Can 100 Fian champions and me defend a castle from a horde of 2000 looters? Thanks for watching, let me know what you want to see next! 1103 v 161 siege defence - • 1103 vs 161 Siege Defe... #bannerlord #siege #mountandblade
Well, I think you should have chosen a different castle/town and/or should have used that or a fall back line better. Anyway, thanks for the entertainment.
I tried this game earlier, having many hours in Warband. I just didn't feel it was worth the price. Now after watching this I think I'll give Bannerlord another shot.
2:48 moments like that make battle for me atleast, most entertaining. Especially if you have Xoberax Legacy Cavalry charge buff mod, after initial charge horse but mostly infantry start flying all over the battlefield.
So the message here is that overwhelming numbers literally beat everything. And that's why my clans strength is just under 10000 all by itself before I even declare my empire. 10000 as soon as my empire starts and I haven't even gotten any other clans to join me. If anyone is wondering How It's actually relatively easy to take rebel towns especially once they first start and you can own fiefs as an unbound clan all to yourself. Tbh running my little empire these past few years without being a kingdom was kinda nice, there's not a bunch of people declaring war on you cuz there's no kingdom to declare on lol
I like to think that the person running this battle didn’t realise how many looters were actually gonna be there. At some point the Fians have to run out of arrows
even if they were limited to one quiver they would have 30 each, times that by 100 you got 3000 arrows, if 2/3 land they win solely off arrows, never mind they have broken 2 handed swords with high skill to match
If you use a fast bow, like the Noble Bow, and climb onto one of the towers with infinite arrows, you can make a huge difference in a battle like this. I once took down over 300 units in one siege using this strategy. Picking off those high tier troops when they have their back turned, engaged in melee with you fighters on the walls is a very efficient method. When there are only looters, almost every shot will equal one kill, making it even more viable. Also; Fian Champions are ridiculous, they remind me of Noldor Rangers in Prophesy of Pendor (Warband mod).
Aww, I rooted for the Fians... Surprisingly often they block, it's satisfying if you can just chop into a crowd and get multiple kills all the time. Maybe if you micromanage them you could do better? The start is shooting fish in a barrel but not killing fast enough. Once they come up on top of the ladders most switch to swords while only few can actually fight. To get another killzone, maybe then withdrawing most to the courtyard and have a few of them advance and keep them stuck up there might give the others the best shots. When this is lost also fall back and concentrate on one side of the battlefield?
My strategy was simple, outsmart them, you see fians have a maximum kill count, so I simply sent wave after wave of my own men until they reached their limit and shutdown
Love the video. No hate ❤ I genuinely think you could have won this battle with some small adjustments: - Why were your fire pots (red pots you threw) not exploding? You’d have deleted hundreds of them with fire ballista ammo, which you can build in a siege. - Equip the executioner axe and carve through multiplied enemies. Especially with such low armour as looters, you’ll hold those battlements with 8 fians next to you. - Get to a good vantage point on the battlements near an arrow basket and you can take down hundreds of enemies in a siege like this. I understand you were playing as a Fian Champion in a custom battle, just leaving my advice for anyone who is looking for it during campaign mode!
If you go up to an allied castle while it’s under siege there is an option to “break in and help defenders”. Or if you find an enemy army heading to one of your castles you can just beat them there and wait. If you break in tho usually it’ll cost you a bunch of soldiers depending on your roguery stat.
This is what a zombie horse mode would look like in the game. If some mod would make this game into a fantasy setting and your castles were being besieged by a wondering horde of undead. That would make this game bad ass if it were to go towards that direction. Very the nights watch vs the wights on the wall vibes.
Yep even when your an elite guard with a lifetime of training and heavy armor, a mob of peasants with pitchforks and daggers can totally make that completely pointless
Only the ones from fire catapults do. Because they arent rocks but clay pots with something explosive in them. Regular rocks have a bit of aoe, but the radius is extremely small.
The soviets didn't make this human wave attack there were very rarely in ww2 the human wave attack is just propaganda of the germans in ww2 and American and western propaganda in the cold war that the soviets with throu their men in this way this things never happened in real life
to be fair, when we're comparing what is necessary for this battle in comparison to the 400 legionaries vs 2000 looters, the legionaries only had to have a kd average of around 5 or more to win. for this one each soldier needed to have a kd average of around 20 or more to win, regardless of whether they're better soldiers the requirements to win are x 4
What I would like to see is the AI using towers and natural choke points to their advantage. In a siege you could easily use a tower like a keep by sending some down in melee to guard the doors and others keep shooting from above. Sadly AI is dumb and you can only find this in multi-player.
