Hey, My name is Timtenth and I'm a german Minecraft builder. This is my new Viking Map. This project tooks 200 hours to build. This is an fantasy project and therefore there are also buildings that do not fit historically. I hope you like it. Do you like it?

@@BloodwyrmWildheartHe is partially right. This build is an exaggerated form of a Viking village. This is the modernized Viking village. The real Vikings did not use bones and horns, they did not build large bridges, they did not build a wall surrounding their territory, they usually never settled down near mountains. The list goes on, but you get the point. From an architectural standpoint, it is somewhat right. A lot of the inspiration comes from the different stave churches. Most of the stave churches were however built after the Viking era somewhere between 1100-1350. The Viking houses in the village does not look like Viking houses. This build looks like a fantasy version of the Vikings, almost like an orc camp.

@@Senka-jn2zt This build is highly inspirated by Skyrim. Vikings build small sattles and villages not big cities or structures. The houses were small mainly from wood with roofs covered by soil and grass usualy with round base. they build walls of wood. Basicaly they used wood, soil, mud and raw stones not much else, they used materials easily found around without complicated manufacturing, sometimes they just dig a round hole and build a roof on it. Vikings were warriors not architects and they build as simple as possible.

the thing i love the most about this one is the implied world building. some ancient group of people wandering around to find food and shelter, they come across this Fjord with the bones of along dead, massive creature, they decided to live their, in the shadow in the beast, believing it to be a God, as the centuries pass, it group grows and expands, building homes and eventually this city using bones of their god. they worship it and tell stories and legends about it. maybe it made the world, maybe its fought other gods, maybe a ancient hero vanquished it and in so, proving his worth and his children were allowed to live amongst its remains. so much fun potential.

I didn’t really appreciate the scale of the build until one and a half minutes in when parts of the outer wall you’d built started to unrender in the distance. Very impressive, so much creativity!
