I'm of the opinion that imperfections are an important part of life. Challenges and hardship teach us new things and make us stronger (ice cream making us fat teaches us discipline). Which means that peoples' described "perfect worlds" would probably be sub-perfect, and an actual perfect world would include some seemingly undesirable aspects. But then who's to say that this current reality I'm experiencing isn't

I would absolutely want to try it out.

Why does the simulation need to seem real for us to choose to live in it? This raises a bigger question about how we should interpret what other people value, and maybe about what we should value. Society might tend to see an adult who spends the majority of their time indoors playing Second Life as a failure or someone who isn't "experiencing life" correctly, but that's because we don't value the fiction of the game. If it brings that person joy and meaning, what else is there?

Good video. I think the problem with such a choice would be in handing over our personal power for somebody else to look over, such as an AI or the company running the server farm responsible for housing us. I think this is the real question: Do we want to give away our power to an external authority, or would we rather take personal responsibility for our lives and keep our volition within us? I think this is always the question, and joining an alternate reality poses the same question. (External vs Internal locus of identity/control in psychology.)

Interesting question. I'd probably take Cypher's choice. If there was no way to separate the fiction from reality there would be no reason for me to not choose a "perfect" reality. "perfect" video games in that context are described as simulations of heaven, as in: no pain, no diseases, no death, everyone is happy and friendly, no labor, no challenge - in such a world yes, you would go crazy.

I don't know if i would've taken cypher's choice. I would have to explore that virtual world and decide on the one-way trip then. However, in sci-fi there isn't a lot of exploration into alternate VR life. VR would be an escape during long interplanetary/interstellar travel.

I think it more likely that our brains would be scanned and digitized instead of attaching electrodes to a brain in a jar. You forgot to mention that It might be that we are already artificial. We may simply be data objects in a large simulation.

Strange thing is why can't people decipher names to see that they display computer function= I'm not sure most people are conscious ai/people but they are being used as red shields which is why the name Rothschild if you look it up means red shield which is also a reference to double crossing Taurus or TaunTing that figure it's why Orion is in front of Taurus by way of Scorpius Taurus's EX as he would be the X she represents the figure causing the remainder of unbalance equation or catch 22 which is represented by her claws on the Scale/Libra(royalty of Scorpius are known to have 12 finger's or the Sith 66 hex on Masters/Mastro's in Italiano lol is 33 they use this as order 66 in StarWars among the other appropriate names far to appropriate like many things for the environment to be "natural" in the context that most people/programs seem to think). What if everybody enters a Matrix-Like world voluntarily every work-day, where your body is perfectly maintained in peak physical condition by a machine. So you develop and produce IP through whatever interface, but in a perfect environment for you and your team, then when you get out your real-world physical body is perfectly healthy to go out and party your a** off, or run a family, or climb a mountain, or whatever you want to do. That's an augmented future I would get behind.
