When you have high blood pressure you avoid canned food, I go for mark down veggies and fruits and get only meats I eat. Also my church gives fresh garden vegetables to members

I spent 2020 going forward building up my pantry and freezers. I shop sales and rotate through my pantry and freezers. If I had to go without a g overt store, I could go for at least a year. We would of course run out of some dairy items and eggs but I could put tasty meals on the table all year. I learned how to make substitutions for most dairy like milk, cheese and sour cream with nuts, nutritional yeast and oats. I stock all of those items. It’s good to be able to completely eliminate groceries off the budget if I need to

We stick to a $200 monthly budget for all our grocery and household needs. We also have a $20 eating out budget monthly. I shop lots of different stores to get everything at the lowest prices and do a monthly meal plan with food on hand. We used to meal share before we had kids too and we went back and forth on Friday nights for games and dinner at with friends. Love all the tips and I hope it helps a lot of people.

It really just depends on what we can eat and/or store. Sometimes I buy a lot more than other times. I’m all about not wasting food. You can check out my most recent video for my monthly grocery haul to see what deals I got throughout the month 😊.

My naybors used their extra and regular food stampa to get sodapop pizza and premade hungryman dinners. I used mine for basic 7 pasta potato flakes salt rice beans flour oats then id get 7 extra cans food id store. Then id get my groceries. Im on Social Security and SSI total income of $933 month no food stamps. Ive cut back all i can but supplementint with what i stored. I have what i prepped my naybors have nothing saved.

I'm an avid canner, everything from ketchup, mustards, relish to meats ,veggies. I do alot of big pot meals ,freeze them and fill my in laws freezer as well ....on the to be made list this week is seafood chowder ( I buy each thing as it goes on sale and stash it in the freezer until I have everything for it,lol) chili, mushroom soup ,stuffed pasta shells, stuffed peppers and biscuits that will give them quick meals for when they choose not to cook for a few months.

Such a good tip that I forgot to mention! I normally eat leftovers for lunch or we do the leftover/pantry night to make sure nothing is going to waste. It’s definitely a great way to save money on food 😊
