Security as a whole, we monitor systems we check doors we keep vigil has over other people's property and get paid less than anybody else, the police cannot be everywhere therefore the security guard must be a deterrent. Oftentimes security officers are asked to work extra long hours for little pay, is our job is important yes do we get any recognition no everybody thinks a security officer a joke, until you need help then you try and find anybody that looks like they have authority usually just security guard.
This is true everywhere they put us in danger for little money. Why do we do it? Lmao idk really. I started it to help people but now just watch Netflix the entire shift
I got lucky and found a security job that pays pretty well and gives a decent pay increase once you get a permit to carry a gun. I've only made it to the OC/pepper spray and baton certifications which was only a $1.5 increase.
im always on high alert having had a bit of military training from soldiers /friends..been through ALOT of abuse in all ways that's made me a stronger and mentally strong vigilant person and more determined at success in anything i put my hand to...I've been a victim of multiple abuse that has made me a very angry person..but i also have a tremendous amount of self control . Id make a good security guard..
A good security guard knows when they can de escalate and knows when use force right away. You cant always de escate. Follow my simple tips and you be fine. Be on time and in uniform/propper dress Act professional at all times Follow your post orders and use good judgement for those "gray" areas.
They won’t pay better because they know you gonna go to a site and play video games or watch Netflix on your phone to kill time until your shift is over

Qualities you'll be hard pressed to find in many guards due to the terrible pay. I worked security for 12 years, enjoyed it for the most part but the ridiculous hours (12hours every day) and the poor wages (just enough to pay bills and rent but nothing more) meant i gave up and left the role,a role I was in for 10 years. In that time I'd come across more guards than I can count on my hands and feet, some were good but most were awful and had no drive to do anything, the poor pay didn't help. If companies/employers want good guards they need to pay reasonable wages.
a good security guard should ALWAYS HAVE AT LEAST A BATH TWICE A DAY AND USE ANY KIND OF PERFUME TO SMELL GOOD ALL DAY! SOME OF THE GUYS I FIND DON'T BATH MAN AND I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY ON EARTH THEY ARE ALLERGIC TO WATER??? SO PUT IT ON TOP OF YOUR LIST FOR A GOOD SECURITY GUARD.

Who is this guy, he doesn't even know what the hell he's doing he's stuttering all over the place. I am a security professional I need to know what company he represents so I never work for that company, the way he represents himself is appalling. Which he does know what he's talking about but the presentation is awful.One of the things that security companies often do is look at people who have a have experience and put them at the bottom of the pile,people who have been in security for less than 6 months have high responsible positions, and then a crisis situation will not know what to do which will make it even worse.
