Nearly all the wedding shots are NOT the Amish weddings, even though the narrator is describing Amish practices.

A dishwasher?? That was a shock. Enough to stop the video and write that a dishwasher is a shock. Heck, even I did not have a dishwasher until I was in my 40's when the house we bought already had one installed. Aren't there some Amish who have no electricity at all? But a dishwasher was one item I wasn't expecting to see - what a luxury!

happy is subjective and the subjectivity comes from how you are raised. You can be perfectly happy both ways or neither. In your case with comments like this I suspect you won't be happy even if you are free, you will always find something to detract from your happyness.

In the letter to the Galatians , the apostle Paul wrote of the severe dangers of legalism. The teachings of the Amish tout the legalism in how they live. There is absolutely no biblical authority for their rules and regulations. In fact, our Lord denounced the legalistic tradition taught by the Pharasees. That pharsaic teaching is exactly the parallel of Amish legalism. Salvation is only through God's grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). The price of Salvation was paid by the blood of Christ shed on Calvary. This Salvation can NEVER be reversed. Paul told us of our security in Romans chapter 8.

No where in the Bible does it say to live that way. A woman’s hair is her glory and to cut it too short like a man is a no no. Bed courtship is unacceptable.

Working while pregnant I disagree showing no emotions after giving birth I disagree not enough education I disagree treating your wife like a slave I disagree chores should be shared the dress code is BS too not being able to have necetties like a dryer or stove I disagree a woman should be able to show their beauty so I disagree with that too being brain washed that I disagree with too the woman can't make their own decisions I disagree with that too children toys they have I disagree with too I don't know about Amish rules I disagree with that too

These women obey Our Lord that her husband rules over her, due to eating from the tree of Knowledge. It's a little extreme, yet honorable. And so they enjoy the fruit of their labor and have no sickness, zero down syndrome. They are proof that Our Father made male and female only.

I could not live this way of life. My family has been freedom loving and rebelious since they settled in Jamestown VA. These women are strictly controlled by men, and don't yell me the long hair isn't something for men to enjoy. I have been paid to allow men to brush my hair long ago, and my late husband loved my long hair, loving to feel it and to watch me braid it. I cut it all the way back to hip length after he died. And those men- i can see those beards as a source of vanity. But hey, my family has served our country every generation so they could live their own way, so if these people want to do this then God's speed...
