Any chance that you know why trying to run something intensive just automatically causes it, or something else, to be closed down completely? No chance to wait or force quit. It just closes. Nothing was having trouble running, but trying to run or open something would cause things to be closed. Is there a setting to prevent intensive programs from closing?

I have been exclusively daily driving Pop_OS for months now, and to be honest it is exceptional in how simple out of box experience it has... even dare I say... lacking. Though that would mostly be true for post 22.04 where the new gnome 42 is used, since gnome 3x is way too simple it just feels kinda hard to navigate at first. Though what gnome 3x has over 4x is support for extensions. You can heavily customize it with relatively low performance hit or crashing, while I've had way too much trouble with extensions on pop 22.04, to the point of them crashing my whole system, not even able to get a second tty showing. Though what 22.04 has from previous versions is that the GUI has a good balance between enough options/customizations to simplicity. Forgot to mention I am not a huge power user, my peak work is a word document or the browser, so for me I can live with not having stuff customized just because it is possible. As for other things for me it just works. I've managed to setup wine specifically for an app that I just cannot change to linux alternative, and it works pretty darn well. I'm no comp gamer so most if not all my games work almost flawlessly through proton. Yea, I've had trouble here and there but nothing that wasn't easily fixable. To be honest, I have tested a few linux distros, and the most stable for me was Pop_OS. I seriously couldn't recommend this distro more for daily use, especially for those who are beginners to linux and want a distro to just hop on and get work done. Speaking as noobie myself

Never use fractional scaling on laptops. It will take a big hit on the battery - around 25-30%. If you need something between 100% and 200% screen resolution fx with a 3k laptop screen, use instead Tweaks -> Fonts to scale the text. This will almost be like fractional scaling the screen but it will not hit the battery.

In the section on firmware update I'm a little confused. I'm running an asus n550jk laptop with an ssd. I was surprised to see that it suggests a firmware update and looking on the information page from System 76 it seems this is ONLY for their systems. Should I update or not? This is not my main computer but I do like to distro hop a bit on it. Great videos by the way.

Nice to try and as a stand-alone OS. However, dual booting is difficult and the System76 installation instruction do not even address this method. Hence, most Windows users will avoid this OS.
