The Gordie Howe International Bridge project is a once-in-a-generation undertaking. Not only will the project deliver much-needed transportation improvements for international travellers, it will also provide jobs and opportunities for growth to the Windsor-Detroit region and includes features that make this project truly distinctive.
The project is being delivered through a public-private partnership (P3). A public-private partnership is a long-term performance- based approach to procuring public infrastructure where the private sector assumes a major share of the risks in terms of financing and construction and ensuring effective performance of the infrastructure, from design and planning, to long-term maintenance.

they should at least update the signage of the two bridges, so that the ambassador is "to canada - local/windsor" and the gordie howe is "to canada - 401/toronto"

The bridge will be completed the summer of 2024, no idea when it'll be open to traffic though, Canadian news outlets reporting both sides meet in the middle this summer which will be cool to see

Let's hope that this bridge won't end up like the Tacoma Narrows bridge.
@Sandra-mw3yp

I'm from Windsor, and I LOVED Tacoma when I visited in 2009 fell in love with the city and Seattle itself. I wish I could of stayed. I loved the layed-back feeling/vibe of both cities. But as for the Bridge itself, The Tacoma one was built in the 1940's and soon after, a strong wind twisted the deck and finally tore apart. Later after WW2, the 2nd span was built in the 1950's using the same infustructure as the previous bridge and improved technology. So fast forward to 2024 and all the new and improved technology in use today, I don't see no reason why not. The only factor as my cousins in Vancouver has mentioned to me is that they have simular cable-stayed bridges and everytime it snows, ice rain, and that when they cable-stays shake and release the ice, snow, it all comes crashing down on the cars below.

I live beside it. It'll be crazy the first freezing rain storm. Could easily take it out if we got one like Montreal in 1998

Remember, they built the Empire State Building in under a year. Constructions jobs take way too long and cost too much. The road construction proves that.

@@ischiagiorgio I find it troublesome that you can’t correlate the point. You won’t understand this, but the worlds tallest building of its time was built in about a year and this bridge will take 5 years. The might Mac, one off the longest suspension bridges in the world, at 5 miles from land to land was built in 3 years. We are not getting better at building things

should be paying everyone in Sandwich at least $2000 for the lung damage. Can't even send water trucks down the street or a street sweeper. I should've recorded the 70 year old woman on Sandwich st today telling how angry she was. I agreed, worst construction company ever

Harper totally screwed us over on this bridge. Despite studies showing that it wasn't needed, he insisted that it would be built and because it wasn't coming out of that a'holes pocket, he guaranteed the wages on the American side for ten years sfter completion. All in the name of racking up a huge debt that would help hurtle us towards the great reset. Once it's announced that Canada is totally bankrupt and through the roof in debt begins our quick transition into slavery via the Universal basic income and the digital currency and I.D. This has been planned for a long time.

we got something for that debt. Harper spent money on things we need for future growth. This was part of his economic stimulus plan. Created a lot of jobs too. When Trudeau spends money , we get nothing, just the debt. How many billions has he wasted? A lot. Trudeau has racked up more debt than all other PM's in all of Canadian History combined. That's extremely incompetent Trudeau. Don't forget there's WW1 and WW2 debt added in that. Trudeau is ridiculously incompetent

Harper also made all those newer service station's on the 401 possible. Trudeau? I think he's built some roads in foreign countries
