Thank you for your channel Darren! Thank you for including foreign films and a speedometer for foreign films. I have an odd attention span in that I understand foreign films reflect the culture they from... as an example I own two versions of the 47 ronin story from Japan. Talk about slow burn films. The two I have are Readers Digest equivalents, on is about two hours and forty five minutes abd the longer is over three and a half hours. Yes, one needs to bein a mood for them... but they have such beauty and show insight to the popular current Japanese take on this foundational story of their past. These films open up minds to how a culture thinks and lives according to firmly held beliefs. Keep up the good work from a newer subscriber

Memories of Murder (2003), the good the bad the weird (2008), the Chaser (2008), a Dirty Carnival (2006), New World (2013) are examples of the golden age of South Korean films 2003 - 2013.

Things to do in Denver is one of my all time favorites. Andy Garcia is such a smooth character. Boat Drinks! Running Scared is also so killer, the parallels of playing out like Grim Fairy Tales makes it so amazing. The Hansel and Gretel scene is creepy AF.

19:09 Running Scared (2006) is hands down, one of the greatest anxiety inducing, white knuckle rides of its genre. This movie is truly intense. It buzzes along with its plot involving Russian gangsters, guns and chase scenes, and then, out of nowhere we get thrown a curve ball that is both terrifying, sickening, and honestly one of the greatest revenge fantasies ever committed to film. The nod to Nosferatu in shadow conveys its message on the subject without being too obvious, and places the film a cut above the rest in its genre. This crime thriller triggered my anxiety more so than most modern horror movies.

My cousin and I used to talk about how this movie was crazy and just when you thought it started to settle down it hits you with more, we joked that when it comes to fucked up movies this one has it all

First; Peanut is cool! She looks like a sweetheart. Dude, I LOVE your content! Always enjoy your listings for their honest approach to the benefits and caveats of the suggestions. And... your humility is appreciated as well. So many reviewers are full of themselves, as though we should all agree with their choices. You don't do that; you give details and why we may or may not like a movie, then tell us why you recommend it. Refreshing always. Take care of your pup. The other Running Scare, from 1986, with Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines is one of the best movies I've ever seen in my life. I watched that movie well over 30 times.

Nice choices, thanks for sharing. It's interesting how often you mention the appearance of a low budget in your film descriptions here. When you recommend films to friends/family/viewers, do you often get asked "was the budget low on that?"

Thanks for doing the leg work to make the recommendations. When I looked for Nekrotronic it didn’t find it and the D&D movie was a rental - not included with the Prime Video ‘free’ movies. I think you said that these were included in the Prime Video but it may depend on your region I guess. Cheers

I'm a big fan of South Korean films. I saw the movie I Saw the Devil and it became my number 1 film knocking Train to Busan to number 2. I think I'll watch it again. Great list so thank you for the suggestions.

I’ll tell you what, even if your videos somehow do end up out of circulation, you’ve done _such_ a good job building your brand, I’ll end up looking you up when I want to hear some good/ rare/ strange/ scary/ even weird movie recommendations. And just like that, right back into circulation. And I won’t ask you to sort of cut your own neck so to speak, but can anyone recommend, like, movie RU-vid channels they might like to check out? Particularly like horror movie recommendations? I’ve seen a few here and there talking about their favorites and whatnot but idk just looking for something more obscure. Something maybe not available for streaming, something worth questing for watching.

Funny, I almost never go on again cause I hate navigating it and I don’t ever think of acting great coming from it, so far you listed some bangers, in my second video from your channel and is a breath of fresh air. You mention some real gems.. some I’ve seen , some I haven’t but the beauty is they’re not really mentioned often. Great taste, Definitely my style .

Your commentary on The Double caught my attention. You mention that the Double novel by José Saramago loosely inspired Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. I'm wondering if you ment that The Double was inspired by Fight Club, since Fight Club was published in 1996 and The Double was published in 2002? Great picks here, by the way.

There are a lot of movies on this list I need to watch. While I have seen the D&D movie because people were raving about it so much, I didn't love it as much as others. Yes it was a good movie with some funny parts but I don't think it deserved such a great big hype as it got.

Dark Blue, Soldier and Breakdown are three of the best movies Kurt Russel has ever done, excluding Big Trouble in Little China which really just stands on its own. Side Effects is also a really good movie.

Executive Decision is another non-Carpenter film that really holds up, and is a great "Jack Ryan " type role for Russell. And yes, Breakdown is an underrated gem.

I am really enjoying working through this list. I started with number 1 and working backwards. I just finished Coherence. Such interesting choices. The only one I haven't really cared for is Dungeons and Dragons. And I didn't think I could take the Cannibal movie. Thank you for providing this list. That cannibal movie Bones and All is super good! A great and equal mix of horror and drama with a bit of romance. It can be seen as an allegory for addiction. It really stays with you afterwards. Acting/writing really well done. Can't say enough good things about it.

Would love to hear your review of Alex Garland’s “Men”! I saw it yesterday and it’s probably the weirdest movie I’ve ever seen. I actually looked away several times because of the disturbing images (and that’s not like me) but it was like a dang car wreck!! Loved it….hated it!😂

I just watched light of my life last night per your recommendation and yeah it's not as Depressing as the Road but it's still pretty sad 😢 and the ending just kinda abruptly ends with nothing really getting resolved and it's also slow moving so you have to be patient with it with that being said it was still a pretty good movie with Great acting from the 2 leads I just think the writer director etc could have done way more with this setup then they did with it I would still recommend the movie but I would say keep your expectations low when your watching it

Try Bittersweet Life, also from Korea. It's a mob/hitman movie and one of my favorites. Also if you haven't seen The Good, the Bad and the Weird, that is a must see from Korea.

Observe and Report is so underrated, and I think it would've done way better in the box office if the awful Paul Blart Mall Cop movie didn't come out at the same time. Thanks for the great list, going to check out Inside and Coherence.
