Almost identical color scheme as mine, which is a 1999 Limited Edition 4X4. It is the best truck I ever owned, A real workhorse with luxury to boot. I get somewhat better MPG than my 5.0 L Econoline van that it replaced, plus the 5.4Triton gives me 80 more HP and way more torque and towing power! It's getting me through this horrible 2010 winter with no problem. I intend to keep it till it dies, then I might just drop in another engine. It's really earned its keep.
I missed this car so much :/ the frame was destroyed from an accident so we had to get rid of it. But Ford never fails when it comes to making this kind of SUV. Today I drive an 06 Expedition Eddie Bauer and I love everything about it. Although, my wallet does tend to cry when I'm gasing it up ._. other than that it's a great vehicle
I think I will get one of these in a few months, job/school are only about 10 mins away so gas shouldn't be to much of an issue. I like the styling, space, comfort, reliability plus they're cheap. The previous owner really abused this tho.
IMO the styling of the first gen Expeditions is the best of all model years. The ones they make nowadays are way too Suburban-looking and have no character. The 2000 has a very cool "retro" look and I've received compliments about this car. The only other car I've owned that received compliments like that is a '98 Volvo S70, a very nice-looking, solidly-built (like the Expeditions) car and GREAT drivability.
The odometer only works sometimes on mine! Also had to seal off the moonroof due to leaking into the electronics near fuse box ! But still runs like a beast!! 2001 grn eb expy.
Philippines and Canadian Expedition speedometers have km/h at the top and MPH at the bottom. 10 seater (3-3-4) seating configurations for the Philippine version, and 2-3-3 (8 seater) seating configurations for North American Expeditions. There are some 1999 Ford Expeditions imported to Russia. They put Europlate (Russian license plate number) on their rear bumper or rear bottom door. Australian sized Philippine license plate can fit on 1999 Expeditions.
that happens. We have police impound cars for auction where I live and they're all cheap. Unfortunately they all are falling apart or have some sort of expensive issue.
Man, you were revving this one way harder than the other '98 Eddie Bauer you had. Nontheless, good job though. Also, what happened with the old Grand Cherokee Laredo with the Blown Engine, if I'm not mistaken I think you parked right next to it.
Yep some people just dont give a fuck about there vehicles they just drive them that's it. no cleaning no oil change no servicing in a funny kinda way I feel sorry for it you see im the type of guy that treats his car like his baby.
Dude, they fucked up that truck pretty good. I bought one with 180,000 miles for 2000 grand and let me tell you runs like your floating on air. Gas is expensive so only use it with family outings.
re "floating on air": after my mechanic took my 2000 Expy for a test drive after doing some engine work he commented that he wasn't used to driving a vehicle with such a soft ride.
my 97 eddie bauer while im driving down the road just stops running pull over and shut it off wait a couple mins. and it strarts up but keeps doing this whats going on
Dead battery = computer gets stupid because it has no voltage to remember stuff, that clicking is the anti theft, but the battery is to dead to honk the horn and flash the lights at the same time lol. If you look when you try to start it above the tach that fast flashing light is the anti theft system... Fords rely on a lot of VCM modules and when there is not enough voltage things get screwy lol...
i have a 135k on mine and we'e been on several 1000 mile one way 2k all round trips actually al lot with it and it only has 135k miles on it... it used to be our primary car and its a 98' so its strange they have so many miles on it for it being a 00'
oh...well ok haha..thanks for the info...i though the eddie bauers always came with the bigger engines, but i guess not..my friend has and eddie bauer thats a 5.4
These factory alarm systems suck ass, they need to be reset. Also down below the stearing wheel where the shifter connects to the shifter linkage, there are these two star bolts called torque bits, size T-30 , these come loose and the SUV wont register in PARK. Simply tighten these, also try starting it in NEUTRAL. On a white box near the firewall is the 5 digit code for the door lock, you will need that. Its on the sticker on that white box, driver side, underneath, another video shows where. Try disconnecting the battery for a minute, let all that energy out, then reconnect, wait freaking a whole 15 minutes, go get a coffee, and try again before you call AAA for a tow. If its not any of that, make sure you have gas and a juice in your battery. The other issue with this SUV is the IAC, Idle Air Control Valve, two screws and unplug, get some carb cleaner, clean it out, two screws back on, plug it back in...... or have a mechanic do it for cheap. There is a valet switch 3" behind that red blinking light underneath the steering wheel, press that, mess with that.... chip might be loose (thats under the wheel too), others have changed out the fuel pump driver module, that might be it, could be the starter solenoid, fuel pump, new coil packs are $50 ea, ..... also another video showed that the RED positive cable wire to the battery rubs the metal bar about 10 inches down (thats why these things catch fire in peoples garages all the time, hours after parking...) take some black electrical tape and tape it where it can rub, even if its not the issue, so that you can save your house, usually people have liability insurance and the car burns, your out of luck, so tape that shit good. Could be the vacuum line, intake manifold seal, injectors .... FIX OR REPAIR DAILY, FOUND ON Road Dead F.O.R.D. but they are affordable thats why we keep buying and repairing them.... good luck.
Hmm , I guess that's why cars like this easily die on the hands of the Americans, It's because they don't engine wash it , they don't take care of it , and a ford expedition for you Americans IS JUST A TRASH , but in our country we give respect to the Ford Expedition
OK let's consider some things here: a 2000 Expedition was repo'd in (I assume, 2009, the year the video was uploaded.) Presumably it had been completely paid-off by the first owner long before 2009 and then traded-in or outright sold to a second (or even third) buyer. The car's now almost a decade old and has depreciated greatly. Then the second/third owner 1. failed to do regular needed maintenance; and 2. can't or won't pay it off. What kind of person might that be? I'm thinking maybe someone who might not be the most responsible, wasn't of adequate financial means to make the payment for a 9-year-old vehicle, and who very well may have abused the vehicle. WTF buys a black SUV anyway? I think I have an idea, the same kind of knuckleheads, er, people who buy most black cars. Maybe they're trying to make a stupid "statement", who knows. I do know that by making that "statement" they've bought a car that will be hot as h*ll in the summertime and will show every blemish. Not trying to be a smartass or a Sherlock Holmes here but that does make sense to anyone? Heck, if you don't drive responsibly and fix things/do regular maintenance even the best and most-expensive new car will eventually be plagued with all kinds of problems.
