Interestingly, A game from similiar time frame, Age of Empires 2, receives new updates every so often and got 2 new expansions, including the infamous Roberto Barbosa African Kingdoms and has a thriving community. It's not impossible to revitalize Diablo 2 since new content would be dirt-cheap to make and the game still has an active fan-base. Imagine a Diablo 2 Remaster, if you will, with new content, updated graphics, revitalized multiplayer and no microtransactions, lootboxes, DLC's, preorder bonuses, thus greatly improving Blizzard's image in the eyes of the public.

Sad thing is, the devs would likely make a great of a game without being constrained by publishers and shareholders nagging them into oblivion like a prime evil itself would to the holder of a soulstone.

Another secret. The Statues In The River Of Flame by the portal, they move their heads when you walk by. Never would of noticed it if a friend of my haven't told me about it.
#6 they're not trying to hit you, they're trying to climb out of the lava and are pulled back in. it's actualy really not rare at all and happens all around the river of flame map and it happens at fixed (short) intervals

Well, a Shako is nothing but a Leather Cap (in the highest tier). What you mean is a Halequinns Crest (which is a unique version of Shako). But nonetheless you've been screwed heavily
After playing Diablo II pretty much since it was originally launched, I have just recently noticed that at the end of the river of flame / entry to Diablo's sanctuary the statues would turn their heads to always face the character..! I know.. amazing huh? 😛

it's just a plugy mod. I use it sometimes too, it shouldn't affect stuff like that. but I guess it's possible it has something to do with it. still, never heard of that happening ever.
Uchiha Madara PlugY doesn't change the game in itself, it just allows experiencing online content in singleplayer mode and it allows you to collect your items and share them between your characters. In my opinion it's the perfection of Diablo II but i understand if you want to play the game in its original state
I distinctly remember, prior to the D2 expansion, the forums were already saying Assassin would be a class because Natalya was a hint about it. I remember not being surprised about the class when it was announced formally. What *did* surprise me was them remaking the Necro for D3.
"an evil force" is not the actual name of the cathedral windows, it just means that the actual name couldn't be found by the game (like missingno). I also think that the skeletons in act4 don't attack, but there is something similar in mephisto's room with critters that actually do attack (but I'm not sure I remember this one right).
Nice upload! I knew about the secret rooms in the Cathedral because I usually checked everything when I played D2. I also knew about the skeletons in the lava.
About the sound, the sound feature of bob the robber game on hudgames is also a clear one to hear of as it really sounded much absolutely in a good way..
It's been forever since I've played D2. I did know about the stones of Jordan being used as currency though because that's how it was when I played it.
This brings back memories. A unidentified Wind Force sells for 40 SoJ. If you id’ed and the stats weren’t good, it sold for 30 or 35. I used to bot farm for a bit and found a Wind Force. Sold it for 40 SoJ. My first Diablo 2 sales
Here is something I don't think you know. I got the "Evil Force" glass to spawn in a game with a druid and noticed that while I was around the glass the spirit which took damage during a fight would not heal up. I stayed a while to make sure of this effect and sure enough that glass seems to prevent summons from being able to heal up.

I do Remember that one of the items that also changed was the Stormshield, back in an earlier version was different, had different design and abilities
2:21 Lava skeletons - I would say, that the skeleton is not trying to hit you, it is trying to climb out of the lava (out of his suffering). It is hell after all.
"Soj for currency prior to Expansion was released and 40 of them trade for a Windforce bow." Windforce is an expansion item. But soj were still currency even up til patch 1.09. Then hrs replaced it. (And d2jsp of course.) Windforce was good back then though.
somethings you didn't know. on uswest you could get hex charms. 90 STR, 90 sex, 90 vit. small charms. also came in an energy version. They were the trade value over sojs in 1.09. also had white gloves and boots. That gave 90 all stats 90 ias, 90 fhr, and run walk. on useast. They had occyrings. Which was an Oculus orb mixed with an soj ring. this was my favorite. also had ith blades and zephry bows. look them up for more info.
Soj’s were currency during LOD as well. I was like 13 but I remember them going for almost nothing then being the most wanted item over night. I think the rust storm it was called got rid of a bunch of them so the value went up. That was all during lod I never played before lod
17 out of 20 I already knew. I'll contribute something I discovered that you may not know. Prior to my releasing the details to Blizzard, you could open your stash in Act 1 and while still in the stash clicking just off screen would allow you to leave town and wander the map. It was possible to exploit this to dupe items.
This isn't anything unknown to hardcore D2 players. But WF was definitely LOD item. Silks used to be the highest unique in the game until then. Got to love rolling with rares after beating normal. Doesn't matter how many Diablos are made, D2 still remains my all time fave.
D2 pro here in the old days. There was items that were Ethereal and if you socketed a zod then removed it they would continue to be Eth and you could further socket say ist to give MF. The most powerful item I had in this case was the Heavens Light Zod buged. I had some items in d2 most players will never even know about. D2jsp allowed top players to trade and earn Forum gold to then buy and sell. I had a few Insane items that were perm legit and unfortunately I lost all my accounts when my PC broke and had no way to stop the inactive account deletion. I lost LLD stuff that was one of a kind and would be Impossible to find today.

Act 5.There are two Barbarians below Larzuk,one wandering about and the other cooking some meat.The one wandering about will follow you if you go down to that little area. I am playing Path of Diablo mod and the 2nd barbarian seems missing so I wonder if he is removed in more recent patches or if it's just the mod.
i didnt know the expension thing, the crafting thing, decard cain, a1q1 666, guilds, gauntlets, azrewrath, i know how to distinguish baal by damage he's taking, diablo's voice..... and what i know you might not know is that you can teleport outside the bounds of some underground levels, especially in actII
And the arctic blast skill uses the jumping animation as well therefore the amazon disappears during cast while the barb and the assa casts this skill mid-air. And the unique sword Frostwind gives you this bugged skill. What a shame.
Actually, Natalya wasn't there when I played the original D2, before the expansion. I even installed it again years later to check. So i'm sure Natalya doesn't appear before the expansion.
All good except 14 is a wrong, Windforce didnt exist in vanilla d2. Unique items in vanilla d2 only went up to the first tier. Uniques such as windforce were added with LOD So trading 40 SoJ for an item that didnt exist, didnt happen.
@@ekoms108 No shot this is right either, considering Skulls were added in LoD. The Windforce was an OG item though, dude is wrong. They had uniques for all three item tiers.
Natalya has some secret speech, when you complet act 3 quest, she's gone, but when you party with someone that havent complete the quest, speak with her, she has some thing for you
damn, still secrets to this game, gonna cheack out those flame skeletons! maybe if you're interested: a video about old versions of the game. I have an old 1.01 CD here and I think I remember that the blizzard skill used to be like 30 seconds long, when fully skilled
What about the beds in act 2. They drop loot. And if you look at 100% of an act it will drop the same gear if you save and exit. Letting you get the same greens over and over
Ghosts quickly appearing and disappearing near Mephisto, while walking close to the portal to hell, will hit and damage you if you wait several seconds.
Nice. Thanks for video. Personally I would add there monster modificator "Thief", that was really interesting, but was removed because of bug. This modificator gave a monster chance to make player drop random potion from the belt on monster hit, but when this chance worked during barbs whirlwind (belt is unavailable) - the game would crash. It's a pity they deleted it instead of fixing.
