@@dumblenutz5561 it’s not a guaranteed save, survivor isn’t always going to be on a pallet, many times a killer can face a wall, and survivors who are going for saves aren’t doing gens

@@griffinpiercer Have you considered that the survivor can just... intentionally go down under a pallet or out in the open? You are not in control of where the survivor gets downed as the killer. If the squad is smart and plans to intentionally go down in abusable situations beforehand you can't counter it. You guys say this as if every survivor is braindead and makes no attempt to set up their teammates. Just because you lack foresight doesn't mean the survivors will too. Even if some survivors are not doing gens, you're also not getting hooks either. You are actively losing the war of atrition with every second you waste not be able to secure your hook after a chase because the survivor is guaranteed to get off if you pick up.

Same but it was a teammate and forgot for a few seconds it was buffed, then remembered it was 200% and not 150% now.

It's dumb AF, shouldn't be in the game in this state. Now flashlight saves take literally 0 skill. Before, you needed to be positioned well and get the timing right, now you don't need to do neither. They just realised that bad players were missing this mechanic, because of the lack of those 2 skill components, so they decided to give it for free for everyone. The thing is, I don't understand how people now can feel any satisfaction at all, it literally takes 0 skill and awards you for nothing.

The only thing this perk does for you is that your starting position doesn't have to be somewhere around the front of the killer because you can shorten the distance or get in front of him but the window between the pickup animation starting and you having to start shining is still very small so it's not like you can run 20 meters from behind the guy and still get the save. What happens is that killers aren't accustomed to this sort of variable yet so they make mistakes, allowing for Background Player to come in handy.

@@voicey5831 You are forgetting the fact that the survivor can just die in the open once he realises he's going down anyway, AND he could just die under a pallet. You can't do anything in those situations if they have that perk, since there is no room for mistake, you can't bait it like a Sprint, it's a totally noobproof perk, it's pointless to deny all of this. Ah and btw, you can't and don't have the time to make sure that nobody is in the area, they can just sit 20 meters away crouched behind a random object. So you are saying that the killer now has to check an area with a diameter of 40 meters around the slug, every time, just to be able to safely pick up someone and then be finally awarded for just doing his job (=downing a survivor)?

@@Crimok Honestly, imagine a mechanic where survivors after death can still move around the map, invisible and without seeing the killer and maybe other survivors, while also emitting an annoying sound only killer can hear when nearby (I don't know, maybe wailing?), which would weaken the more hook states killer got, to basically being negligent at 9 states, while being the strongest if killer has only did 3 states. Also, it woudn't work if you killed yourself on hook (if you missed more than one skillcheck on hook and/or forced yourself into phase 2 with self unhooking)

How many survivors bitched for months about Dead Hard getting nerfed? Killers get nerfed almost every patch, preventing the creation of a somewhat decent meta, yet survivors had Dead Hard as a meta for five years

@@D1V1sionn It was pretty good at it's intended use though? It made saves way easier if you were around, wich is what it's designed to do. Now it just outright guarantees saves, whereas before the killer at least still had a chance to get away with the pick up.

@@dumblenutz5561 As a killer main, I disagree. This perk fine as is. The only thing they need to address are the pallet saves (people intentionally going down next to a pallet). In SWF that is just too much. Let people have FUN perks. Movement speed perks are FUN & make the game less muscle-memory oriented and more reactionary (since you never know much much you can squeeze out from a chase, on both sides). Get over it.
