20 years on, the Red Roses pioneers return to Twickenham! 

I can't remember the date - it was so long ago! - but way back in the day, I refereed Englnd Ladies against a Canada XV - at an Oxford college sports ground! As an Oxfordshire referee, and also a member of the RFU Panel, the game was rather lower in standard than I was used to - about equivalent to 16 or 17 year old boys - but it was fun, and I think (hope) that everyone enjoyed themselves, Moving on, when the Sixways stadium was being built in Worcester England Ladies held a grounp of trials there, and the senior one of that lot also fell to me. Two memories from that day: the showers were still under construction so I and my touch judges had to share (!) - not that we minded at all - but, more importantly, I'm still waiting for my expenses to be paid! Happy days!
