In Part 13 I unbox the Yukon LSD and get it installed. I also do some general cleanup and painting. Then life gets in the way and I don't quite get it over the finish line. Part 14 coming soon.
Love these videos. As I mentioned before I have a 95 that I've done all kinds of work on in the past 5 years. Every time I figure there's nothing left that could need fixing . . . If I had the time, energy, and a nice shop this is the kind of thing I imagine myself doing someday. For now, it's fun to watch your journey.
That's one thing I've never messed with. My front & rear diffs have never had the fluid changed since I bought it 6yrs ago. I can't remember if you have them or not, but EBay has the ZR2 Skid Plates. I'd buy them & put em all on. Should be 3. I did the oil cooler delete also & got more oil pressure on my gauge. No more leaky lines.
My heater core went out, didn't leak but started blowing steam & I just disconnected & plugged the lines because the cheapest estimate I got was $700! To install a $40 part! I need heat but not that bad here in SE TX If you haven't rebuilt the tranny or had it rebuilt? I'd do it. Makes a world of difference when you get a HD Build. That stock Sunshield snaps so easily on the stock tranny. Mine snapped while driving like a Grandpa from a red light shifting to 2 then clunk! I was like OMG! The stock Cat Plugs easily also after 250k miles. I had a $80 Flowmax installed from AutoZone. 🤟 Keep on
I have a 2003 2 door GMC Jimmy. But because it was made in Canada where they made the 2 doors for two years longer than they did at the plants in the USA so consequently I often have problems ordering parts. Generally if I order parts for a 2001 model it works out. But I would like to convert to an LSD and I’m concerned about getting the right parts.
I have a 1998 gmc jimmy 4x4 sle. Has a 4.3l vortec a 4l60e and np233 transfer case,npo code gu6 axle code 3:43 gears. Want to put a locker in my rear like yours! How much and what would be the correct one for mine? Also would one needed for the front differential?
