I clicked on this video as an ultrasound tech expecting the common misconceptions of ultrasound but I have to say this video is perfect. You covered so much and in simple terms. Thank you for this it makes our jobs easier!
Echoing everyone else but this has been so helpful! First pregnancy here and I've been finding it so useful to learn what I need to know from other mothers' experiences.
I find the Anatomy Dr makes me so nervous compared to my OB. I researched and choose my OB, but the Anatomy Dr I had no control over. I had my third Anatomy today. I’m 22 weeks, 2 days. I had a scan at 12 weeks, then 20 weeks, then 22 weeks.
Just had my anatomy scan, everything went well (thank God!). I too wasn’t allowed to record which sucked bc I would have loved to have that on video. Also they wanted an empty bladder for this scan. Very informative video!
Thanks for sharing your experience! I have my scan this upcoming week, i am a little nervous but excited! I was told that I do not need a full bladder for this scan so hmm. So i guess each place is different.
Thanks for watching!! That’s so interesting - every practice must be different. Are you finding out what you’re having? Wishing you a wonderful scan! It’s so fun to get to see the baby 🥰🥰
I'm having my anatomy scan tomorrow, and they told me a full bladder is not needed for me either. I already know I'm having a baby girl (based on the genetic testing that we did early on in the pregnancy), but it's going to be exciting to see the baby anyway!
My husband hasn't been able to make it to any of my appointments. He is a law enforcement officer. I planned this one around his schedule and then they changed it...I'm kinda heartbroken.
So I had my anatomy scan today at 21 wks pregnant and they made me pee before I had it done. So not every place is the same. But it was about 40 mins bc the machine messed up and had to reboot it but my baby was very healthy and growing right. Already 1lb and it was like a regular ultrasound except longer and I got to see his whole body and movements. He even gave a thumbs up and showing his fist ready to fight lol.
@@SimplyHandmade My anatomy scan wasn't good :( It's been a rollercoaster since then. We found out the baby has congenital chylothorax and hydrops and I've been in hospital for 12 days because I also have polyhydramnios and there's a chance the cord could prolapse if my waters go. I'm 35 weeks on Thursday and he's to be delivered this week and has a long NICU stay ahead of him.
@@hollymactaggart3769 oh holly! I am so sorry 😢 truly. I am glad they diagnosed him and you’re getting the care you need. Being a mom comes with a lot of stress at times - I’m sad you have to go through this while baby is still in utero. I’m praying 🙏🏾 so hard for a fast recovery for both you and baby!
Can the tech tell u the sex of the baby ? Or that would part would have to wait along with the additional information about the baby ? My appointment is tomorrow ! First pregnancy here😅😅😊🙏🏻💘
You most likely found out already, but for anyone else who's reading, this is where the tech tells you the sex of the baby (or not if you choose not to know!)
@@sylindacampos554 does make you feel uncomfortable during your scanning? I'm a bit nervouse now 2 weeks from now my apoint will be due for 20week scan :)
@@roselucas4431 don’t be nervous! Once you see your baby on that screen everything will be okay! I just had my son on the 9th due to preeclampsia his due date was the 27th. So definitely be prepared for the unexpected! Praying that all goes well and baby is happy and healthy 💙
I just want to say THANK YOU! Omg, this was calm, informative, helpful and direct. I’ve watched a couple of others and it’s just women blabbing about emotions-which I don’t really connect to, & isn’t what I’m trying to find. This video was priceless! It was perfect and you rock!
18 weeks tomorrow & I have mine tomorrow. I’m so exciteddddddd 🤍🤍 Blood test says a girl so I’m really hoping it’s actually a girl!! I got a tad excited with shopping
My wife and I are super excited! I’m also a little nervous though. Our anatomy scan is on Halloween! Same day as our gender reveal. It worked out great, because my doctor will only do the anatomy scan at exactly 20 weeks. We planned the gender reveal for Halloween not knowing that. It just so happens I’ll be exactly 20 weeks on Halloween lol.
@@SimplyHandmade our 20 week anatomy scan is next week. Very excited and nervous at the same time. But with the info we gained from your video, we're more mentally prepared for this appointment! Thank you again and 2 thumbs up for the well put together content!!
My anatomy scan is coming up on 4.10.19 and I was so nervous about what was going to take place. Thank you sooooo much for this video it definitely eases my nerves!
My ultrasound tech couldn’t see SQUAT. Basically didn’t see a damn thing....make sure you eat before hand so baby moves around. They didn’t give me any helpful tips.
This is my first pregnancy. I just had a pre or a semi anatomy scan at 15weeks bc I had a leep procedure back in 09. My next one is in September for 20wk scan. I never realized how nerve wrecking it is to have babies lol my bf has to constantly tell me to stop googling!! lol I’m trying to relax.. but my Goodness. Thank you for this video. Also.. did your tech talk you through what they were doing? Mine was silent it was kinda of irritating. I was constantly asking her what measurement is that etc etc. I’d like to know! 😢😂
I got my anatomy scan at 18 wks 4 days, the lady doing my ultrasound was very open with answering questions and told me she's scanned thousands of babies and didn't see anything alarming about my baby. So maybe it's different in different places 🤷🏼♀️
They are allowed to answer any questions if the results are normal. If there are any abnormalities, they are not supposed to say anything. Some techs opt to just not say anything regardless which is totally find to do too.
Thank you. This is very helpful..I have my 21 weeks anatomy scan next week friday and I dont know what to expect..so thank u for this info..its really helpful..
Same, my husband sits in the parking lot for all of them. He’s pretty bummed about it because we’re having twins and he’s only seen their 9 week picture
That sucks and is unfair. My paperwork regarding ultrasound stated no visitors either but I called the office to be sure and sure enough they stated I am allowed 1 person for support durning anatomy scan.
