a window with a view of mountains that was really cool.
Idk if you’ve done it yet but i had the psvr and then got the oculus 2 and the psvr is garbage compared to the oculus 2. Seriously do it right now. The graphics are WAY better. Portable with no cables. Better controllers. Better home screen. More games. Internet (wink). And more accessories to buy for it. Hand tracking and camera mode. A lot more too. Just saw your edit that you’re already ordering one lol but hey hope you enjoy it
Just got the Oculus quest 2 for Christmas and I'm wondering what game that is that you showed on your video, it was a war game and they were on the beach???
I don’t have the voice command option. I tried setting the language to English (US). But it still doesn’t pop up in the setting menu. Any idea? Great vid btw. 👍
I was wandering if you can just plug the charging port into a pc or laptop and that will give access to the games and things instead of getting the link cable
Buying a quest two tomorrow cause I feel it’s worth every bit of money you spend It’ll complete me owning the main gaming methods PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Switch, then VR honestly I really enjoy everything and after testing the quest 1 and PSVR I have very high expectations after seeing how nice the quest 1 is and people now saying it’s kinda bad
You can use those wrist tethers as knuckle straps in a pinch. Just take the tether out of its socket, loop the far end through itself around the controller ring band, and put the base of the tether back in its socket. Easier to demo than describe! LOL
I have 2 kids so I bought 2 oculus quest 2 units. Do I have to buy the same game twice, one for each oculus? Or is there a way to buy the game and install it on both units?
Just so you know, I play/use a lot of music, and all classical music from before 1960s are fair game. No copyrights attached. Keep on being awesome my dude. Thanks for the hax ;)
Just watched this... ! Its by Far the Most helpful & Best yet seen. Thanks, brotha! Quick, easy, and on point! 45 days in & Lovin the VR experience... Thanks again for your help; It seems you touched on a lot of the priorities, thats awesome. 👍 👍
Just wanna point out a small detail, Fur Elise was in 1867, and is now in public domain. Don’t worry about using classical music bc most of it isn’t held by any one person.
I have been watching loads of videos about the oculus quest 2 and most of my friends have one and I just started saveing but in my opinion it will take a while to get it
How do I enable standalone 90hz mode with the current firmware version today? i couldn't find it in experimental, probably because of all of the new firmware updates.
I am not a proud user of the oculus quest two yet but I have high hopes that I will be getting it for Christmas though and I am so excited I watched this video so I could know what I’ve been looking up to and I think that I really want one and it’s really good I’ve never had a VR experience in my life but I am very excited the game I am most excited about to play is beat saber so see you in the virtual reality world hopefully!🙏
@@kenny91104 I think you're missing the point. He quite clearly says that this is not possible on the original Quest, which is not true. But I absolutely agree.. Bluetooth headphones are not good for gaming
May I ask, can you cast to a Roku tv?? Because my entire family has Roku TVs and we all share my oculus quest 2 and take turns playing games but we like to watch so we gotta watch on my phone which is really blurry. 🙃👍
My question is this if u have the quest 1 and 2 can u have both running the same account and game at the same time so basically double up so someone else can play with u?
Good video , but what is a delay in latency , is that where there's an amount of time that goes by before you experience latency ? Perhaps you meant an increase in latency ??
And for wristbands you cam make the into handstraps if you use rubber band and make like a slingshot around the top part - just take out the bottom like in the video and lock it down..
I tried backing up and saving my data and on side quest I didn’t get any errors or anything but it didn’t give me my save data on my quest 2. If games weren’t supported, would it give you an error?
That button for 90hz refresh rate doesn't show in my quest 2 settings. When i google the issue it says i need to enable that button from the questside software and my laptop's gpu unfortunately is not in the supported gpu list of Oculus so i can't use the software . My question is was that option already installed when when you purchased the Quest 2 or you enabled it before making this video?
Informative vid 👍 hey I don’t have the developers tab anymore on the latest sw version.. did they remove this feature? Tryign to get rid of the guardian so we can walk around our home environment
so I just got mine and the display is kind of blurry, but not to a point that I can't read text. I just want the display to be clear so I can see games better. Is there anyway I can make the display clearer?
Depends on your eye spacing. The sad reality is that if your eye space is above 68, you can't do much but you could shove a foam insert between them to force it. If you have smaller eye space, well the guy already told you you can move the eye spacing between the 3 settings
Does anyone know how to "tab" back into a game/app? I tried using voice commands and it brought me back to the home environment, but I couldnt figure out how to tab back into the game after without restarting the app, using the bmbf for beatsaber mods so its a pain to relaunch every time.
This is what I wanted to know..what other things can do other than games like movies n youtube,,,,,is it always connect to the pc??? I don't have a pc, only laptop and samsung tablet
