@@bluesraincancun9217 They had a ton of turnovers I believe on the road against Stanford when they were ranked 4th, lost by 6 on the road to an 11-2 WSU team, and then lost by 1 at home to an 11-1 Oregon team that won the Pac 10. At this point they were deflated and lost 27-0 to Pete Carroll’s first USC team. So basically the schedule was brutal and they came up just short against some great teams.
it's amazing how awful nugent and huston both were in 2001 (huston was awful in 99 too) and then a few years under tressel and staff they basically became best in the country at kicking
Paus had an amazing deep ball. He just couldn't pass short or intermediate at all. If he completed a few intermediate passes during the season UCLA may have had a 10 win season.
This is one of the few recent OSU games I've never seen, as I was out of the country when it was played. I didn't miss much. LOL. It's very strange to see Mike "Otto Matic" Nugent look so utterly terrible here.
Ohio State had trouble with these California schools ( USC & UCLA ) especially in the state of California. 1989 USC 42-3 over OSU 2005, USC 35-3 than this game UCLA 13-6 but they got the Bruins back at the horseshoe 42-20 maybe it was the year before
